Had cause to seek her services. I would rather walk on and eat glass shards than ever have to see this woman again. She was rude. Uncaring. Insensitive. She wanted us out of her office so quickly that she said medication was the only route and here’s the Rx… Very sad.

On the contraire, Dr. Miyamoto is very professional and understanding, my experience with her has been great. She is the professional and she knows what to do, if she asks questions its because she wants to get to the root of our problem, if someone feels personalized then the problem still there and needs resurface in order to heal.

I have never, in 10 years of receiving psychiatric care, been so disrespected by a physician. She refused to listen to my assessment of my mental health and refused to take action to address the issues I am having. Instead she pathologized and shamed me for things in my past, including events that were not under my control and problems that I’ve worked hard to address. She was so cold in her detached demeanor, asking scripted questions off a list with no regard to my answers. Dr. Galicki at Community Psychiatry’s San Francisco location is much more empathetic, kind, and worth the extra commute. Or see literally anyone else.

Didn’t get to see her very long but she provided good care and even continued some follow-up with me after I moved.

Dr. Miyamoto is a cold fish. And the practice is even more expensive than most shrinks around here. Don’t go there. Got a referral to Community Psychiatry Associates to see a doc about possible ADHD and anxiety. When I asked what the copay would be over the phone, they said«It depends, I wouldn’t be able to tell you without all your insurance info…» Turns out the first visit was $ 275! Dr. Satoko Miyamoto saw me for a rushed half hour — gave me some standard psych evals, barely conversing with me. At one point she told me to: «Describe your childhood in one word.» Now, I’ve seen a lot of psychologists and shrinks– that takes the cake. She is not cut out to deal with emotionally unbalanced, nuanced people. For charging top dollar she didn’t seem to have much intuition. I was regretful about spending all that dough on someone who sent me out with an order for a bunch of blood tests and a diagnosis which she did not bother to explain to me at all.
