The service is great. The food is perfect. The prices beyond reasonable. Nikko’s has become my new favorite place. Try the Hobo burger! It’s mind blowing!

Came here around 3am a couple days ago. It was the only place open that we could think of since some of us were hungry or thirsty. I shared a ham and cheese omelet with my boyfriend which also came with hash browns and toast. The omelet was good. There wasn’t anything super outstanding about it. The hash browns were disappointing. I usually love hash browns but these seemed to not be cooked all the way. It wasn’t crispy enough and was mostly just mush. The lady who served us was nice and helped us as much as possible. I probably wouldn’t choose to come back ere unless I was really hungry late at night since this place is 24 hours.

This restaurant is that kind of restaurant that you go to after a long night of drinking and you want to grab diner food and you don’t want to go to Denny’s. Nick’s reminds me of a Waffle House but just a little more homey. You’ll probably run into the someone you know from time to time if you live in the Oakland area. Every time I’ve gone to Nick’s its tasted delicious. Well anything tastes good whenever you’ve had a couple of drinks beforehand. But I wouldn’t complain if I went them sober. Only thing I could really complain about is the interior. It’s a little outdated but I mean, it is a diner. The servers are nice and are usually conversational. They probably see a lot of drunk groups come in and out of the restaurant. Overall, this is my go to stop for late night munchies in Oakland. They’re open late!

I have been looking for a good old American style neighborhood coffee shop in or close to Alameda. Had gone to Jim’s in Alameda for years but it is no longer an option because of poor service and food not cooked as ordered and delivered cold. Found it five minutes away just on the other side of the Park street bridge at Nikkos in Oakland. It’s down home a little gritty but clean. Both times I had breakfast everything was cooked as ordered. The second time I was there the owner recognized my order knowing I was a new repeat customer cooked it himself then came out to check and make sure everything was satisfactory. Two obvious regulars also gave me a friendly greeting? I have driven by this place hundreds of times and never stopped in. Really glad I did and suggest anybody looking for a gold old fashioned American diner meal give it a try.

For 5 years I passed this place. For 5 years I wondered why there was a diner in the middle of nowhere between Oakland and Alameda. For 5 years I went to the Denny’s in Emeryville when you just want someone else to cook at 2:30am. For 5 years I missed out. Nikko’s is what’s right about Oakland. Old. Overlooked. Gritty. Underrated. Sometimes forgotten. But, kinda perfect in its imperfections. The people are genuine. They are just trying to make a buck and get by. The place has seen its share of struggle over the years(including twice being hit by a runaway car). The menu looks average, but the food definitely exceeded our expectations. The burger was cooked just right. The eggs and potatoes were on point. The grits were a bit average. The soup was tasty. Everyone at our table loved what they had. I sent my compliments to the cook and he came out to say hello. You show some love, love is shown back. That’s how we roll in Oakland.

No stars from me. It used to be a good place to go to but I have never felt disgusted like I did today. The time I was here I spend it trying to kill a fly that kept trying to land on our food. One lady made a salad for one of us we saw her put her phone down grab two hand full of lettuce and put it on a plate wipe her hands on her jeans and grabbed two slices of tomatoes and put it on top. My smoothie was the best thing there. My girlfriend ordered this stake sandwich that you couldn’t chew I traded her my plate because I felt bad but damn the stake was not cooked at all. I order my stake medium well always but this was raw. The sausage tasted like rubber to me. Look I’m not trying to tell people not to come here you can try the food yourself if it taste good to you then go for it. I don’t like to write bad reviews shoot it sucks that I have too. This place change from what I remember. Sorry to say I will not be coming here no more. This was the first restaurant that I had to leave just to go home and trow up.

Boyfriend lived across the street from here, and we were never inspired to give this place a try until an Über driver reccomended it… Probabaly one of the few 24⁄7 non-chain diners out there, but it is mediocore at best. It doesn’t seem like Nikko cares though, as the décor and overall vibe match expectations exactly. Menu pictures look like a Microsoft Word Art masterpiece. Ordered 2 portions of number 4 — sausage/hashbrowns/eggs/biscuit. Took a LONG time for the food to come out… not sure if normal but the friendly waitress did apologize. She looked so tired. Anyways back to the food. Required pepper to make up for lack of flavor in(scrambled) eggs and hashbrowns. Eggs runny, biscuit dry. Sausage patties were OK, although on the fatty side. Ordered milk, no reduced fat option. Boyfriend also got a coffee. $ 26 total, which seems quite expensive for the quality of food received. … well. Now we know not to come here next time.

This is the best greasy spoon I’ve encountered in a long time. I’ve been meaning to go for years because I love weird little diners. Food is good– much better than I’d expected. Coffee was REALLY good, which is a bonus since I drink it black. Service is extraordinarily friendly. Our waitress was super sweet to our squirrelly toddler. See if you can get one of the staff to give you some background on the place. It has an interesting history! I’ll definitely be back!

