The best Brazilian Wax I’ve gotten in the Bay Area; it was by far the most gentle and thorough. The salon is clean and has a relaxing atmosphere and Kimyatta is professional and friendly — felt comfortable as soon as I walked through the doors. So relieved I found someone who knows what they’re doing. Will definitely be going back.

I’m so glad I bought a Living Social deal for a wax. I’ve been to many different salons. She did a fantastic job (with very little pain). The salon is warm, inviting and relaxing. I enjoyed my conversation with her, she is great at keeping your mind off of things while she works. I’ll be a permanent customer beyond Living Social.

I came here because there was a Living Social deal for brazillians, and will definitely be going back. Kimyatta was professional and efficient, from everything from scheduling the appointment to completing the wax. She uses hard wax, which makes it as painless as a brazillian can be. An added bonus, Kimyatta is incredibly personable and professional. All in all, it was a great experience and I highly recommend it.

Kimyatta is fantastic. She’s super detail oriented, and it was the most painless wax I think I’ve ever had. She takes her time and is thoughtful. She’s also great to talk with; she should have another career as a life coach. The time flew by!

Kimyatta is simply put, AMAZING! I found her thru the Living Social deal she has going and was excited to try. Her salon is so tranquil and relaxing and she made me feel so comfortable and at ease, which is not easy to do knowing you are going in for a waxing waaaaaay overdue!

I just received one of the BEST Brazilian waxes I have ever had. I have been to many other estheticians for waxing, but I must admit that Kimyatta is a diamond in the rough.
Her salon is clean as a whip, orderly, and has a soothing atmosphere. She is friendly, welcoming, professional, easy to talk with, and even has a wonderful sense of (respectful) humor! I usually feel nervous when baring it all to a new bikini waxer, but she was both gentle and direct in her approach, and made me feel right at home. She even picked up on the nuances of my schedule and made sure to time everything perfectly.
Kimyatta is an absolute expert, and her experience shines through her work. My Brazilian was nearly painless and very thorough. I will definitely be going back to Skin Within.

I have had so many facials, this one was exceptional. Kimyatta was extremely attentive when we spoke before the facial began. She wanted to know everything about my experience with my skin. She really asked all the right questions. My answers clearly informed the decisions that she made about products to use and how much time to spend on different aspects of my facial.
After that we went upstairs into the small but extremely comfortable and well decorated room. The music and ambiance were relaxing. She did a phenomenal job cleaning and soothing my skin before the extraction. To me the most important part of a facial is the extraction. She seemed to feel similarly. She proved extremely knowledgable about the details of the problems I’ve been having with my skin. She could give some tips about what was going on in each of my problem areas (she recognized where my helmet strap goes, and how that area of breakout is somehow different from the hormonal breakout elsewhere on my face). She went over her time limit on my extraction, and followed up with a cold something that she carefully put all over my face. This meant that when I left her I was not splotchy at all, I looked like I hadn’t even had a facial. Amazing.
She was also just a great service person. She was relatable, likable, enjoyable and funny when we spoke. Also, when I didn’t want to talk because I wanted to lounge she picked up on that and we were silent.
I am going back soon and often. My only fear is that with so many positive reviews she won’t be able to fit me in!

I’ve only been to Kimyatta once thus far for a bikini wax, but I can say that she is very professional and friendly, and made me feel really comfortable with the process. She has a great energy and is very easy to talk to – she makes you forget that you’re in an otherwise kind of awkward position. Her establishment is very clean and more homey than clinical-​feeling as opposed to other salons. I will be going back!

My experiences at Skin Within (Brazilian wax, facial) have been outstanding, and I will be returning for all my personal care needs. I highly recommend this business, particularly for people who are looking for a personal touch, a knowledgeable esthetician, and non-​chain type salon.
Tl;dr:
Quite frankly, Kimyatta herself is the competitive advantage Skin Within has over the market. She exudes passion for her work, shows genuine care for and interest in her clients, and has an exuberance for life that’s palpable. Kimyatta’s warm personality removes the somewhat clinical vibes of going to a salon, so you feel like you are going there to be pampered, not probed. Her Brazilian wax was incredibly thorough, and my facial actually made a huge difference in my skin within days.
What I loved:
— She rushed a first-​time appointment for me when no other salon in the area would do so (I was leaving in 2 days for a trip to Europe).
— She spent a good 10 minutes taking the client before me through product options and treatments for dry skin around the eyes while ringing her out (I had arrived early and was reading a magazine). She took her through natural and non-​natural options, cheap and expensive ones, and brought up a bunch of literature on the client’s phone that would better help her decide. She never once pushed her product line on the client.
— She stayed late to accommodate me for a follow-​up appointment (decided during the Brazilian wax that I also wanted a facial before Europe).
— She talked about researching common complaints for similar businesses on Unilocal so that she could mitigate them for her clients, such as clearly explaining parking options ahead of time. (I actually loved when she mentioned this — showed so much passion and drive.)
— She didn’t pressure her line of skin products on me at all. When I asked her to show me what she would recommend based on my skin issues/​desires, she talked me through what I should use irrespective of product line and then showed the corresponding products she carried. I chose to buy, and she recommended I only purchase a couple of the items and then loaded me up with samples for the others. She said we could discuss how the basics were working for me at the next visit, and tweak from there.
— She selected various types of music that fit the service. For the Brazilian wax, she had some upbeat island-​y type music (I suck at music genres) that both distracted me and made me think of bikinis and rum-​based drinks (very appropriate), and for the facial, she played some non-​stock standard but still soothing music.
— She’s impressive as hell. She’s got kids, her own business, and is a competitive bikini model with a ton of trophies to prove it.
What I’d change:
— I really wish you could sign up for appointments online. I’m not big into phone calls :)
— That’s it! I’ll definitely be a recurring customer here.

Got my chest and back waxed. Kimyatta did a very good job. Have had problems with breaking out after in the past. Did not have a problem with this at all at skin within. She also had a very fast hand do it didn’t hurt as much as others in the past. Thanks kimyatta!

Kimyata was great! She did my very first Brazilian wax and I was comfortable to my surprise. Her establishment is VERY clean and personable. You would think she is one of your girlfriends and you guys are just hanging it at the club house. I would recommend her.

I recently moved from GA and my first concern was finding a place where i can continue to get my brazilian wax. NOW i know why theres only great reviews! Kimyatta is professional and super friendly! Went for a Brazilian wax because I had bought a living social deal. Was a great experience, very friendly and comforting. She even went and fed my meter because she was running a little bit late and didn’t want me to get a ticket. Thought that was great.

I have not yet reviewed a place on Unilocal yet, but was moved to review my experience at Skin Within after meeting Kimyatta. She is wonderful, professional, knowledgable, considerate and passionate. I am in a related industry, and while it is imperative that I educate my clientele and offer them an adequate service, it takes an extra step to make someone feel special, important and respected. That is what Kimyatta does.
