Nicole and Cam helped us with our first home purchase here in Oakland. Having relocated from the East Coast recently, and being first-​time homebuyers, we had very little experience with the market or the process. Cam and Nicole were referred through a friend, and we couldn’t have been happier. They did a great job guiding us through the process, setting realistic expectations while making every effort to accommodate our needs and budget. They were both extremely responsive and great about communicating clearly, and were never pushy while at the same time helping us to stay focused and make attractive bids. They were invaluable in helping us through the financing process as well — we can’t recommend them highly enough. We ended up in a place and a neighborhood that we absolutely love, and at a price that worked for us — and we wouldn’t have found it without their inside knowledge of the market. I’m sure that they have plenty of other clients on both the buy and sell side with larger budgets and the ability to make more aggressive offers than us, but we never felt as though we weren’t their sole focus throughout the process. And, they were great about handling a fairly complicated closing (which was complicated in part to accommodate our schedule). We’ll definitely be going back to them for any real estate needs in the future, and recommend that anyone else do so as well. Nicole and Cameron are an amazing team. They were wonderful to work with and were so responsive to all of our requests. As first time home buyers in this crazy real estate market, they helped us navigate emotional roller coaster that goes along with making multiple offers. They encouraged us to put in an offer on the home that we ultimately purchased and helped us come up with a very competitive bid. Once the offer was accepted, they continued to guide us through the process and answered our many, many questions.

They went above and beyond to find out as much as they could about the homes that we were interested in. They are extremely knowledgeable and have strong ties in the East Bay. They helped us put together the most competitive offer that we were comfortable with. We never felt pressured to go above our comfort level, something that is easy to do in this market. They always had our best interest in mind.
After our offer was accepted, they were so responsive to all of our requests and questions as we went through the inspections, appraisal and financing. They negotiated aggressively on our behalf when issues came up as we waived our contingencies. When a problem came up as we were executing the final documents, they were quick to come up with a solution and make the necessary phone calls to keep the closing date on schedule. Once we received the keys to our new home, the whole family celebrated with us!
You cannot go wrong with the two of them. They made the home buying process as enjoyable as possible. We absolutely love our home! We really enjoyed working with them and have recommended their team to our family and friends.

We used them to buy our current home, and despite it being a purchase of a short sale which can be stressful, Cameron fully explained the process to us, let us know what to expect, and made the process smooth and easy. Despite a difficult situation with tenants whom we liked, Platt Realty got the job done and sold the property quickly and efficiently. What we like best about Cameron and Nicole is their knowledge of the industry and ability to communicate that so you know exactly what is going on and what will occur. We also like the «non-​pressure» style, whether purchasing or selling. No hard sells — they truly want you to be happy and not just «close the deal.»

Cameron and Nicole are the best! We were new to the market in Oakland and they made us feel comfortable we were making a good decision. They guided us toward the right neighborhoods, and went above and beyond to give us recommendations on restaurants, bars, shops, etc nearby. We felt they really understood who we are and what we were looking for.
They had such a good pulse on the area that they were able to predict the price a place would sell for within a couple thousand dollars. This is of paramount importance in a market where homes sell at prices that just sound crazy compared to the asking price and no one knows what kind of offer will win out. Ultimately we put in an offer at a place, and payed the «least, most» possible for it. Out of 7 offers, we came in the middle of the pack, but our offer was accepted due to the incredible terms that Cameron and Nicole were able to pull off. Normally, the only way to be competitive in bay area real estate is with a suitcase full of money, but in our case having an incredible real estate duo fighting for us was all we needed.
They are an awesome team and I recommend them to anyone looking to buy or sell in Oakland.

Top notch! We had been looking for our first home in the east bay for a LONG time. (Way way too long.) As soon as we enlisted the help of Platt Inc. it happened! Reflecting upon our emotional experience of buying our first home in this crazy Bay Area market, we have the great team at Platt Inc. to thank. Cameron and Nicole are a power team. Individually they are strong agents and when combined they are unstoppable.

