Sullivan Counter Tops

Fantastic service, competitive price, perfect installation. I got quotes from several countertop businesses for Caesarstone counters and all were within the same range. My contractor wanted to work with Sullivan because he had good experiences with them in the past, so I placed the order with Sullivan. They allowed me to reschedule my appointment so many times I’m embarrassed, always with a can-​do attitude. Finally we were ready for measurements. Sullivan got the template made and 10 days later, the counters were ready. The installation was really where they showed their skills. We put countertops on the existing cabinets, and the cabinets and walls were all slightly wonky, not quite plumb and square after 60 years. They managed to get that countertop on perfectly, and the seam is virtually invisible. I have to try hard to find it, and I know exactly where it is!

Sullivan cut and installed marble slabs in my kitchen and master bath. Their work was spectacular! They cut the slabs so that the heavy veining ran the same direction, which made the kitchen look fantastic. They also managed to squeeze all of the counters out of just two slabs (I bought the slabs elsewhere). A terrific experience.

Really wanted to support this local business. Went to their shop and got a quote. The salesperson was nice and gave me samples and 3 different printed quotes for the corian. Had a few follow up questions that I emailed and left voicemails about, but the salesperson totally ghosted me– not one response for 3 weeks. I took my business elsewhere, of course.

We have been helping our relative out for a house remodel. The architect (based in Berkeley) recommended Sullivan Counter Tops because they are local to the East Bay. Well, we are actually over in the peninsula and from the very first call to the install, it has been nothing but precise and professional help from the entire team (Adriana, Erica, Tammy, Mark). I feel bad to say that we have not interacted directly in person with any of the team members until Mike came out to do the measuring!
This team is efficient and prompt at getting out the initial information, quote, measuring, etc. All of our questions were answered and we had no concerns about their work. Mike stayed very late to measure and draw up plans for where the countertops needed to be. We went through all the bathrooms and kitchen areas and he made recommendations based on some of the constraints with the vanities. The sinks went back with him so they could precisely cut the holes for the undermount sinks. When install day came, they came out to do the install and it looks AWESOME! There are no seams and the undermount sinks are TIGHT to the countertop. They were nicely caulked as well. We had visited another relative’s house where they had quartz countertops installed but the contractor was so sloppy, there was a ¼″ gap between the countertop and the sinks. The caulk was smeared all over the inside of the sink. NONE of that occurred at this install! They knew what they were doing and did it well!!! Can’t be any happier, and definitely will use them again to redo our own countertops.
Not only were we able to stay with a local small business/​fabricator, we also used American made Cambrian countertops :).

Sullivan beat everyone. I was concerned quality would be impacted, but its not the case, they have great prices and EXCELLENT quality.

I had an AMAZING experience working with the staff at Sullivan Counter Tops. I had originally ordered the same product from Home Depot (Silestone Lyra). However after walking into the show room at Sullivan’s and getting a better understanding of their installation techniques and attention to detail there was no way I was having any one else install for me. Their price in fact was within $ 100 of Home Depot which made it a no-​brainer. I would highly recommend Sullivan, the finished product is wonderful.

All the 5 star reviews say it all. We waited 10 yrs. for our new kitchen. We already had a cabinet maker and needed the right countertop fabricator to finish the look. I looked at shops all over the bay area and was impressed with Sullivan’s. I also wanted to stay local so was happy that Sullivan’s is in Oakland.
The staff is friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Even for a standard product (Caesarstone), prices vary a bit. Sullivan’s is somewhere in the middle.
I’ve remodeled many kitchens and this is the best experience with the countertop fabricator. They know their business and it shows. If you are an OCD type like me and need to look at 10 shops, go for it. You will come to the same conclusion I did.
They are very busy so plan ahead.

I recently went in to get an overview of possible choices. The customer service was great! The woman knew all about the pricing, durability, and weight of all the counters. They were also quite generous with samples. Several years ago we had a counter put in by them. It actually had quite a bit of detail and it was perfect when it was done. This business has been around awhile and knows their stuff.

We worked with Sullivan through our contractor during our renovation and have been very happy with our countertops. They installed Caesarstone countertops throughout our kitchen, pantry and one bathroom and a Calcutta marble vanity top in another bathroom. I found them to be highly professional and responsive throughout the process. The quality of their work is excellent. Highly recommend!

The easiest piece of our kitchen remodel was due to Sullivan. We went there after hearing many recommendations and are glad we did. Great selection, very helpful service and, most important, the installation was impeccable. Our quartz counter tops are beautiful and perfect in every way.

