In explaining why Monrye, and his company R-Y-E’s fencing is a 5 star business I have to use the three P’s: Professionalism, Problem Solving and Pride in his craft. Professionalism– When I found this contractor on Unilocal and gave him a call he set up a time to come and do an estimate. He came out on time and while doing the estimate he kept looking for ways to save me money. We were converting from a manual swinging gate to a motorized sliding one and Monrye(owner) decided to weld our old gate together saving us the money of having to buy a new one. Once hired for the job he was always there working when he said he would and would always call to clear when would be a good time to do so. While working, he would introduce his staff and make sure to work around the schedule and needs of my family. The work space was always neat enough that we could get in and out of our cars and if I told him we needed to leave he would have the area clear for us to back the cars out. Problem Solving– There were a number of issues that made this job a little tricky. Monrye had to adjust for an awkward angle for our sliding gate. To do this he had to build a track since running one on the ground would not work. This took time and he spent the better part of a day figuring out how to make it work before building this track. Doing so not only took skill it took a little creativity. Pride in his craft: Monrye wants to get the job done right. He is the type of business person that stands by his work and isn’t satisfied until everything is done right. Even after the job was done he stopped by to make sure that everything was working well and when he heard the track he built squeaking a little bit he greased it.(This is after he was paid in full.) I think this is a testament to the pride he takes in building something from start to finish. That is the kind of person you want working on your home. If you have fencing needs in or around Oakland you should call them up for an estimate, you won’t be disappointed.

Monrye is very professional and very knowledgeable. He was always quick to respond to calls or emails and his work is very good. The fence and gate he put in is very well made and looks great. I recommend him highly

I had the pleasure of working with Monrye today to reconfigure my driveway gate. His expert consultation and precision in laying out the gate and the welds far exceeded my expectations. Is pricing was also extremely reasonable. I highly recommend R-Y-E’s Fencing to anyone who wants a job done well and done right! Thanks again Monrye!

If I could post a 0 star review I would! This shady contractor is doing work for my neighbor. He took down the fence two weeks ago and there is still no fence up! This job should have taken about 6 – 8 hours. I live in Oakland and having no fence is a serious issue and jeopardizing our safety. This contractor clearly didn’t understand the scope of the project or the legal issues surrounding this fence line. They have a license number on their vehicle which is NOT valid and I have since reported this issue. Clearly not a reputable vendor and should be avoided at all costs.

Monrye and his assistant were top-notch. Plain and simple. My wooden driveway gate got swung around hard from some fierce wind gusts, knocking it off its post, and shredding the wood that the hinges were bolted into. Big problem that I knew would take a professional to look into fixing. Called a few companies and only Monrye was available to come by to take a look within the hour. He diagnosed it, figured out the solution, and came back the following morning with the right supplies to fix the fence swiftly and in the process probably realigned it better than the original installers did. Monrye is a true professional and very personable, and that to me was just as important as the level of work he performed. He walked me through what his plan was to fix it, and even found a way to minimize my cost on supplies to accomplish it. Could not have asked for a better outcome and will call Monrye in a heartbeat if the winds should ever cause more damage again!
