We ordered shrimp pad sie ew & chicken pad Thai to go. Delicious! Pretty good pad Thai. My pad sie ew had mushrooms. Interesting textural dimension to the dish, considering I’ve had pad sie ew with cauliflower, only brocoli or Chinese brocoli, tomatoes, etc before. If you don’t like mushrooms, make sure to mention that. Fresh, fast, & friendly restaurant. Inside is clean & decently decorated. Recommend requesting for their hot sauce & toasted chilis. Added a flavorful touch to my dinner. I’d come back!

best fresh veggie spring rolls ever– they include avocado… very generous amounts of it no other Thai place does this. Love their pumpkin/squash curry; Pad See Ew is tasty… love their tiny“egg roll” added to the side of most dishes; Only once was there a problem. waitress was on the phone on an empty Tuesday afternoon, i sat and sat and she did not once stop taking the take away order .all it would have taken was a. moment to the caller. hand me a menu, tell me she would be right there. I walked out. usually service has been fantastic! it is a great place to dine.

I am impressed that they have a quinoa option too, I rarely see that. However, I wasn’t plan to be that good a girl, so decided to get the brown rice(healthy but not too healthy, medium, just like Goldilocks). Also, since I was in a rush, and the dish I originally wanted to order(an appetizer thinking it would be served quickly), the server voluntarily told me that dish would take 15 minutes to prepare, I appreciated that, so I decided to order something else instead.

I give Neecha a 4 on the basis they have a full vegetarian menu and my friend who is gluten-free was able to find something to eat! Yay! This is one of my favorite Thai places to go, convenient location and good food. My go to is the garlic shrimp rice plate simple on the basis they leave the shell on and get it a great crispy texture. It’s a greasy item but eating out for me is a luxury so I don’t mind it once in awhile. The wait service is not the best. It seems like they’re understaffed so if it is busy expect a wait for your food and not the most attentive table service. I recommend coming here for lunch and avoid dinner service if you can. They do take orders over the phone! I called during dinner, they told me 20 – 30 minutes and it was ready on time.

A very mediocre Thai restaurant. Last weekend we were craving for some Thai food, so we decided to come here. It was crowded, and the Unilocal reviews looked very promising; however, I actually found the food to be a bit disappointing. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken(thought it was a safe choice). But the noodles were overcooked and too thin. The sauce was super greasy and sweet, and overall the food was very bland. The service was not the friendliest, and our waitress was a bit impatient. The portions are big, and the prices are OK(around $ 12 for most dishes). I don’t recommend this place, as there are much better Thai restaurants around this area.

The curry noodle was nasty. Its full of old oil that taste terrible. Greasy as hell. Every bite is oil. Never seen a restaurant use that much oil. Service is bad. Only one waitress in the restaurant and she was in a hurry. Trying to close the register and counting money. I seriously don’t know how it gets the 4 stars. Unbelievable. Won’t go back for sure.

I appears someone working there is running a credit card scam. Right after I paid for my food several transactions were run against my account. Luckily, my cc company called me to close the account. NOTCOOL.

Everything off the vegetarian menu We made everything vegan(taking off the egg) Pad Thai: Probably my favorite dish. The noodles tasted amazing and I was a huge fan. The serving size was reasonable. Guai Tiew Rad Na: The gravy is fantastic as well as the noodles. I’m not a huge fan of gluten meat so I stayed away from those. The proportion of noodles to vegetables isn’t even. I felt like we could’ve used more noodles. Immortal Stir Fry(maybe something else I don’t really remember): I didn’t like this dish as much. It was a little too spicy for me, but I can’t take spicy food so that is probably why. There was only one scoop of rice, so I felt like there could have been more rice. There was a wait to get in since the restaurant was pretty small and only seated a few parties. And while I was waiting I saw the waitress wipe the chai and then the table with the same rag. Overall I had a good experience.

I think 4 stars is a little too much! Restaurant is in a great location, and the food is okay… I don’t really have any specific complaint, it’s just that it’s average. Nothing to rave about, and the fact that there are 2 other Thai restaurants within a 3 minute walk means I don’t feel compelled to return. The service was a little rushed, but they only had 2 waitresses working the night I went.

Okay Thai food but unremarkable. Pumpkin in curry was slightly bland and the rice was a little dry. Good vegetarian selections and quick service push it to three stars.

