Dryclean Image

I was referred to this place by another dry cleaner down the street from it. I needed my furniture slipcovers cleaned. They are original slipcovers for a Pottery Barn sleeper sofa and PB chair.
Dryclean Image looked at my slipcovers, took down my information and said they’d call me the next day with an estimate, and issued me a printout of the items I was dropping off. The next day, they called me with an estimate which sounded reasonable given (1) I didn’t have much luck washing the slipcovers myself in my washer/​dryer at home despite multiple batches and cycles, (2) an expense for «proper’ cleaning once every 10 years doesn’t sound like bad idea, and (3) I couldn’t, for the life of me, find any other Unilocal reviews/​experience of slipcover cleaning in the area.
They said the covers would be ready in a week if I could go in again and give a small deposit. A week later, they were ready. When I returned home with them, I found that each cover was neatly folded so that when I installed on the furniture and pillows, the covers were minimally creased. They were snug when I put them back on, but this was no different from when I had washed/​cleaned them at home. The covers still fit with a bit of pulling and tugging.
When I dropped off the covers, I didn’t point out any special areas to treat. When I look at them now, I see that formerly coffee-​tea-​and-​wine-​stained skirt area as well as other long-​ago stained areas were diminished. They also seemed to have removed the blue denim stain the chair had taken on. To me, this demonstrates pride in a job well done.
Overall, I’m very pleased with this business and the results and would take my slipcovers here again.
I would’ve given them 5 stars IF:
— Parking wasn’t such a pain downtown and if there was a 5 – 10 minute loading zone out front. It was rather inconvenient to be lugging around heavy items for drop-​off and pick-​up.
— They were a «green» cleaner. That would be ideal.
Tip: If you’re interested in getting your slipcovers cleaned here, call or talk to the guy who’s there in the morning before stopping in (sorry, but I didn’t get his name!).

Haven’t had any complaints, there hasn’t been a stain they couldn’t get out when they marked the tape, or some damaged shirt or coat when I got it back.
Dress shirts cleaned at 99 cents per shirt, you can get it next day at 4pm without paying extra. It’s convenient for me since I work close by.
One moment I appreciate… I have this old peacoat that I’ve had since freshman year in high school. I carry more sentimental value for it than anything, but the lining is pretty torn up after 10+ years. I showed it to one of the guys there and he suggested it’s not worth it to get fixed, that new lining would probably cost $ 150 to $ 200 and I could get a new coat for that much. I was naïve and he probably could have taken the job and rung up the bill on me, but I’m glad he didn’t. So overall no complaints. except the guy on mornings is a Giants fan… On second thought, he’s pretty cool too.

Summary based on several visits over years:
–good place for shirts
–at least average for dry cleaning
–good service and results
–reasonable prices, usually cheapest in immediate area

A couple of days ago, I was going to write a very positive review for this cleaner that is close to my work and always has a quick turnaround. Now, I realize why it is so quick. I dropped off pants for cleaning and they gave me the usual next day after 4pm pick up time. After I picked them up, took it home and was going to wear them, I realized that the pants were barely cleaned if at all. There were still worn-​creases (e.g., behind the knee and below the zipper /​aka crotch areas)! Geez, what a RIP OFF. I need another dry cleaner!

I am really unhappy with my experience with this place.
Ok, so to be fair to them I had a complicated request. I have a white pleated skirt that needed to be dry cleaned, so they would have to flatten it out and re-​iron the pleats when it was cleaned. But to be fair to me, I explained to them that it was going to be a little extra work to dry clean it and re-​iron the pleats. I don’t mind paying extra for the extra work, but I need the work to actually get done. I had taken it to two other places and they had both said it was too much work, and sent me to this place. I explained to them carefully what exactly I wanted, and that I needed to wear it on Sunday (I dropped it off on Tuesday), and they assured me they could do it, and that they would have it done by Friday.
Friday rolls around. I call them to see if it’s done. They say they didn’t do it because of the pleats. I say it would have been nice if they would have told me as soon as they decided they couldn’t do it, so that I would have time to find someone else do it. They put me on hold. The guy comes back and tells me that they did in fact dry clean it but couldn’t do the small alteration I requested.
That is fine…
But the kicker is that I went there to get it, I looked at it, and IT HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED. At all! It was dirty. I showed them that it wasn’t one tiny bit cleaner than it was when I left it. They shrugged and said that they weren’t responsible for un-​removable spots that remained after the dry cleaning.
It’s not a matter of spots that wouldn’t come out, I still don’t believe they touched the thing. I want to believe that they at least tried, but I can’t see any evidence to support that theory. And they charged me for a cleaning. I simply didn’t have time to find someone else to do it before Sunday, so I took it home and washed it by hand, and all the dirt that I pointed out came out.
I feel totally ripped off. If they couldn’t do it, they shouldn’t have agreed to do it, and at the very least they should have called me when they decided that they couldn’t do it, and at the VERY least they shouldn’t have charged me for something that they didn’t even do and expect me not to know the difference.

Wow, I expected there to be at least one Unilocal review. Although this place’s name seems awkward (clean an image?), this is a new work neighborhood for me, and a friend recommended this joint.
99 cents per dress shirt! Way less than the $ 3 per shirt, for LaundryLocker at my condo. And the servicewoman is very friendly. I also love that they have computerized claimchecks, complete with the check number, their address and phone number, your name and customer number, the clocked-​in dropoff date and time, the pickup date and time, the detailed itemization, and the amount due.
