PLEASE READ — UNLESS YOU ARE BILL GATES
I have used Fed Ex Print Centers many times in the past, and pleased with the service. Prior to Oakland I used the San Leandro location on Marina Dr to print from a USB stick and make copies. I had no issues, the staff was knowledgable, accessible & friendly.
So I thought nothing of using Fed Ex again while in Oakland, matter of fact I was overjoyed when I googled a location on Sunday afternoon, the 49ers were pathetic and I was looking for any excuse to quit watching. According to the Fed Ex website the Ship location on Pardee was open until 5pm It was a little over a mile away, a walk I could do with the dogs and make in time.
We get there and the place is closed!!!
Not a soul around and sign on the door says SUNDAY: CLOSED. Okay…
Next day, Monday, I get a late phone call — I need to email documents on my USB stick to my insurance company and they must be there today!!!
I head to the Fed Ex Print Center at 3070 E. 9^th Ave. in Oakland.
There is a wait for a PC, because at this location you can sit in a chair in front of the PC and hold it until your friend arrives??? 30 minutes later.
Perfectly okay one of the staff tells me.
I finally get a PC and sit down to email this file. Insert USB stick, open Mozilla, log in to email and begin process. Only to get a message that Mozilla is out of date. To continue I need to download new version!!!
So I close Mozilla open Explorer and same thing happens!!!
I start to download current version of Explorer. This thing is loading SLOWLY while my credit card is being charged.
I’M THINKING THIS IS NOT RIGHT. I’M BEING CHARGED TO UPDATE SOFTWARE THAT WILL BE DELETED WHEN I LOG OUT? SOMEONE HAS A SCAM GOING, AND CAN THIS EVRN BE LEGAL?
I ask a staff person if this was correct. They’re not sure. They’ll ask another person. No one comes back so I speak loudly across to the counter asking if this is right? They respond yes, that is how Fed Ex operates.
The guy sitting next to me is leaving, he said same thing happened with him.
HE JUST PAID OVER $ 42 TO DOWNLOAD AND EMAIL 2 DOCUMENTS.
IM NOT PAYING THAT.
ALMOST $ 10 HAS ALREADY BEEN CHARGED TO UPDATE THIER SOFTWARE.
I ask for a rebound. Nope.
I email fed ex. I get replies but no actions, always being told I have wrong department.
I’VE SPENT A COUPLE HOURS TO GET LESS THAN $ 10 BACK???
Not worth it. I’ll let others on Unilocal know the game.
Ps. The OFFICE DEPOT across the parking lot took my stick and emailed the file to me in less that 5 MINUTES.
TOTAL COST FROM OFFICE DEPOT — $ 0
They wouldn’t accept a penny. So I went and bought 2 gift cards from Starbucks.
Office Depot gets it — CUSTOMER SERVICE WINS.
ILL NEVER USE FED EX AGAIN. I MAKE THAT QUITE CLEAR WHEN I SHOP ON AMAZON.

The staff here are great. They offered to box up a bulky motorcycle seat. I wish I would have gotten her name so I could call her out. She made my day.
A total pro. I would hire her in a flash

Conveniently located though service can be slow. Staff are courteous, just seems like their computerized cashier system runs slow. Good enough to print, FAX, and send packages. Can’t complain.

Young Brotha man behind the counter took care of me. I needed to get some laminates done and buy some business solution tools and he was a huge help. The store was clean and the line was moving pretty fast. Cool spot to get business done quickly.

For a company that advertises it’s printing, this location certainly does not put it’s money where it’s mouth is. There was only one computer that was working, and the guy working was completely unhelpful in getting what I needed printed. He kept saying he had several projects he had to complete, and if I had to, I could E-​mail it to their E-​mail address and they would print it on one of the many computers behind the counter that were working. But after e-​mailing it (and letting him know it was e-​mailed), he still made me wait until he finished his «projects». Never in a million years could a successful business put a «project» before a waiting customer. When he was finally ready to print my E-​mail, the one computer became available, and the cost to print per page was way more expensive than I expected. I will never bring my business here again — instead, I will go to the store a block away where they are much more helpful and cheaper.

Never got a call, email, text, or any notification of my package arrival. They finally called on the last day that the package could be picked up and I was told if it wasn’t picked up by 6pm they would send it back. I explained to them this was the first time that I heard that they had the package, and that I might not be able to make it before 6pm but would without a doubt be there before closing. They refused to work with me. Saying that policy is to send back after five days. I asked about why I wasn’t informed earlier of the package arrival. They said they were sorry and didn’t know what happened. So they have a policy to inform you of package arrival which they didn’t follow, but refuse to budge on a policy of returning an item that isn’t picked up by a certain time. Why not work with a customer? Just be human, you made a mistake in not informing me, why not give me an extra hour to come pick up the package?