This was near Highland hospital which I was visiting. I wanted to have breakfast early, and this is a 24-hour café, so I settled on Nikko’s. It looks okay. It’s what you would expect from a place out in the middle of what seems to be an industrial park. Perhaps the local workers have breakfast here as well. Personally, I don’t really care how it looks as long as everything is sanitary. I’m here for breakfast. Is it any good? I’ve had better. My breakfast was an egg scramble with two pancakes and ham. The pancakes were well cooked, but perhaps their mix needs work. I can describe them as being spongy and elastic. I was not a fan of the syrup. That stuff was viscous and didn’t taste very good. At least they provided a good amount of butter. The ham? I had issues cutting through it. Either the knife wasn’t very sharp, or the meat just didn’t want to give. I settled on eating the cuts whole. The eggs were pretty good at least. Overall, it got the job done but I won’t be coming back.

1. The place doesn’t look too clean. 2. The servers lack customer service skills and appear clueless. 3. The eggs are greasy. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Liver and onions with mashed potatoes. I can eat that here. It’s excellent. Nikkos is a place that does some things so good I don’t have to cook it at home as often. I do love all that I’ve had here from the burgers and shakes to the corned beef hash/eggs and potatoes. They even make a nice salad when I’m being good and biscuits and gravy when I’m not so good or ‘pausing’(older women know what I’m saying). Try it you’ll like it if you enjoy traditional diners as I do.

In the middle of a move from Alameda to Oakland we stopped here twice to get a bite because it was late and it was open. The first night was fine. We both had a Hobo burger. It was good, nothing to write home about but not awful. Second time I ordered fried chicken. I put my fork in it and it started squirting like a zombie holocaust attack. I hit a vein with the tine of my fork. Undercooked frozen chick. Ok, it’s a crappo diner and the waitress came by and saw that I had put a napkin under my chicken leg to stop the hemorrhaging from dripping into my potatoes which was now soaked completely like a battle wound. She looked horrified and took my plate. She brought me another one, but this one bled too. I heard her yelling at the cook, and then she brought me some«extra pieces to make up for it» but guess what? Blood ran from them as well. Bless her heart. I left the pieces on the plate and have not been back. I am still surprisingly not a vegetarian.

The food is really comforting;it just hits the spot just right. It’s fills you up with a smile. The the waitress is super nice and friendly. I work pretty late at night and I’m glad this place is open when I’m around the area. I’m a breakfast anytime type of guy and, at least for me, it’s hard to find a good place that can do just that. This is my go to place in the East Bay when heading home.

We stayed at i hotel in alameda and their wasnt too many choices for family places to eat. If u didnt want to spend a ton of money they only had jack in the box and burger king. So in the morning we looked for a place for breakfast wow nothing to be found. Their was a waffle shop with a line down the block so we drove a little ways down the road and we found this place. Reminds me of the places me and my family use to find back when i was a kid on family vacations. food is great here and service is good.

Came here to satisfy me omelette cravings… 24÷7… Clean friendly, place, would recommend this place to anyone. Try out the steak omlette with mushrooms, green onions, and cheese… And bacon cheddar fries… Quality plus quantity! Definitely coming back!

A decent diner with decent help. I don’t think this deserves the same rating as your neighborhood Taco Bell or dennys. It’s a much better Dennys with a small business feel. Don’t hate. Hobo burger was a good burger. Open late as all hell.

I’ve enjoyed this place ever since I laid my eyes on it… When I went to Oakland for a show, I knew I was going to eat here after… This place is a special place that keeps drawing me back to it. Maybe it’s nostalgia, maybe it’s the Retro vibe, maybe it’s the type of unique crowd that visits this place after midnight… You know what, it’s ALL of that! I find it that they should film a movie here so they can capture the Essence/Spirit of this Place! The food is straight forward and decent. It’s simple but hey… It’s open 24hrs and they give you your meal hot and the people that work there are Really Nice! I want to eventually try everything on their menu! I recommend the chicken parmigiana that includes a Soup and Pasta! I also had the pancakes which is Good as well. I say Visit this place at least ONCE!

I’ve been eating here off and on for a few years with a friend who lives nearby. It’s OK. Biggest plus of this place is it’s open 24 hours. I usually get burger & fries. Burger is OK but my advice is to skip the coffee. It is like dishwater. It’s so weak, I think they’re trying to save money by not putting in enough coffee grounds. But last time we were here there was an incident, and this is a classic: There was a fat a$$ male customer sitting at the counter harassing the waitress being demanding and bitchy about everything on his plate. He finally got what he deserved when she«accidentally» spilled hot coffee in his lap. Me and my friend«high-fived» each other. Made my day.
