I found this place on the way back to my car from a doctors appointment. I grew up in the East Bay and am now living near the tri-Valley area and it’s really hard to find anything even close to authentic out that way. I didn’t even check the reviews because honestly I was so hungry and I didn’t want to know what people thought lol. I ordered one lengua taco and two chicken tacos with A side of rice and beans. First off I don’t know who goes to a Taqueria to order a vegetarian burrito but to each their own, everything tasted freshly made and Teresa had great customer service. I will definitely try my best to come back here. Great food, Great customer service, awesome experience.

Time: 12:23pm/71°F partly sunny Purpose: Since Brown Couch closed and Mi Lindo took over. I wanted to give it a shot. It just looks so slow every time I walk by its 2 – 3 people. Ambiance: Couple of sidewalk tables while inside a ten seater with additional four at the counter. Flatscreen tv was on with univision mexican soap at medium volume. Inside sits about ten with additional four at counter. The counter itself with pastry case, mini fridge, self help utensils, stand up menu board, register, tip jar, jugs of aqua fresca. Color scheme is salmon color with dark wooden panels. Couple of gallery lights and ceiling fans, but it the stuffiness that irks me. It’s kinda stuffy making your clothes smells even, if you’re in and out within five minutes. Poor range hood ventilation is to blame here. Staff: Seems like a family run place. One older guy looks like the father along with a girl and boy. All three has a task, no free ride even for family members. As it goes father does the cook and prepping, daughter cashier and brother busboy. Easy to see who’s who. Cleanliness: Grade C-, disorganized counted with personal articles like clothing on counter area. Open bag of tortilla sat by itself in corner no one touch it since I sat down. Plates and silverware brought in, but left attended, beans getting hard stuck on plate. Dining area itself looks grungy. Better wipe down better sitting. Eats/Drinks: Lengua burrito $ 7.50. I was ask super or regular, I went with regular base on a advice of fellow Unilocaler. Good thing I chose regular, it wasn’t good at all. When I ask whole beans they said yes, but I was distracted with laptop message. When order arrive, it just look so mediocre without even taking a bite yet. Presentation looks like a kindergarten could’ve put it together. First bite, I look at center, I knew money wasted off the bat. It had refried beans and I ask for whole pinto or black. Lengua was so off that tabasco won’t help. Whole thing tasted like a frozen bean & cheese burrito. You know the type from 7 – 11, were you pick up wee hours of the morning after a night of drinking. I don’t need to go anything further on details, but take it from me you’re better elsewhere. Thank goodness for Victor G warn me in advance about the meat being fried here or else, I’ll be out another $ 1.10 selecting super size. Main Features: House specialties: 502-w/french fries, cheese, steak, sour cream, guacamole, onion, cilantro, tomato, salsa. Products/Services: Nachos, quesadillas, enchiladas, tacos, burritos, tortas, sides, desserts, hot/cold assorted drinks, jarritos, mexican coke and hot chocolate. Torani syrup, coffee by America’s Best, tea by Stash. Cash only. Punch Lines: Seats are minimal, harried staff, lackluster ambiance, snooty service, off putting, nothing out of the ordinary, sleeper, quite bland, not as great, go elsewhere, pretentious, itty-bitty, run down, family run. Tradeoffs: You better off going to Taco Bell. Mi Lindo is tex-mex, but below average tex-mex. Final Thoughts: I didn’t enjoy my burrito when I discovered refried beans were use. You ask me if I wanted cheese, I said yes no extra charge right? You said«yes». When I finished got up to pay I was charge $ 9.33 I handed a ten and drop change in tip jar. So, heres a quick break down. I got lie to about whole beans and cheese at no charge. Check was overcharge by $ 1.10 more. Look at my picture of your menu top right corner. No where on(sides) cheese is listed on there or saying extra cost. Get the menu right before serving the public. Remember that rap song from Ice Cube? Better check yourself before you wreck yourself? Hence, Ice Cube made it, because he check himself.

Truly awful. A $ 6.50 veggie burrito with old refried beans, crunchy rice, sad looking lettuce, and onions. Only. No salsa. Nothing approximating decent vegetables. Oversalted. Please avoid.

Mi Lindo Jalisco has the standard mexican menu plus coffee, mexican chocolate, aqua fresca, horchata, etc. took over the brown couch café spot. eats: chicken/steak tacos @1.80 –both chicken and steak prefried so essentially tasteless –accompanying yellow salsa very spcicy/hot. really has a kick, best part of the menu. brew: america’s best«columbian supremo»(m. 2) –freshly brewed, semi-smooth, bland not bold. –lengua, other proteins also available. only steak and chicken available. when i went.

Solid and delicious halal Mexican place. Standard menu of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, horchata, jarritos, and on and on. Ample indoor seating, with some nice outdoor seating in the sun during lunch time. Almost tastes like a delicious Afghan-Mexican fusion place, which is awesome. Meat is top notch. Will be back for more.
