Small production. But their Syrahs(particularly their Columbia Valley) are always good.

Now this is French Wine made in the East Bay! I know I had more than the following two wines but these are the ones I have notes on so they are the only ones I can comment on. The 2007 Verve French Colombard — Domaine de Mirail was served chilled and was crisp and flavorful. It begged to have mussels steamed in it. At $ 12 a bottle I would have it with seafood on a regular basis. The 2005 Verve Columbia Valley Syrah was a very nice, complex wine made from grapes in Washington State. It was fruity but not overpowering. Richly flavored but not spicy or with too much tannin. Oh, and I was able to practice my french.

Wine in Oakland? You bet! 2006 French Colombard was OK. Sauvingnon Blanc was OK. 2005 Syrah was yummy.
