Berkeley Tow

I had to use this company when my GEICO emergency service called them to give my car a tow from University Avenue to a mechanic in Albany. My main complaint is that they gave the GEICO person a 45 minute wait time, and it was much longer than that. I was in fact on the point of leaving to go find a bathroom, unable to wait much longer, when the driver finally arrived. I did call them at one point, some time after the 45 minute time period, and the lady who answered at first said it hadn’t been 45 minutes yet, and then said that she didn’t know where I got that number from. She also called me ‘hon’ and was somewhat condescending. So, not great customer service and not reliable about time.
I think if they could be correct about the times, then a stranded customer could go wait somewhere safe, and the tow truck driver could call them on a cell phone once they arrived. It worries me a little that this could have been the middle of the night, in an isolated location, and safety might have been an issue. I was lucky that it was not a dangerous situation.
The driver was quick and efficient, once he arrived, and the towing process went smoothly.