Waited until computer is free to scan a doc and email it.
When it was became vacant, I asked for help to operate it and the person behind the counter said they’re closed, pointing at the clock above him. Yes it was after 8 in a few minutes, but I was already there before 8 and the doors were open to customers when I left. The worker recommended that I go to the alameda location, TO ALAMEDA! Just to scan a few papers.
Not happy…

The customer service here is just sad. The two guys working had the potential of giving great service. they probably are really great employees any other day. You can tell they were really nice guys. Just not on Saturday. They probably didn’t have a lot of business that day until I walked in. Because when I did they were too busy looking at girls on facebook, uploading photos and updating their facebook status on their work computers. They were also cursing and calling each other «gay» every 5 mins. They didn’t notice me standing there until I said something. It took 20 mins just for them to make 10 copies of a photo on cardstock. Other Kinko’s have done this in less than 10mins with other customers around.
It took so long because the guy wasn’t finished uploading photos to facebook to help me with my job. He kept going back online to look at his profile in between helping me. I didn’t care too much, because in the end the job was done great. but they can’t take credit for that– its the printer that was good. But I just wished that paid more attention to the job a hand. The cursing and bro-​talk between the employees made the whole experience awkward.

Small FedeEx Office but convenient. Staff are generally pretty helpful here, but sometimes there are a lot of customers and service can be slow due to that. Copy machines seem to be well maintained always.

Has the worse customer service I’ve ever experienced at a Kinko’s. I was told I should go to another Kinko’s when I asked about printing from a usb device. They allowed a gentleman to just sit in front of the computer, though he was not using it and then tell me to go to another location. Then when I needed assistance with printing error, the only free customer rep said I needed to talk to the other rep who was helping another customer. I was paying for my time on the computer while I had to wait — the agent with no customers was so unhelpful. All he cared about was checking his cellphone text messages. I spent over $ 60 and it was a terrible experience. You should get more professional and knowledgeable individuals to help customers. The agent who was free most of the time I was there and did not help me offered to help a customer print a document offer her usb when I was leaving. I don’t get why I was not offered the same service but instead told to go to another location. I will never support another Fedex location whether it be for printing or shipping services based on this one experience. I had been a longtime customer since college — I’m so upset that I wasted money and time with FedEx.
NEVER AGAIN!!! Corporate customer service is just as atrocious… it starts at the top.

THIS PLACE is SUPERB. I have a recording studio and am regularly shipping recording equipment I am selling, and Voltaire, Eric, and Rickey’s packing jobs of my nice gear are nothing short of exceptional. They pack stuff so well you could throw a package off of a 10 story building and not have the contents damaged, which is GREAT, because God knows what happens to a package in transit. This business is in a large shopping center and there is always available (and free) parking, and there’s a Starbucks next door if you need some caffeine. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Voltaire, Eric, and Rickey are truly phenomenal at what they do (at least for my needs) and have always been a pleasure to work with. This place rocks.

I had shipped a large order early in the day and then had to change its shipping location later. Both times I was received with great, friendly service and a smooth process. I am really impressed and would recommend this location for shipping!

I could have helped myself to go find me ID while they helped 5 people in line.
Very good computers though and cool little shopping center location.

I visited the store to have them scan one of my drawings. They ran it through a machine with a feeder (seriously!) which completely destroyed the original artwork. The scan was unusable. Corey (the guy at the store) didn’t even apologize. The manager didn’t help either. So disappointing!

I’m disappointed in Fedex Corp’s service, but the local fedex office did a great job and really appreciate them helped out my business shipment.
Fedex does not have a clear statement on what to put on the shipment package, my shipment was international and after i spent $ 500 on my international shipment it returned back to me the next day say the description wasn’t clear enough. I have to pay the shipping fee again! which is another $ 500.
After long talk with fedex people over the phone and Voltaire and Corey helped me out and got the situation in control and took care of the package and took care of the payment issue.
It’s holiday season and knowing that they are really busy and still took the time and help me. Took a lot of time off their hand but they earned a repeat customer.

guess this used to be a kinko’s. fed ex center now. only 4 machines seen. pretty small space.
yep, lt’s true. only one person on duty.
had to drop off a prelabled package. clerk noticed me in line with same. told me i could leave it behind the counter. cool! in & out within 5 minutes.
wouldn’t come here for the other services though unless i had time to kill.

If I didnt get along with the folks who work here, I would write a horrible review for this place. I always end up spending double the time I intend to here because there is usually only ONE person working the counter and printing takes FOREVER. Not to mention all the fake (or real, idk) business people that come in here and haven’t the slightest clue how to send an email or cut the edges off a poster. You people kill me!
But like I said, the people who work here make it worthwhile because they «hella coo» and make me feel better about wasting so much time in this place. ugh

This is a great place with a lot of resources if you find yourself without a fax machine, printer or copier. In addition, if you need to ship anything via Fedex you can do that as well. I’ve pretty much used every service except for shipping. The staff was helpful but, pretty much everything is self explanatory. There are instructions on all the machines to help you along. But, if you can’t read good the staff is ready and available to help you.

On a busy day this location had one, only one, staff member working. She managed to be graceful, greet every person who walked in, resolve everyone’s problem, and do it efficiently.
Kudos for packing my stuff for shipping too.
Absolutely wonderful, and parking is in a private lot of the shopping center, so the Oakland Parking Nazis can’t touch you when you «only had to drop something off in a minute» world.
