Me and my family came here for dinner and were pleasantly surprised at the service as a whole. We’ve had some bad experiences with some of the Mexican restaurants out here and didn’t know what to expect. The service was quick, darn near no waiting, and the food was seriously delicious! I ate a wet burrito(which was pretty large), and was stuffed! For 3 burritos and 1 super nachos, it was only $ 34. Two thumbs up!

If you like your Mex, Tex style, this is the place. It’s reasonable, ample and delicious. It is the place to eat well in the Dimond. Its has this cafeteria feel and the ladies are not shy with the portions. Quick and made the way you want it. The place is such a neighborhood favorite that line goes out the door. If you go for the Super, make it to go and feast away.

They have the nicest staff and the best super ground beef burrito. If you’re looking for a huge burrito this might not be the place, but the flavors are so good it’s worth it. You don’t need a large quantity of food when the quality is excellent. Plus the staff is awesome! They worked with me when i forgot my card and made me a whole new burrito when i came back 30+ min later. I expected(like most restaurants would) to be dismissed or get the side-eye but I only received smiles and a fresh burrito.(The guy that works knows what good customer service is. Make sure to tip him)

Best Mexican food in town, I want to try the whole menu. All genuine food, juicy meat wonderful portions. Line always out the door, so you know it’s good. Usually dip in after the gym and get my fix, my favorite is the beef and chicken wet burrito, perfection. Everyone is always smiling, the cooks are 5 star and the vibe has a pulse.

This spot earned 5⁄5 stars. They do not let me down with the quality of their food and their customer service. Their prices are out there! I mean like $ 8.50 for a HUGE tasty wet burrito when there are trucks nearby who are selling plain, no flavor burritos for about the same price. Can’t beat it. The only thing negative I can say is trying to find parking, but it’s worth it. Would recommend this place to everyone I know!

Y’know…not so great. I stopped in here for a Quick carnitas burrito, and I was disappointed. The carnitas – the most important part – was Sort of stale tasting. The salsa was surprisingly tasteless. There’s better options nearby, I’m glad to say.

Bomb Mexican food. My favorite is the burrito of chile colorado. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on food. This place has really good food for the price. I go here at least once a week for dinner, I definitely recommend if you want some easy low key Mexican food and your on the go.

Date: 10÷3÷2015 Time: 2:00PM70° Sunny and breezy After roaming around the Oaktoberfest in the Dimond, it was searching for a place(brick & mortar) for late lunch. My sister and I decided on Taqueria Los Comales, since neither one of us wanted Chinese food. We were going to Koi Palace for dinner in the early evening. There was a line forming out the door when we arrived at Taqueria Los Comales. Luckily, we found a table for four right next to the front door. Just as it was crowded outside, likewise for the taqueria. I have never eaten here. My sister has and she says the food is better than the other Mexican restaurants nearby. She got in line to order food, while I sat at the table. I look around and see there are no other seats available. Yep, I say it again… luck was on our side. Upon perusing the menu, I notice they have a decent selection of food items and their prices are reasonable. I could not see the preparation of the tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas and/or how fresh were the ingredients. The only thing I could go on was relying on my sister’s opinion. Eats: super burrito filled with grilled chicken, rice, whole pinto beans, pico de gallo salsa, cheese, sour cream and guacamole for me. Regular burrito for my sister. Beverage: one medium size agua fresca(jamaica). My burrito was tasty, seasoned to my liking. The ingredients were fresh. However, they sure were skimpy on the guacamole. I didn’t see but one little spoon of it at one end of the burrito.(3.5 stars) My jamaica was okay. I had better elsewhere. The 3.5 star rating is rounded to 4 stars(and I’m being generous about it). Return trip: Yes, to have their huevos con nopales — a breakfast dish that I haven’t had for quite a while.

I went here because all the reviews for this place made is seem soooo fantastic. I was totally scammed. The only positive thing I could say about their food is that their portions are enormous. The flavors are so bland, the workers are rude, and my nachos became a pile of soggy sludge on the five minute drive home. I would rather waste my money elsewhere.

Los Comales makes one of the best burritos being served in Oakland. It seems like the prices for burritos are sky rocketing in Oakland with a lot of places charging $ 10 plus. But here they remain at the reasonable price of $ 7 and $ 8 for the wet burritos. The ingredients are blended well and even though I have four stars, it’s very close to getting a 5 based on the burritos alone, but I also order the enchilada plate which was lackluster.

Favorite Taqueria in Oakland. I SAIDIT. Ingredients are super fresh. ALL the meats are delicious(my personal favorites are the Chile Colorado and grilled Pollo). I love to get the super nachos and add grilled veggies. I can usually get a couple meals out of it or make chilaquiles with the leftovers the next morning. WHAT. Super burrito is YES. But beware of burrito baby because it is hard to put this one down. All of the salsas. Horchata. Great staff.

I had the chicken mole plate and it reminded me of my abuelita’s cooking. The sauce was super tasty, and so were the rice and beans. I’m going to bring my family the next time they visit. I complimented someone that works there and he seemed really shocked. I said this was the best Mexican food in Oakland and he was like, «really? Have you been to other places?» Hmmmm. Anyway, give this place a try!!! I’ll be back!

This place gets super crowded super fast. BUT, they move hella hella fast, you honestly don’t even mind the line because they move so quickly. I wish they gave free chips though. The tacos and burrito is pretty good and their sauces compliment their food very well.

Come here during the rush. That’s when everything is being cranked out fresh. Most burritos are too big for me, so I LOVE that they have«kid sizes.» I get that w cheese and a side order of guac and it’s the same $ as a super burrito. I don’t know if they have a specialty, but the carnitas were good, not great. I’ll be going back to try other meats, and will update review accordingly.

Meh. Not the most memorable Mexican food I’ve ever had, BUT it’s literally right down the street from my house and we eat here at least once every two weeks. The line here is mostly always out the door, people love this spot. Prices are reasonable, they have a great range of options on the menu. They move customers(who can make up their mind) swiftly through the line and the designated cashier guy is helpful. Salsa bar available — it’s not rationed out like some Mexican restaurants. Beware and READ because some of that stuff is super spicy! They offer different tortillas(spinach, regular) and different beans(refried, pinto, black). My mother has tried the bowls here and said that they rivaled Chipotle’s burrito bowls. Debit cards can be used here. Parking is SCARCE, it’s street parking AND there’s a bar right next door — so be warned, you may have to walk a bit to and from your car. I’d recommend the wet burrito — it’s huge and sooo good. The sauce is not too thick, it’s very tasty.

I’ve been a customer for over 12yrs and the food is still great! All the ingredients are always fresh, the service is superb, and it’s always clean. My favorites are the nachos and the burritos! I recently used them to cater a luncheon and again the food was great and Gerry worked with my budget… even throwing in a few items! Thanks to them I got huge Kudos for a great lunch!

Friendly folks working in this classic taqueria — I was so pleased to stumble upon this place with a friend. Got the carnitas plate for $ 7 — meat, beans, rice, and chips. There’s a free salsa bar with a good mix, and their Horchata(large, $ 2) is fantastic! An excellent go-to for fast, affordable, delicious Mexican food in the area. Grub on.
