Ever since this Quik Stop location received new management, it has easily become one of the better gas stations in this area. Lately, the gas has been at least a few cents cheaper than their competition and their refreshments have remained unmatched in price($.69 Any size coffee/$.5932oz soda). Also, this is one of the few gas stations around that has a large variety of Krispy Kreme donuts on display, that right there is enough to get me to return.

The other evening on our way home from my sister’s house on Fruitvale Avenue, my husband noticed gas was $ 2.59.9 a gallon. We still have a half tank of gas left; okay, it’s a pit stop for us to fill ‘er up before getting into Alameda. This is not the gas station that we normally purchase gas for our car, but seeing that it was reasonable… oh, why not. Value of the gasoline is pretty good, but the in and out access is a drawback at this gas station. The side street is all right for in and out, but try getting in and out on the main thoroughfare(Fruitvale Avenue) can be difficult at times. Traffic congestion and people don’t want to cut you any slack.

This gas station usually has cheap gas and is fairly convenient due to its location close to home. However, the machines that I pump at usually don’t automatically print out a receipt so I have to go into the store to request it, which is kind of a hassle. Recently, they also overcharged a credit card scanned in their gas station. The credit card company had to put a hold on my account until it was cleared up. This is outrageous because I still have my card, so that means their machine kept my information. I used to recommend this gas station to my friends visiting in the area, but no more. Don’t go, I guess. unless you’re paying with cash.

This is my local gas station, but I won’t be patronizing it anymore. Tonight I started pumping gas and then went into my car to entertain my baby while it filled up. I only needed about half a tank(and I have a small one). I noticed it was taking a while and that the total was already at $ 52. Turns out the nozzle didn’t automatically stop when the tank was full so gas was gushing everywhere. The guy working at the counter didn’t seem to understand what I was talking about. He got the owner(manager?) on the phone and the guy would not give me any refund, claiming it wasn’t his responsibility even though the pump malfunctioned. Now I’m out about $ 30 and my shoes and clothes smell like gasoline. No customer service whatsoever.

I wanted to like this gas station because it’s cheap and on the way to the freeway/clinical site. but it sucks because 1)there are only 4 pumps 2) people pull up and park their car at the pumps. and leave them there while theyre not pumping waste of time.

This quik stop may have opened as a 7⁄11 decades ago. it’s between foothill and the macarthur freeway on fruitvale. in my youth, i used to gas up here, buy a few snacks and get some brew. these days, the gas pumps are always occupied. besides, getting back onto fruitvale is very difficult in this ‘hood. people are just in too much a hurry to yield to incoming traffic.