At the recommendation of our favorite contractor, we used Sullivan to replace our aging ceramic tiles. We chose a Cambria quartz and installation took place today. Our experience with Sullivan was 100% positive. We had occasion to talk with maybe half a dozen people there: uniformly helpful and friendly. I never felt any pressure to purchase anything. Once we selected and ordered our desired pattern, they ordered it immediately and called us in to confirm that it was really what we wanted (when we could see the whole slab as opposed to the smaller samples).
Set-​up and installation took place smoothly and as scheduled. There were no surprises and no glitches.
I’m very pleased with this business, every step of the way.

Working with Sullivan was a pleasure from the day I walked into their showroom a couple months ago, to yesterday when they installed the Caesarstone, My contractor was their primary contact so I didn’t experience working with them on a direct «roll up your sleeve» basis, but the Caesarstone is gorgeous and I am satisfied with the end result. My contractor said my install was challenging given the size of the sinks and the depth of the vanities I had chosen, but between him and the Sullivan folks, they figured it out.
As of today, I am happy with Sullivan and would recommend them. Angel (in the showroom) was friendly, helpful, and patient; the two guys who installed the product (sorry I don’t remember your names!) were friendly and capable. Having read another review, however, I will keep an eye out for cracks and hope I do not encounter the same level of frustration with customer service.

This is a wonderful company if you are looking for any kind of countertop.
We have done several projects with them over the years and they have always been very professional. The work was always done on time and within or close enough to our budget. They have a great showroom and everyone is friendly.
Recently, we hired them to come back to sand and re-​finish our Corian countertop that they installed in1993! It looks brand new! Thanks guys!

We are a construction consulting firm and through the years have seen many Corian installations in our business dealings. We can honestly say the workmanship from Sullivan Countertops is far and above the competition. They did a complete tub surround at our home last year and we were so impressed by their expertise that when we got ready to do a shower surround this year they were the only company we considered. Both of the installations mentioned included the ceiling directly above and they look flawless. Our walls are not completely plumb or square but the finish product makes it look like as if they are.
Along with having a finish product that we are proud to have in our home, we commend the owner, Tom, and all of his staff for their professionalism. We had a very positive experience on both jobs. Everyone involved is dependable, pleasant & knowledgeable, and we couldn’t be happier with their work. Obviously, we highly recommend Sullivan Countertops if you are at all picky about the finish product.

I first visited Sullivan Countertops in April when I needed, you guessed it, new counters. I guess due to the different types of businesses/​vendors/​installers, you can get WAY different pricing from different places. I discovered that (after eliminating the eco options due to expense) my favorite material was Caesarstone, but Sullivan’s Caesarstone quote was out of the ballpark compared to others – but it had the lowest Corian bid.
Each and every person at this small, friendly operation was endlessly patient with all my questions, as well as knowledgeable and professional.
Once, I popped in right at closing, or maybe just after, and the person didn’t even say anything – just patiently answered questions. When I asked what time they closed is when he politely told me they were already closed.
Then MONTHS went by, and I popped in to ask about a bath vanity. I noticed at this point Sullivan had expanded its product line (Paperstone, Icestone, more) and added a shower/​bath enclosure display. I’d not previously thought of Corian, etc. for this purpose, and it’s GORGEOUS.
Anyway they remembered me by name and treated me as if I were an old friend, even though I’d gotten by Caesarstone elsewhere (and was very unhappy with their work!). I got a bid for a bath vanity top and bath surround in Corian. I got a second bid elsewhere just to make sure the price wasn’t totally insane, and it was comparable.
I’m going ahead with Sullivan happily. How could you NOT want to do business with these people?

Fantastic service. We cancelled an order with another contractor that had been dragging on for 7 weeks with no action. Got a recommendation for Sullivan Countertops from a friend, and had nothing but great and prompt service (3 weeks from our first phone call to installed counters). Sullivan were quite a bit cheaper than our original contractor, they kept all appointments, and were really helpful on the phone. And, above all, the installation was professional and the result looks great. Highly recommended!

Let me tell you a little story… About the American dream of home ownership.
I bought a foreclosure…
That I unknowingly knew was infested with cockroaches…
That had worked their way under the counter tops…
Make a sandwich on that s — ? Damn! I DON’T THINK SO! The 3^rd day in the house I ripped everything out of the kitchen and moved to an apartment.
Fast forward 2 months…
Sullivan’s was very helpful when I went in to select my counter tops. They definitely weren’t the cheapest I found, but the sales staff was very friendly. I figure that you pay a little more you get a little better service. Counter tops are always a pain in the ass to decide on because there are so many different options. Sullivan’s took the time to show and explain to me the benefits and draw backs of each type of material and also helped me with color coordination. I eventually chose Corian and everything was ordered, measured and installed within 1 week.
Fast forward 1 year…
No more cockroaches, no more nastiness. What kind of Sandwich would I like? Grilled cheese please!
