Instead of the usual 3 nights(if you include Club NSSN), Live 105 only had 2 nights this year. The lineup was a great blend of new up and coming artists, as well as some alternative veterans: X Ambassadors, Halsey, Chvrches, Foals, Bastille, Silversun Pickups, Deathcab for Cutie, and WEEZER. You’re probably thinking, what the heck, how did Live 105 put on 8 bands in one night with all the set changes? Surprise! They brought out a revolving stage this year. Much to my pessimism, it worked to their full advantage as the time between sets was only 10 minutes. My crew and I got there at 3(doors opened at 4:30) and we were second row from the barricade for most of the night. By the end of the night, my friend and I saw Weezer from the barricade. If you’re a up close and personal concert goer or are just short like me, don’t worry about getting there 4 hours before doors, 1 or 2 will suffice. Highly recommend buying GA tickets, don’t be lame and sit down for the entire concert until the headliners. Get out and dance! Live 105 never fails to disappoint, so for all you daily listeners out there, you should definitely make it out to at least one NSSN.

Settle down, randies. This is merely a basic, two-day, commercial radio line-up in a soulless arena in a city where one is exponentially more likely to be murdered dead in an unsolved homicide. «Thug Life to me is dead.» — 2Pac + Not So Silent Night [NSSN] line-ups are relatively top heavy. + Arena staff are utmost professionals in all interactions. + Raider fans are nowhere to be found. «I’m breathing in the chemicals… «- Imagine Dragons — Not So Silent Night-goers are douches. — Parking is as complicated as Manhattan(if not more so). — Raider fans are nowhere to be found(to beat the shit out of the douches). Rating: Three-stars, just«A-OK.» Postscript. Nothing says«Thug Life» like a band of «Radioactive» Mormons(re: NSSN2014, N2). Sex, drugs, and rock and roll.

This was definitely a fun concert to go to! I’ve never heard much about NSSN, so I didn’t have much expectation going into the concert. I honestly didn’t know many bands that performed on Day 2 but I still had a lot of fun. LIVE105 definitely did their best in trying to make the whole night so very awesome! I had a great time seeing the performances and the bands were so good! Bands include: Imagine Dragons(who were super awesome and was who I looked forward most at NSSN), Alt-J, Interpol, Cage the Elephant, Spoon, and Vance Joy. All of them were super great and each band had such great energy and made the crowd go crazy(including myself). I never thought Alternative was really my cup of tea, but I am reconsidering! This might be what I’ll be looking forward to next year! Yay!

My favorite concert of the year! Live 105 works hard to score an awesome lineup for their annual Not So Silent Night concert weekend. So many amazing bands, Live 105NSSN is a two night night affair, three nights if you include the Club NSSN pre-party show. Night one: Kings of Leon, Vampire Weekend, QOTSA, AFI(A Fire Inside), Arctic Monkeys, Capital Cities. Night two: Arcade Fire, Phoenix, Alt-J, Lorde, Bastille, The Neighbourhood. The bands kept to the posted set times, which shows how well things are managed backstage. The best seat in the house would be the VIP platform riser behind the sound guys, but if you can’t score that, GA floor tickets are bomb. In between sets, we sipped Stella Artois, Lagunitas IPA and Diet Coke and munched on three orders of nachos with copious amounts of nacho cheese, salsa and jalapeño slices. Crazy expensive, but well worth it, as beer and salty snacks adds to experience of being at this rawking show. The band I most looked forward to seeing was AFI. Once again, Davey Havoc blew my mind. I love his music and love watching him perform. He climbed up and jumped off of speaker boxes, spun around tons, and danced his butt off for his entire set. His passion for his craft is evident in his face, voice and performance. Triangle is my favorite shape. Three points where two lines meet. Back to back, toe to toe. …Let’s tesilate. Alt-J, what’s tesilate??? Don’t know what you are saying most of the time, but I love your beats. A few lucky Live 105.3 radio station contest winners scored pairs of tickets and meet and greets with the bands, depending on the giveaway. Would be totes amaze to meet the bands! In between QOTSA and Vampire Weekend, we bumped into my favorite ex-action team member, the lovely Grace L and her friend, Keagan. So awesome to see her. She’s great and so cool! Thanks Live 105. 15,000 concert goers had an amazing time!
