Not that we expect Kaiser’s eye care to shine and dazzle, but today’s experience showed me that their bar can get very very low indeed.
I have to admit — I was a few minutes late for my appointment. I lost unforeseen minutes waiting in crowds for Kaiser’s elevators that never came, winding through their lot looking for parking, etc. So, when I finally got through the line and to the counter, I was at least comforted that 9 minutes late doesn’t usually mean a cancellation.
My first indication of problem was on the face of the receptionist when she heard the name «Neil Rosen». She made a face, and told me that he is a prickly, grumpy man. She then tried to ring him, but he did not answer. We were told by the other receptionist that he was up on the forth floor, and I sat down to wait for him,
Thirty minutes later the receptionist called me back, and said that she had spoken to him, and it was now too late to meet with me.
Are you f**cking kidding me? I booked time off of work, I paid for parking, and waited patiently for awhile, to hear that an eye doctor who didn’t care to be around for an appointment would casually cancel like that? (that Kaiser supports this behavior is another story).
Don’t waste your time — find an eye doctor that doesn’t make his team afraid, or uncomfortable, and that treats patients with respect.