— They were responsible with our money. They were very sensible when it came to writing offers, being cognizant of fair market value over speculative inflated value because of the current market. Cameron’s law degree came in handy during negotiations and drafting our contracts.
— Patient and Knowledgable. Let’s put it this way… we had A LOT of questions being new to the Bay Area. They were both very patient and explained everything to us in detail and often times gave us more information than we had originally asked for.
— Follow through. They were there for us every step of the entire buying process and always delivered for us above and beyond. Now that we’ve successfully purchased our house, Nicole is still there for us. Answering our questions and referring us to different resources and offering to help us whenever possible.
We are indeed truly fortunate to have had the experience of working with the Platts and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy or sell a house. Yes, we have seen their selling skills in action as well and you’ll be in good hands no matter what your real estate needs are.

Cameron and Nicole were savers of our sanity during the arduous process that was buying a home in 2015, and nothing short of clutch teammates to have when it came to having our offer accepted on the TOTALLY AWESOME home we bought, on terms we were comfortable with.
Silicon Valley millionaires we are not. We didn’t have a giant budget, and we were definitely not going to be able to put more than 20% down on anything. Team Platt struck the perfect balance of being really encouraging and supportive, while also helping to set realistic expectations for each bidding scenario we pursued. We asked a million questions at least, and always got timely, helpful answers. They made great recommendations about how and where to expand our search without sacrificing what was really important to us.
The clincher, tho — and the reason why we can’t implore you enough to work with these guys — were the lengths to which both Cam and Nicole were able to go while negotiating on our home. Cam’s relationships with other area agents and his legal background are the absolutely 100% of the reason we were able to reach a mutual agreement with the seller. We’ve ended up with a home we are SO happy with, and its because our agents were able to help us be shrewd and aggressive without being careless or crazy. Also, their 3 year old has excellent interior decorating suggestions. So, there’s that :)

I am a first time home buyer that just closed a few days ago. I initially worked with another agent, who didn’t seem very helpful. But as a first time home buyer, I wasn’t sure what to expect so I just went with the flow.
Then I met met Nicole at an open house, and set up a meeting with her and Cameron. A few weeks into the process, the high level of service that Cameron and Nicole provided showed just how awful my previous realtor was.
In short, Cameron and Nicole were professional, communicative, and conscious of the buyer’s needs (as opposed to their own). If any of you first time home buyers out there are looking for an agent, I would highly recommend Cameron and Nicole. Not only are they good at what they do, they are good people as well.

We had decided to start looking for a new home knowing we wouldn’t have the means to purchase for at least 6 months. Cameron was an old friend so we reached out to start the process of finding an agent and finding a house. After meeting with Cameron and Nicole we decided we wouldn’t need to look for another agent. They were professional and helpful right away. They got us connected to an excellent loan agent and started walking us through what we’d need to prepare our current house for sale as well as finding a new home to move into. Knowing that we had an extended timeline they were great about checking in every so often to keep things going.
When we had the means to move and started looking in ernest, they were always willing to meet and walk us through each interesting home. They gave great advice on what to look out for and never pressured us to write an offer. We requested several disclosure packets which they very helpfully summarized and walked us through. Each time we got close to offering, but backed out, they were helpful and understanding.
Finally, when we found the house we wanted, they helped us write the strongest offer we could manage. They made sure we were able to give the sellers what they wanted as well as added a little extra. Ultimately it got us the house we wanted for a price we still think is lower than it could have been (huge win). During the escrow period they kept closely in touch with us and the selling agent making sure inspections were done promptly and walking us through the report. They handled every request and question we had promptly and professionally.
We’re in the home we wanted and could not be happier about it.
Cameron and Nicole also helped us sell our previous home and did so with the same professionalism. They walked us through prepping the home. They scheduled inspectors, handymen, cleaners, and stagers. We hardly had to think about it. The home was well marketed and had a ton of interest. Despite being pressured by a buyer, Cameron and Nicole had our best interests at heart and made sure we’d get the best deal we could. After the offers came in, they sat down with us and helpfully walked us through each one answering every question we had. In the end we were able to sell the house for far more than we thought we would.
We highly recommend Cameron and Nicole. Their level of service is excellent.

Cameron and Nicole were awesome in helping us buy our first home. They helped us move very fast on a property to win for under asking price in a highly competitive market. They were very responsive and professional throughout.

