Glass Mechanix

GMX came as a recommendation from a friend who was pleased with their service. GMX (Shawne) was on time, very courteous and the replacement windshield on my 2010 Mercedes was perfect. This was not my first windshield replacement. Shawne noticed that the rain sensor was disconnected (from the first time it was replaced by Safelite Glass). I wondered why my wiper blades no longer automatically came on when it rained. I appreciate his thoroughness and highly recommend GMX. I would use again should I need another replacement glass.

My car got broken into on Saturday night so, on sunday morning no repair businesses were answering the phone except glass mechanix. He ordered my window and came to install at my job on Monday morning. It was done in 30 min and 2 weeks later, so far so good!

I really didn’t want to leave a bad Unilocal review because Shawne was so nice and accommodating when he replaced my window. However, the window repair was not a good one. After it was replaced I had electrical problems with that window and when I took my car into the mechanic for another issue I had them take a look. Turns out Shawne had not properly plugged everything back in when he had done the replacement. That was why my driver side door wasn’t locking (big security issue).
Yesterday, about a year and a half later, my window rolled completely off track. When I took it to my local glass repair place they told me the problem was the window replacement was not done correctly which was why my window rolled off track. The window, when replaced, wasn’t primed which is apparently a very basic part of the replacement process.
I wouldn’t recommend Glass Mechanix simply because I have spent $ 120+ fixing the errors of this window replacement.

I needed windshields replaced on two different vehicles, and basically needed them taken care of the following day, as we were leaving town. Glass Mechanix came to my residence, at the time that I was promised, and were extremely professional and courteous. They were very knowledgeable and clearly explained how to care for the new windshields until they were completely cured. I was very impressed with their service and would recommend them to anyone in need.
***I am having to revise my original review of Glass Mechanix. One of the seals on the window glass became loose and was blowing around when we drove. We contacted Sean at Glass Mechanix and told him of our problem. He said he could come out to make the repair, however, it would not be covered under any warranty because he had not ever been paid by the company he subcontracted out from (Cascade Glass). I remembered that I had actually contacted Cascade, who sent Sean out to do the work, so I decided to contact Cascade directly. They said that Sean at Glass Mechanix was no longer working for them, but they would be happy to send someone out as our new windshield was certainly warrantied. Sean was very rude on the phone when he called to tell him we spoke with Cascade and that we knew he had not been truthful with us regarding our windshield being under warranty.
