Good prices and service and my favorite good food. Price reminds me of a guate kitchen. Had Aguas fresas both good not too sweet. Ordered tostadas while wait pretty tasty one with beans, one with avocado, one with salsa(not spicy & my fave) Pork tamales smaller than I’m use to but still good like to put lemon over mines. For dessert had rellenitos fried banana with fresh black beans in center good also like to sprinkle sugar on them. like the tastes all very similar to guatemala

On behalf of Xicana Moratorium Coalition we want to appreciate Las Marianas for their donation to support the 36th Annual Xicana Moratorium Day, where we will be bringing attention to the Third World Liberation – One Land One People, taking place August 30th, 2015 from 12−5pm at San Antonio Park in Oakland. Their donation made possible this annual free event for people of color in the Bay Area.

Don’t let the neighborhood scare you off from this gem.(It can be sketchy after dark, but it’s fine otherwise.) Best taquitos I’ve ever tasted! I was determined to try something authentically Guatemalan, and the Jocon was delicious. The owners are super nice, too. I’m not in the neighborhood often, but I’d definitely go back.

It is really out of the way from where I work on Grand Avenue but I got a discount coupon so I figured, why not try it. I am certainly glad I did. My friend had the seafood soup. If we had only ordered that both of us would have had enough and been full. He actually had to ask for another bowl to divide it. It was incredible. Sure it was a delicious broth but was what was so amazing was the amount of seafood in it. I couldn’t believe it. A bunch of mussels, clams, prawns, a huge chunk of delicious fish, two crab legs, etc. I ordered the grilled shrimp which was also delicious but it was the soup that I will keep coming back for. Another reason to love this place. The bring you chips(hot from the oven) and a very spicy red sauce. I am partial to a green sauce so I asked if they had salsa verde. The young and sweet waitress is not all that proficient in English so she sent for a woman who I assumed was the boss/owner. I told her what I wanted and I didn’t understand why it didn’t come out immediately. Now I understand. She cooked up a fabulous green sauce and brought it to the table, warm. What a wonderful place. I’ll be back.

I was so stoked because this place showed up on Eat24 and looked so good. How cool is it to get a burrito delivered? I wanted to love this place, especially because of the convenience factor. We ordered the super burritos and there was no option to select meat, so we asked for grilled chicken in the instructions line. When they came they were steak, which was actually OK because we were torn between chicken and steak. However, it was so chewy we couldn’t actually bite through most of the meat and both abandoned our otherwise nicely crafted burritos. SAD!

Heard about this new Guatemalan restaurant from a friend of a friend, so I had to try it out right away. There is a surprising lack of Guatemalan food in the Bay Area, especially considering how many Guatemalans live here. And, Las Marianas is a wonderful entry into this space, with food and ambiance that feel much like a good Guatemalan comedor. It was wonderful to see Pepian, Jocon, Guatemalan tacos, fried plantains, black beans, and other platos tipicos chapines. I had a chile relleno, and as it should be, it was stuffed with ground beef and minced vegetables. Delicioso! I was there on opening day, so the service was extra attentive. So, if you are looking for something different and authentic, check this place out.
