We went around 6 on a Saturday night for a quick dinner and the bar was hoppin’! It appeared there were quite a few regulars there that were all having a great time and were incredibly friendly. It’s an older crowd, but I think that is usually the best kind! They had college football on multiple TV’s, which pleased the fiancé and our waitress was very sweet. Our food came out fast and was delicious. We will definitely be going back when we can stay longer.

I ordered the chicken fingers lunch, it came with 5 rather large chicken tenders and a decent size basket of fries. Also it included dipping cups of ketchup, mustard, honey mustard and ranch. They were pretty hot and had not been sitting under a heat lamp. Taste wise it was pretty good. Overall if your at the Hilton then give the place a try.

The dreaded 3.5 rating and whether to go or go down. I decided to go down for a few reasons. First off the service was friendly and engaging. I has asked about the garlic in the mashed(love! garlic) and our waiter said it was not a lot but he brought me a little serving of chopped garlic in oil on the side with my meal. Nice touch. The selection on the menu is okay. Not a lot of variety. went basic and had the NY strip. It was almost an ideal medium rare, maybe than one minute too long on the grill but it was fine. The aforementioned extra of garlic though really added flavour. They should put that on the menu! The veggies were cooked fine. So overall okay but nothing special. The portions a bit modest, no breads or anything offered. If I was at the hotel without wheels, I would go back without hesitation, but given my choice, I think I would try somewhere else with a wider selection.

I enjoy Amelia’s but not the hotel it is located in. I’m a huge fan of the breakfast buffet. Although the bagels are not too fresh any place that offers lox for breakfast is worth a good review. The selection of freshly squeezed juices is a treat. You can choose between, orange juice, cranberry juice and my favorite, grapefruit juice. Made to order omelettes are available but make sure to get there early because they stop making them at 9:30am. The staff is great, helpful and attentive.

So it’s a place inside of a hotel… but it’s a great place. Nice atmosphere and good food. I was here for a retirement party awhile back and got some food from here. I had garlic fries and crabcakes… both tasted awesome. The aioli was epic. It was a one time thing, though. However, if you’re around, don’t be afraid to stop by.

As you enter Amelia’s, you pass their large bar area before you get to their table that sit two to four. We sat at an open table and a server brought us menus and asked if we wanted anything to drink. I asked for the beer selection and he rattled off a list. With his accent and how fast he was naming them, I only comprehended about four of them and I ended up ordering a small(16 oz.) Stella. Amelia’s is a sports bar and it had large screen projection TV screen and multiple flat screen TVs on the walls and were broadcasting Thursday night football. When he brought the beer, it looked quite large for 16 ounces. When the waitress came to take our orders, I commented that my beer was quite large for a small. She said I had a large beer and when I told her I had ordered a small, she said she would ensure I would get charged for a small beer. We ordered: –fish and chips, which consisted of four battered flaky fish filets with homemade potato chips and cole slaw in a plastic cup. –chicken pot pie. It was an unusual pot pie, not the traditional made with the traditional pie crust. The filling was topped with a corn meal like round disc. This dish was very rich. Overall, the food wasn’t bad for a sports bar restaurant. Service was friendly, food was decent. Oh, they have popcorn cart for all you can eat popcorn.

Arrgggghhhh! Like most experienced travelers, you learn not to expect too much from a hotel restaurant other than high prices and a long wait with mediocre service. We weren’t travelling but attending a seminar at this hotel. With the construction going on outside, we decided not to leave the hotel for lunch. To our surprise, at least ½ of the seminar attendees had the same idea and we all ended up in the restaurant. We were greeted and seated immediately. Oddly enough, the server only dropped off one menu for the two of us. He did take our drink orders though. Diet soda for her and ice water for me. Another server saw us passing the menu back and forth and brought us another one. Her drink came first and I had to wait a couple minutes more for my water but not a big deal since I had my cofffee cup with me. She had the hamburger and fries while I got a club sandwich, substituting cole slaw for fries. She said the burger was fine. It looked good with the lettuce, tomato and red onions. The fries were excellent. Crispy and lightly salted. My club was a typical hotel club. It could have used more lettuce, riper tomatos and of course, more bacon! Overall, the food wasn’t bad for a hotel restaurant but we would never go out of our way to dine here. Another oddity was that there were not full set-ups at any of the tables near us. We were missing a fork; the table behind her had to ask for set-ups and then ask again for knives; the table next to us was missing parts as well and anytime the server was asked, he would reach over to vacant table and take what he needed but we never saw him bring replacements from the service station.