Cameron was highly recommended to me by a mutual friend to sell a duplex, which was being sold as a short sale. This transaction started in March 2013. The property went on the market in May 2013, which resulted in 6 offers, one of which we picked and another which was chosen as a back up.
The lender that held my mortgage was a nightmare to work with, and months dragged on, with a «short sale negotiator» working with the lender. The short sale negotiator kept me informed as to what was going on. For the 9 months it took the lender to make a decision, I NEVER got a response from a single email or voice mail I left Cameron. However, when Cameron needed something from me, he, without a problem, e– or v-​mailed me, all of which I received. Amazing that in this day and age his e– and v-​mail work in only one direction!
When I looked up Cameron’s ratings on Unilocal, I kept wondering: Am I dealing with the same person as these other reviewers? All of them talk about how Cameron was there with and for them every step of the way, held their hands, answered all their questions, etc. For me, Cameron was MIA.
When I brought this up to Cameron, he admitted: «Yeah, I have put you on the back burner.» Per Cameron, he did not like working with the buyer’s agent, and so when he had to deal with that agent, he figured he’d work on it later because other sales and agents were more pleasant to deal with. Clearly, however, Cameron most often did not make it to the back of his range. (This is a quote and paraphrasing of Cameron’s own words.) This behavior also was in complete contrast to Cameron’s punctuality at calling me monthly when he was trying to get the listing.
During the 9 months it took the lender to make a decision on this short sale, because he had never reviewed the file, Cameron did not even know the buyers had never signed off on the contingencies. When this was uncovered, Cameron sent the buyers a 48 Hour Notice to Perform, and when they didn’t, we voided the sale, having to put the property back on the market. Keep in mind this property is a rental, so after all the interruptions my tenants went through with the first sale, they now had to go through all of them again. Not nice.
By this time, the listing agreement had expired. I offered Cameron the option to not re-​sign with me as I could only assume there was something about working with me with which he was not comfortable. I told him there would be no offense taken by me if he wanted to end the agreement. He said no as he «loved working with me because I am so straight-​forward, and that I was a very important client to him.» His behavior certainly did not reflect enjoyment or importance, and I was baffled by the disconnect between the words and actions (or lack thereof, as the case was), not to mention, what was so important about me and a $ 500,000 sale?
We extended the listing agreement and started all over.
The property did finally sell. That was a bit more than a month ago. I waited until now to write this review, wondering if I would ever hear from Cameron, with a thank you, a phone call, a voice mail, an email, a snail mail, a Go To Hell — anything acknowledging he had just made approximately $ 20k from me and that in total, we had been working together for more than 2 years. NOTHING! He didn’t even have the courtesy or respect to pick up the keys to the property himself on the day of closing, to say thank you and goodbye, but sent an assistant. And as for his promised «celebratory dinner». .. Why say you are going to acknowledge something with a celebration when you can’t even take the time to email a thank you?
I have NEVER heard from Cameron since closing the escrow. I have to laugh, as the only negative review Cameron has gotten, he rebutted what the person said and told him to act «professional.» I would like to know what is so professional about not even a handshake or phone call to say thank you and goodbye. (The review to which I refer has since been taken down.)
Had Cameron shown the respect and decency to contact me after the sale, I would not have written this review no matter how poor the service I received was, but that was the final insult.
Originally I was going to give Cameron a 2 star rating for his knowledge of the business and required forms. However, since that information is the bottom line requirement for all agents, and combined with the fact that I would never refer him again (something I had done several times before actually working with him), Cameron gets 1 star from me.
Minimally VERY disappointing, and more accurately, unacceptable and outrageous!

Where to begin with this review? Cameron and his team helped us sell our home in Oakland and with the purchase of our new home in Pleasant Hill. First and foremost, he came prepared with a packet of reports for all the comps in our neighborhood so we could determine what our strategy would be for our listing. We were able to establish a timeline to preparing the home for market, line up contractors, and schedule work to be done within the first two meetings.
Not only was he available to us at what seems like any time of day, but his team was very prompt with returning our emails, calls, and texts whenever we had questions. In addition to availability, Cameron was great at putting our anxiety at ease during the whole negotiation process with the sale of our previous home and purchase of the new one.
He can think outside the box when it comes to negotiations and always provide his professional opinion. In a nutshell, I would recommend Cameron a thousand times over!

Cameron sold our our Berkeley duplex in record time over the holidays. He took care of everything we needed so that we could focus on our move and our family. When issues came up, he worked his «Cam-​magic» to get us the results that we needed. We would definitely recommend him if you’re looking for an expert real estate agent with a heart and a personal touch.

