My nephew was coming into town from out of state and I wanted to offer him something fun and different from the Mid-West boredom he was accustomed to. Yari’s drum circle turned out to be a perfect choice. He’s such a great teacher. Both me and my nephew were a little daunted at the prospect of trying to drum in public, since neither of us had much skill. But Yari’s way of teaching made picking up the basics easy and fun. He’s energetic, patient, and so clearly knows what he’s doing and how to do it that it’s impossible NOT to learn something from him. We both really enjoyed it, and I would definitely do it again.

It’s been so much fun drumming with Yari. He’s a terrific teacher who really cares about his students and finds imaginative yet simple ways to tap into the basics of rhythm. Our group was playing some fantastic beats within a few sessions. I find Yari to be a gifted listener who is able to tailor his instruction to the learning styles of everyone in the room. His class is a rare treat and is highly recommended.

Yari is one of those awesome guys you wouldn’t know how talented they are from the first time you met them. Then they sit down with you, and start, step by step, to teach you their talent. And as somehow, whatever they do makes it so EASY to learn you can barely believe it. Yari is one of those people, and his talent is rhythm and drums. If you want to learn all about connecting your body to rhythm, if you want it to be easy and if you want it to be fun, awesome, playful, and dynamic, you’ll want to take one of Yari’s classes!

My intention is to empower people to connect to rhythm and drumming as a gateway for communing with self, spirit, and others.
