Hands down best pizza in the area, and I’ve tried many. The dough they use alone makes it stand apart. Note: you have to request Parmesan cheese and peppers.

We were looking for a pizza spot late at night, and this place will cook pizzas long after their dining room is closed. We went and ordered and waited about 15 minutes for a 16″ margherita pizza(~$ 26). It was pretty tasty with a thin crust and heavy, heavy sauce. The amount of sauce was a little much, honestly. I like a more sauce than cheese ratio and Amazona was really big on pushing that limit. I appreciate a rule breaker, but sometimes, taking chances doesn’t pay off. They have a very badass pizza box with a cheetah, because they are dangerously pushing all pizza limits.

I’m a fan. I order from here a lot for work, and we do BIG delivery orders. I like that they have a big variety – and lots of options for vegetarians. I’ve had big, weird, complicated orders and find that it’s best to talk to the manager in advance to make sure the orders are just as I anticipate. They’re super busy, so if you get an employee on the phone who seems rushed make sure that they read everything back to you so you BOTH know they understood what you’re asking for. PS. The pizza is really good.

Pretty solid place — My band was playing at a bar across the street and I wandered in here for some food before the show. I ordered a slice of cheese and a slice of pepperoni. They were piping hot when I got them and they came out of the oven fast. I think I paid about $ 6 for the two slices but they were big enough to fill me up. Overall, it’s a good value and friendly atmosphere with food I’d liken to a Sbarros. Check em out!

Out here visiting family and decided to try this place. Maybe it wasn’t the best idea to order for lunch as the pizza was so delicious I overate and have a food coma as I’m writing this. We tried the italiana, and all of the ingredients tasted really fresh. Home made sausage and tomato sauce on the pizza were also really excellent(and I’m not generally a big fan of tomato sauce). I live in ny and have had my fair share of good pizza and this place ranks among the best I’ve had. Nice surprise for choosing a random place to order from!

Eh. It was ok. I got delivery and I’m not sure that makes a difference or not. They claim New York style but it was a little too greasy for my liking. It was that greasy where you have to hold the front and back so it doesn’t turn into a dripping mess. It satisfied my hunger but I’ll be trying some other options before going back to this joint.

I ordered lunch for my office staff, when delivered there were no condiments: pepper flakes or parmesan. I called to ask why we didnt get condiments. The manager who declined to give his name said he asked if I wanted plates and I said no so you need to ask for the condiments. I didnt know I had to ask and why would they have that kind of customer service. He said he didnt give a fuck and hung up. Never again, I dont care how good the pizza is. This kind of response and service is terrible

Who would’ve thought — the one place in the bay area I find authentic NY pizza is on Telegraph in Oakland. The location is kind of sketch, but the staff doesn’t seem to be worried about anything. I will definitely return. BB

This pizza is not good. It looks fine but gives off a strange aroma when the box is opened. I thought my neighbors might be smoking weed, but it was the pizza. I would like to take this opportunity to compare this pizza to a genetically modified fruit. Looks ripe, feels ripe, tastes really off. Some of the reviews I read mentioned that the crust was rubbery. I will confirm this. It’s chewy and doesn’t have any flavor. The sauce tastes like it came out of one of those packets that comes with the Boboli pizzas sold at Safeway. Somehow the sauce squeezed out of those packets tastes better than this. The pizza was a good deal for its size and it’s not like it’s inedible. I ate two slices and I don’t feel sick or anything, just a little disappointed.

I figured I’d give this place another shot after being kind of disappointed after the first try. The first time I got their pizza, there were slices that had cheese and other slices that had… barely any cheese and what there was, it was a bit watery. It tasted okay, but it looked like a complete mess. So I just received my pizza and it’s the same thing again. It doesn’t even look like it was cut and there are bare spots on slices! Disappointed again. Will not be a return customer.

Terrific pizza. As well-priced as the chains but with the old world pizzeria flavor. Zesty and savory sauce, NY style bubbly chewy crust(double 00 I imagine), great wholesome cheese, and delicious shaved red onions made the Where the Pork… style pizza delish. Highly recommended. We ordered in so IDK about the ambience but I imagine it doesn’t matter as long as it’s clean and safe.

Not bad. Pizza was good. Guy in the store asked me if i wanted the individual slices as soon as i got in, though i intended on ordering a whole pizza. So don’t feel rushed, take your time, there’s little menus on the counter. Just got slices and they were around $ 3.50/piece. Still worth it. Parking isn’t really easy for this place, around the corner there are meters. Just watch out for the signs posted.

Went there for din din with kiddos last night and got the large 2 topping pizza(pepperoni and chicken). All we can say is BOMB! My daughter noted how clean the cheese and pepper dispensers were. Star for that! We are easy to please. Love this place. Will come backs. Kids told me 4.5 stars. 4.5 it is to the nearest whole number.

Long overdue review — I have ordered delivery here more times in the past two years than my credit card statement would like to admit, and I have never been disappointed. Pro-tip: Meat eaters, order the«Where The Pork Has No Name» and enjoy it while listening to young Bono let his artistic dignity slip through the fingers of the late 80s:

I tried them at the recommendation of my roommate(actually she mixed up her pizza places but it ended up working out for the best). The pizza was REALLY good and their customer service was even better. When I called they said they didn’t deliver to my area but since I was a repeat customer(oops!) they would happily do it. We ordered the kalamata olives, tomatoes and pepperoni and it tasted homemade. I will definitely be picking up from them in the future:)

I have ordered delivery to my North Oakland residence multiple times and they always show up ahead of schedule, pizza is hot, and it’s a pretty decent pie to boot. I generally go for the thin crust pie with fresh mozzarella and other toppings(you can order their specials or build your own). I like that they are a bit more liberal with the tomato sauce than some other spots. Definitely a cut above the other local places and chains that deliver!

One thing that Oakland lacks is decent utility pizza. Not fancy thin crust or super heavy deep dish pizza but old fashioned pizza. Not only pizza but there’s not a ton of pizza delivery compared to San Francisco. That being said Amazonas provides both utility pizza and pizza delivery. When walking in this joint, Amazonas looks like an abandoned pizza parlor, void of restaurant décor. There’s an oven, cash register, fridge, and a couple old tables for those who may want to eat a quick slice. Some of my coworkers decided to come here for lunch. Amazonas also sells ready made pizza by the slice. So I ordered: slice of pepperoni and a plain cheese: The plain cheese was good, can’t go wrong with plain cheese here. Visually the pepperoni kind of bothered me because of all the orange grease run off. But a few pats with a napkin and I felt less like fat butt eating my second slice of heavy carbed, high saturated fat food. Overall a decent pizza is served here. Worthy of calling for delivery for next time that I want a whole pizza brought to my house.