We previously listed out Montclair house with the realty «specialist» for the area, and the experience was a disaster. We took our house off the market for a few months and chose to work with Cameron. We had a few minor bumps, which we expected, and Cameron worked with us to make sure we understood what was happening and to reevaluate strategy. Through collaboration and creativity, we sold our house for more than the listing price the «specialist» had previously listed it for. Great experience for us!

My house purchase involved a professional trustee, an absent listing agent, multiple offers, and a couple of code violations that needed to be corrected. Cameron Platt handled every aspect of the purchase with care and expertise, making sure that everything went as smoothly as possible. I was very pleased with the experience.

Due to the downturn of the market, we had to shortsell our beautiful home. Cameron to the rescue! He was AWESOME again! He helped make a very stressful, distressful situation tolerable. Cameron is always very helpful (and calming) and great to work with! I continue to recommend him to anyone seeking a great realtor!!!

Cameron is the hardest working Realtor we know. From the minute we said that we were interested in buying a house, he worked with us all hours of the day and night. Even coming to our place in the dark and rain to get a contract signed so we could place an offer immediately. We were pregnant, had very specific interests in where we wanted to live and what kind of house we wanted. We appreciated very much his knowledge of the legal aspects of real estate and it was clear that he has good working relationships with other Realtors. He was always prompt in getting offers in and getting ahold of us. He was awesome at discerning with us what a good house was and what a good deal looked like.
Now the baby is eight months old; we are in the exact neighborhood we wanted, in a house we love, that meets our needs. All thanks to Cameron.

Where do I begin other then by saying you can trust that Cameron will work his ass off to help you sell or buy a home. He has helped me do both over the last several years and I’m embarrassed that I haven’t written a review earlier and yelled it across the Unilocal mountain tops!
He helped me put in multiple bids before finally having a bid excepted on a house in Oakland during the hight of the market. Then he ventured across the bridge to help me purchase a condo in the city since every single guy needs a pad in SF! Since then he has let me know that he works with clients all the time in the city so don’t let the Oakland address fool you, he covers a good portion of the bay and Contra Costa County.
Lastly, he also has a law degree and specializes in real estate law so he can help cover your bum with all the fine print and legal mumbo jumbo in your purchase contract. I obviously can’t rave enough about Cameron and his colleagues and I’m sure you will feel the same too!

About 6 mohts ago we were looking at open houses and met Cameron, showing a lotf in Jack London Square. We were very impressed at his knowledge of Oakland and his level headed approach to the market. He was not pressuring and we chatted with him for quite awhile. (All too many agents try immediately to find out if you have an agent and then push themselves on you, he did not.) My husband and I were so impressed that we kept the flyer with his name on it for a purchase, if we ended up choosing Oakland.
About 2 weeks later, I was chatting with a friend who had purchased in Jack London, as did another physician she knew, and I mentioned our experience. Without even telling her his name, she said «Oh, you must have met Cameron.»
Then in late June we were house hunting on the Oakland side and decided that we really wanted to make an offer on house that we had found. My first choice, go to Unilocal and find someone who represents the Rockridge area. Cameron’s name came up. So, I forwarded it to my husband, and they were communicating later that day.
Cameron met us at early or late hours to show us the house, to accomodate our very busy schedule. Arranged to meet with us again to see the house with an architect (at early hours). Was on top of all the paperwork, sending it to us via email with his comments and impressions of the disclosures. Sadly, our offer was not accepted on that house.
But that did not stop Cameron or the two of us for continuing to seek out and find our perfect home. After back and settled from vacation, we started up looking online again for places. Cameron continued to send us listings he thought might excite us. One did. We coordinated, again at odd hours, to see the place. I loved it and SG was warm to it, as long as all the numbers worked.
It fit our criteria, had everything we need and all the numbers worked!!! Cameron was again on top of his game. We put together an offer via email and fax and phone calls, Cameron presented it in person to the seller and agent, and we were accepted. Every step of the excrow process, Cameron was communicating to keep us up on what was going on. He worked to correct little snags and kept us on track. Escrow closed a week ago and we are all moved in. Cameron has still kept in touch to make sure everything is going smoothly. He has even tracked down some information for us on the house so that we can make improvements.
I have experienced purchases with my parents, 1 purchase on my own before this and my husband has purchased 4 homes in his life. I think it is honest to say, that in our experience, Cameron is the best agent we have ever worked with. Thoughtful, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, dedicated to you throughout your purchase (or sale), and very thorough. We will definitely use him again and recommend to all of our friends and family looking for an agent in the East Bay.
