This is the best Subway in Downtown Oakland. Kiran is always very nice and friendly and attentive to your order. The restaurant is always clean and quiet. Nice place to sit and relax during your lunch break.

It amazes me that there are still store owners and managers who don’t seem to know that Unilocal or the Internet exist, or that basic information — like the store’s hours and phone number — should be readily apparent, as to not frustrate customers before they ever step into your store. It was a Saturday. The Subway website says this location closes at 5pm on Sat’s. The Unilocal page says 9pm. I called the number listed on the Unilocal page, but I got a weird outgoing message. Since I had to walk the dogs, I decided to go there anyway. When I got there, the door was open, but when I walked in, I was confronted by a cranky older woman who kept pointing at the store hour window decals which listed the weekday closing times, but not the weekends’. Also, she seemed afraid that I — a short Asian woman walking two tiny dogs — was going to rob her or something. People: If you don’t want people to bother you after closing, then post the closing times conspicuously and lock the d*mn door. If the owners and managers can’t even manage these small tasks, I can’t imagine how mismanaged everything else is.

Friendly, fast and quiet. No hobos or unlikeables here. Clean and tasty for subway standards. Customer service is very good, but can be slow during lunch rush. Hidden gem away from the hustle of downtown.

Sandwich was standard Subway sandwich, but they are overcharging people. When I pointed out to the woman working behind the counter that she charged me more than the price on the large sign above her, she kept pointing to the amount automatically charged by the register. Then I asked to speak to the manager or owner of the place(off site) and she initially rejected the idea of using her phone to call him/her(she wanted me to use mine, which I didn’t have on me). Eventually she called him/her and refunded my money(the extra amount), and said they would fix the sign. But I wonder if they will do that and how long they have been overcharging people.

I went here this morning to order a foot long BLT sandwich, and the Middle Eastern/Indian guy(a.k.a jerk) was extremely rude when I was picking my fixings. He had an attitude & kept rolling his eyes when I told him I didn’t want my bread toasted or cheese. I asked for oil & vinegar, salt & pepper, and got nothing but drops if anything. When I ate my sandwich, I felt like I paid $ 5 for«bread»(I tasted more bread than anything else). If it wasn’t for my hunger, I would have walked out and not paid. I will never come here to eat EVER again. It’s disgusting & poor customer service. Definitely this Subway doesn’t follow their motto to «Eat Fresh». Where’s the negative rating, cause obviously«1 Star» is too much for this dump.
