We ordered a Reuben on rye from this place, and it was the BEST EVER! Everything about the sandwich was AMAZING! Definitely going to be ordering from here again!

First time here. Ordered a turkey cheese panini. Made fresh and hot. Bread was perfectly toasted and neat, not messy. For $ 7 you could do much worse. The guys working here are friendly. Jimmy himself rang me up and was very gracious!

I lost my wallet today and went all the way back to Lakeshore and found it. But the travel from my close to my job, and back to lakeshore on public transportation took up most of my time. I ended up catching a bus downtown to grab food before I headed to work, and found this nice little place close to my transferring bus stop. I grabbed a BLT and a drink. This place is really nice. Service is lovely and friendly. It’s fairly small, but still really nice and clean inside.

These guys are the best. Totally underrated spot in downtown Oakland for sandwiches and snacks. They do a killer breakfast sandwich for those days that you just need a quick grab-​n-​go breakfast meal. Their lunch sandwiches are top notch too– all the fixings made just like you like them. Chips and snacks selection is way better than others in the area, and they have healthy snacks (nuts, fruit, bars) to choose from as well.
I’d say the best things about this spot are the service, and the affordability. Too many places out there charge too much for a sandwich, and don’t give you nearly as warm smiles or conversations. These guys will hook you up, and make you want to come back on the regular for their delicious sandwiches.

Great sandwich shop, friendly owners, lots of selection (pretty much a sandwich shop + café + the food part of a convenience store).
I’m not from the area, and when I told them where I parked (on the street) they got really concerned and had me park in the parking lot while I ate my quick lunch.
The panini was nice and hot, just as I ordered it.

Nice guys, good sandwiches, decent prices, and a surprisingly clean place. All of the bread and meat tasted fresh and the avocado was delicious. Great spot to check out for a quick lunch.

Didn’t expect to have one of the best sandwiches ever when Joe Kapp and I were in Oakland for the Proverb Jacobs book signing at the African American Museum and Library. Walking around the area we found this little deli and ended up loving it. Now I will have to drive from San Jose to Oakland once per month for lunch.

I went recently because I was craving a cheap bagel and the experience was so-​so. I got a $ 4 cream cheese, avocado, and bacon bagel which was pretty good (had better in Oakland) and a regular snapple. The price ended up being $ 7.90. I used debit but it was ran as credit so I’m guessing I got the $ 1 surcharge. However, I thought the total was still steep for just a bagel and snapple. My advice for future patrons is use cash and ask about price and tax before you pay. You don’t see the an itemized list at the register or card receipt.

This place is one of the best finds I’ve made during my week of stay in Oakland. Their grilled chicken salads are fresh and huge! The staff is two brothers and they offer great service and conversation. They are friendly and very attentive and offer several different types of drinks, sandwiches, and snacks. Love this place!

I really like this spot (though I always get it to go).
There are two men who seem to run the operation, a cook and a front-​clerk. The two of them are funny, passionate and remember their regulars. You can tell they take pride in what they do. And whoever mentioned that you can smell the bacon ½ block away (on Unilocal review) was right. I found this place by following my nose!
The Pros:
–The sandwich is always made relatively quick
–The customer service is top notch
–The choices are great
–Much of their menu is rock solid quality (I have only had the turkey club, the ruben, the chicken salad).
The Cons:
–They don’t run AC or have any ventilation, so it’s hot as hell in there
–They charge $ 1 for card

I love sandwiches and this place was great! Their avocado sandwiches have an evenly distributed amout of avocado with their ingredients, making you have the best in every bite. The people working there are very friendly and want to make sure you get exactly what you ordered and to your liking. Will most likely be back when I’m the area.

Wow — I haven’t written about my favorite East Bay deli in awhile, but Jimmy’s now has a great selection of protein bars, low sugar, and organic items. They even have gluten free stuff, which kind of blows my mind for a deli. I’ve always loved coming here for great service and to chat with the very cool owners. But now the selection is even better. Nice work, fellas! Very happy customer here!

If you smell a strong scent of bacon when you’re walking to your destination in the morning, you know Jimmy’s is close by. The guys here are the bomb! They’re so friendly and actually make you feel like they WANT to conversate with you because they’re great people, not because they HAVE to.
I like stopping in here for a quick breakfast or to grab a snack. They now have a bunch of healthy snacks. There’s a variety of fruit and nut bars, kombucha, and even fresh juices. My friends have said good things about the falafel and shawarmas as well. Check it out!

Service is fast and reliable. The recommend dish is the Grilled Club Sandwich and it’s very good. Nice chunk of breast chicken on a well prepared sandwich that whets the appetite. Would come here again as the prices are reasonable.

Who are these guys? Sammy? George? I’m not sure where they come from but they have to be the nicest guys running the cleanest sandwich shop in Downtown Oakland. While one of the guys made my delicious Hot Pastrami on Marble Rye the other stood guard over my car parked in front since the Parking Kiosk was out of order and they didn’t want me to get a ticket. I ordered the sandwich and a side Cesar Salad to go and the Brothers gave me a Banana as a Welcome present since it was my first time there. This is a perfect example of how far great customer service and a smile will go to bring customers back to your Shop!
Thanks Jimmy’s Snacks & Deli… I’ll definitely be back… Great Fair Prices as well…
