Bought coffee; later asked to use their restroom that was locked w/a code lock. Took them 10+ min to open the door and wouldn’t give the code. Bathroom was disgusting. Poor service.

Not the most efficiently run Starbucks… haven’t been to this location in about a 6 mos as its not very friendly and slow… i could get here at 7 am and rarely i get a good morning or smile… there used to be some friendly cashiers but not lately… baristas are usually energetic and try to get the lines moving… maybe in time, i’ll try again… for now, its off to Peet’s of Café Gabriela!

Great customer service. However my drink burned the shit outta my tongue serving tea that hot is awful and I’m very upset about it.

My boyfriend needed to use the bathroom when we were here and it requires a code… But I don’t know why the barista wouldn’t just tell us what it was… instead my BF had to wait almost 10 minutes for the barista to unlock it for him and when he did, there was no toilet paper or paper towels, and it was a mess. As the barista was walking to the bathroom I notice he kicked a piece of plastic from behind the counter into the main walkway and didn’t even pick it up! That made me look at the floors and man were they dirty! Skip. Not even worth it.

I suppose it was silly of me to assume the Old Oakland branch of the chain coffee shop would be better than my neighborhood branches. Or maybe I was too bent on escaping all the dance parents surrounding me on the sidewalks(there was a mass exodus of dance moms and dads at the nearby convention center) to give it much thought. Long line was no surprise; embittered employees not too surprising either. But the glacial pace at which everyone moved made it for a torturous experience. I snatched my Shaken Iced Peach Green Tea off the messy counter and speed-walked back to the dance con.

Meh. I ordered my drink on the app and my boyfriend picked it up. I ordered a venti tea latte and they didnt double cup it. Kind of annoying and a rookie mistake. I don’t want to be anal but this is standard for every Starbucks. The tea tabs things kept leaking liquid everywhere and I had to rip it off myself. Small con for any other place, but for Starbucks, it annoyed me enough to write a review lol

This location is very convenient which is mainly why I go there — only a couple blocks from 12th St. BART station.(There is another Starbucks at 12th St. City Center but they are not open on weekends.) I stop there, get my drip coffee and I’m good to go. My biggest gripe are the bathrooms. They are occupied for long periods of time by non-customers, or there’s a sign saying«closed for repairs».

Move out of my way people, this place is way to busy to frequent and I’m trying to get my fix like the other junkies. I’m just kidding, well not really, I want some D*** coffee, but keep getting sucked into a hipster storm or a downtown big wigs belly button on my way to the counter. I may just have to fight my way through, because I love their fresh dripped blonde blends and processed treats. I’ll be back, maybe in my business man disguise, sometimes you have to play the game to win ;)

Surprise surprise they aren’t open on time. Again. At least the service will be slow and rude.

Starbucks might be a chain, but service is one factor what sets one store apart from another. I happen to be passing by and stopped in for a cup of coffee. The store was quite crowded as all the tables were full of patrons and line to order was about six deep with one cashier working registers. Now next in line, another cashier opens up and takes my order for a Grande drip. After ringing me up, I thought she was going to get my coffee, but she was filling a tea order and then taking a pastry item from the oven. Then she poured my coffee for me. I had a drip coffee order, not a handcrafted drink. Never had to wait for a drip coffee order. That’s why I got a drip, so I didn’t have to wait. I’ve experienced better service at the other Starbucks in the area on Clay St in the City Center.

Worst service at a good location. I had to call Starbucks corporate to tell them since I’m a Starbucks rewards member. I came here to get my free rewards drink and the cashier charged me. No big deal so I told her to refund me. She said she couldn’t because she already charged me. Then I got the manager who charged me twice!!! So when I got the receipt I showed him. The cashier said she was new and when the manager asked if I told her about my free drink reward she said I never told her. I hate LIARS. Thankfully the customer in line behind me heard me and backed up my story. So now I have about a $ 10 charge to my Starbucks card because they never took it off.

This Starbucks is just so damn convenient for me, but seriously, it makes me question my decision making. It’s alway busy. Morning, noon or night, there’s a line. You’d think corporate management would pick up on it, but they perpetually seem understaffed. Also, I hate being this person, but I’m going there: if you see a line out the door, ya could pick up the pace. Yes Starbucks employees, I’m talking to you. Maybe some espresso shots would help because you are slow as f*&*ck. Honestly, this is the only Starbucks I’ve been in where the employees look like they hate their jobs and they are just so damn slow. There’s always only one person manning the espresso/speciality drinks station and it’s just such a time suck. If I’m not making coffee at home it’s because I’m in a hurry and this Starbucks is not a quick option. Sadly, it’s so close to my house that I will still keep frequenting it when I’m on the go, but I know what to expect: long lines and slow service.

Well the team at this location created a 2nd entrance/exit and gave the place a fresh and vibrant make over. It’s totally in character with the rest of Old Oakland’s vibe! Great natural light spilling into the place too!

A nice walk to get a much needed coffee. It’s downtown so I’m fine with a line, no big. But seriously, do all the emotes hate their job? The lake of smiles and customer service was unreal. I ordered 6 scones and a bistro box plus two drinks. They didn’t offer a bag or a cup holder and when I requested both they reacted like I asked for the keys to their car. I asked«can I confirm it’s soy?»… And slight eye roll and a gruff yes. I would never go back to this Starbucks based on customer service.

I’m so glad this location opens later than other Starbucks! While all the other coffee places closes at 6pm, they open until 8pm. Two hours does make a huge difference when you need caffeine to study. I’m so happy to have found this location. On top of that, the cashier was friendly and welcoming. She didn’t rush and greeted everyone in line. Glad she was the closing employee. Kudos!

Above average Starbucks. The same as EVERY other, but friendlier employees and faster service… which is apparently very different than other peoples’ experiences, so perhaps I caught them on a good day. BTW: Starbucks supported marriage equality, and my trip to Seattle on the weekend nationwide marriage equality was found to be constitutional by the Supreme Court, Seattle Starbucks flew a huge rainbow flag at their flagship store in Seattle… which inspires a new loyalty in me to go here and not Coffee Bean…

Need my coffee because crack isn’t allowed in the workplace! Morning rush are the worse but besides that the staff here try their best to be friendly. Gotta give them credit for working in downtown Oakland, I’m sure they deal with a lot of BS.

I’ve been in this Starbucks a few times in the past. I decided to stop in and get a grande caramel frappuccino and a Michigan cherry oatmeal bar. Time: 3:20PM Weather 68° warm & sunny Location: on the corner of 8th& Broadway in the Old Oakland District, a block west of Oakland Chinatown. Ambiance: entrance has a slightly elevated incline to front counter. Not as spacious as the Starbucks on Tilden Way in Alameda. Lighting is okay, but sitting by window is a plus with natural outdoor lighting. Service: Hardly anybody was in line ordering beverage and/or food. I imagine it’s probably busier in the morning. Barista was friendly and helpful. I like caramel frappuccino, but unfortunately the one I ordered from this Starbucks was weak, lacking both coffee and caramel flavors(2 stars). It was so underwhelming. I did not want to go back and ask them to prepare another one. Then, I did not want to toss a $ 4.65 drink into the garbage can. I boarded the bus to Alameda to get home. Flavorless frappuccino? Okay, let me «doctor» up the beverage… bust out the bottle of Kahlua… two shots… aahh…much better, except I did not have any Ghiradelli caramel syrup. Beverage did not go to waste. If it weren’t for the friendly barista and the delicious Michigan cherry oatmeal bar, I would have given this Starbucks a 2 star rating.