Here for 10 days. The staff is very kind and helpful. After eating every breakfast here, I have to say the man who makes the omelets is fantastic, I never had one bad breakfast. The lunch and dinner menu is minimal but the food is consist ant and better then expected. Halibut and chips were good, the chips are homemade and I recommend. A quiet place, mostly business men. The sports bar picks up in the evening. I would say the staff here would make me come back even if the hotel(Hilton Oakland Airport) is not good and the front desk people are rude. At least you only have to deal with them coming and going. the people of the restaurant and service were wonderful, helpful and accommodating

I ate here twice last weekend during a convention. They’re nice enough to give patrons all the popcorn you can eat. You scoop it yourself but if you like that movie style popcorn you can eat it until you get sick which I came close to doing once. Nice atmosphere for sports especially with the big screens. At one point a ton of football fans entered. I ordered a Club Sandwich once which was about $ 11 with tip and tax and the next day an American Burger which was $ 12 with tax and tip. SERVICE: B FOOD: B ATMOSPHERE: B to B plus

This place exceeded my expectations, and that’s saying a lot for a hotel restaurant. The service was nice, the crowd was reasonably quiet(i.e. you didn’t have to shout to make yourself heard), and the food was surprisingly good. I ordered the turkey burger, which actually isn’t ground turkey. It’s a chunk of turkey breast in a great big monster of a sandwich. Besides the big mass of meat, it came topped with lettuce, tomato, red onion, lots of fresh, succulent avocado(no brown mushy avocado to be seen. I know! Right?) and provolone cheese. The accompanying fries were not midget fries. They were big like the sandwich, and not greasy at all. Lots of TVs, including one huge projection visible from anywhere in the place. All in all, not too shabby. But, again, my expectations were low :)

Hotel restaurants are always tricky to rate because depending on the hotel, your expectations can be high or low. Being that this restaurant is located at the Hilton known for being Raiders Fans, I wasn’t expecting much. It’s adjacent to the sports bar and provides a quiet space away from all the sports fans. Service was good and food offerings were interesting but just not the«best». I had the open faced turkey sandwich with gravy and mashed potatoes. Turkey was plentiful and did have good flavor. Gravy was definitely from the can. Potatoes were okay. My hubby had some kind of bbq pork thing on the bone. It was massive, it was tender and it was actually ok. Just the flavor wasn’t strong enough for such a hearty meal. Best part of the dinner? The potato skins. Solid offering of 6, with a good amount of bacon — not too greasy, good crisp.

For a truly unremarkable dining experience, stuff your wallet(the place is kinda pricey), grab your Tom Tom(it can be nearly as difficult to locate as Howland Island) and a parka(they ain’t havin’ none of this global warming crap) and head on over to Amelia’s. We arrived right on the cusp of the breakfast/lunch interface. We opted for lunch. Perhaps breakfast is better. Amelia’s is located at 37.727130 –122.201781 N37° 43.6278′, W122° 12.1069′

Hotel Restaurant in the Hilton Oakland Airport… sounds like crap right? Wrong! This place has a very small menu, so small that it’s already on the table in one of those plastic holders. Mostly sandwiches and appetizers. I’ve eaten here a few times. I’ve had the Ruben, a burger, and today was the Rosmary Chicken Sandwich on Foccacia. Everything I’ve eaten here has been REALLY good. Suprisingly good. Tons of TV’s to see any sporting event. Closed Circuit for Raiders games that are blacked out. Full bar. The only reason that it loses a star is because of the fact that they had 15 tv’s going and only one with sound. It was tough to hear the game and also because the kitchen is just a little bit slow. Service staff is good enough though. If you’re looking for a spot to grab a bite by the airport, handle it! Parking validated.