I definitely thought I’d written a review for Neecha Thai but clearly, I was wrong. Let’s fix that. This is honestly my favorite place to grab some Thai food in Oakland. Located off of Grand, near 580, it’s a small restaurant with solid food. Parking can be difficult on Grand so drove down a littler further, and there’s a parking lot to the right. You can also park under the freeway at Grand. Serving your standard Thai food, Neecha doesn’t exactly deviate from the norm and I’m cool with that. My food is always super flavorful and HOT(temperature). The service is quick and they are decently friendly but nothing over the top. It’s clean but small. The restaurant doesn’t have lots of seating so if you’re there waiting for a table, you will be standing. But ideally not for long as I said, the food is cooked quickly. I recommend the Pad Kee Mao(drunken noodles) and for soups, the Tom Ka with chicken. So yeah, check em out if you’re in the mood for some Thai.

Total fan. Love the lunch specials and LOVE all the vegetarian options they have here. I would say it is one of my top thai places and I cannot wait to go back.

Came in here randomly on a walk through Oakland. What a pleasant surprise! Some of the best yellow curry I’ve ever had. Very flavorful, great balance of meat, potatoes and veggies. I read that some people request peanut sauce on the side but I didn’t find it necessary. Not too spicy, and large enough portions to take some home. Also ordered the Tom Ka(coconut) soup which was delicious. It was a great combination of tangy and sweet, not too much one or the other. The only headache was that the mushrooms are pretty large and have multiple heads, which makes it a bit clumsy to eat. The service was only decent, but I’d go back. Food was def worth it

Fast service and good food. Ordered the muk krob(calamari), lumpia style vegi spring rolls, papaya salad, and pumpkin curry.

This place has bomb food. I have a small stomach but I can wolf a plate of curry down by myself. Yellow curry is where it’s at! Loving the carrots and potatoes and of course the curry itself. Pad Thai, garlic shrimp, and grilled short ribs are also delicious dishes. The chicken skewers aren’t the best I’ve ever had but they’re alright. Papaya salad and corn cakes are also just okay. Roti and Chocolate lava cake is alright. Was looking forward to mango sticky rice but they don’t have it since it isn’t in season. This place gets busy and isn’t big so I would come with maybe a group of two or three, four at most. It’s insanely hard to find parking here due to the proximity of many other restaurants and the Grand Lake theater.

Not bad for a quick Thai dinner, but the food is just average. I ordered the noodle soup w/beef with the the thick rice noodles. The portion was large, but the broth needed extra flavor. The beef was also a little on the tough side and tasted a bit freezer burnt. But otherwise, it was enough to satisfy my appetite. My Fiancé ordered the pad thai — which actually tasted pretty good. It came with a nice slice of watermelon too. Not sure if it because it was Friday night, but they were busy and the service is pretty quick.

I enjoy this place. My favorite is the yellow curry with a side of peanut sauce. They have a rich selection of spices and the host is great at explaining how to pair them with your meal. The location is great. After your done eat you can enjoy the scenery and other local shops. And if you want to be romantic you can take a walk near the lake.

Best Thai place I’ve ever been outside of thailand. I love the creativity and thoughtfulness put into the dishes. My friend and I ordered: Pad thai Yellow curry chicken(I think) Pad thai noodles were the thinner than most restaurants which is pretty hard to find. Very very spicy and flavorful. Good ratio of green onions, eggs, onions, and meat to the noodles. I really appreciated the salad prepped on the plate because the vinaigrette complemented the heavy pad thai well. There was also one little egg roll that was a fun and cute side haha. They also added a watermelon slice which was awesome. To the restaurant owners: I’d keep the salad and watermelon on separate plates. It’ll make the customer feel like they’re getting a lot of freebie stuff if it’s multiple plates. Thanks so much! Really enjoyed my experience at Neecha Thai!

Day of visit 12/26, 12÷27÷14 Great to be reunited with my favorite Thai restaurant. Neecha used to have a location in San Francisco on Sutter at Steiner. I was bummed out when they closed. But here in Oakland their food tastes exactly the same that I remember. Food is still very tasty and service friendly. *Muk Krob($ 8.25) Deep fried calamari with caramelized red onions cooked in this yummy sweet chili paste. Heavenly yummy and topped with crunchy Thai basil, like basil chips. Neecha is so far the only restaurant that srves this dish. I love it! *Gai Ka Prow($ 7.95) Sauteed minched chicken with Thai chili, basil with chunks of carrots, zucchini and shredded onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers. I like it spicy but it can be ordered not spicy. The sauce is the best, sopped up with rice. *Garlic Short Ribs($ 16.95) served grilled, beef marinated, with a hint of garlic-=wasabi flavor. It’s usually served with sticky rice if you can ask for white rice. Beef is very tender. I know there are so many Thai places now and even on Grand Avenue, where Neecha is, there are two on the same block. This place is very special. The have some of the best appetizer dishes for sharing. Other than the Muk Krob as I mentioned, their corn fritters are tasty. Neecha serves very unique Thai dishes that you might not find at Thai restaurants elsewhere in the Bay Area, owing to the owner’s Thai-Issan background. Half of the menu is vegetarian.
