Beware — if you’re expecting a professional web developer to design your website and provide you with excellent customer service, you won’t find it here. I had the exact same experience as some of the others posted here. I’m an Oakland business owner and it was a no-brainer for me to go to the local Oakland, woman-owned, web design business to develop my website. The project manager I was assigned was disorganized and a poor communicator, and ultimately gave me a poorly-designed website for my needs. She built me a website with an over-wrought design with major components that ended up becoming obsolete and non-working within months of paying Techliminal $ 2,500+. When I contacted the head of Techliminal to express my disappointment and identify a path forward to fix the website, she listened but offered nothing in the way of customer satisfaction. I would have to spend more $ to make the fix. Okay, I thought, not ideal, but at this point I’m desperate, I need a working website so I’ll pay it. But amazingly somehow the customer service gets worse– She did nothing to follow up with me to help make the fix, and my last email inquiring about our next steps was unanswered. I am left with the only conclusion that client satisfaction isn’t a concern for Techliminal. This isn’t a business that you can trust.

Geeky, quiet, awesome location, community events, Anc Mosoia, affordable. Someone told me to go to The Hub but at $ 425 a month for all day, full week access that’s just ONCRACK. Tech Liminal is half the price, a nice quiet space, awesome kitchen, couch, and friendly geeky folks like me! If you’re looking for high pressure, high tech, then look elsewhere. If you’re looking for great co-working space, quiet, a nice view of the street(they can’t see in), and a laid back atmosphere look HERE!

Tech Liminal is a nurturing community. Anca founded and runs this amazing hub. Her brilliance has given so many of us the ability to accomplish our projects, and spurs us to think bigger. Word Press support is big here, but there is also much more going on – programs encouraging kids to code, video workshops, online marketing strategies, a comfortable co-working space, and more. For all of us non geeks who nevertheless need to embrace deep programming, it is a bountiful source and solace. And Tech Liminal is not«only» Anca. Those who have been drawn to this hub find an invigorating and welcoming center for problem solving and idea gestation. The only attitude here is one of giving and growing.

I’m a journalist who realized that if I wanted to write I had to become a publisher, too. So I set up a Word Press blog and for months I struggled to find a way to operate it. Until I found Tech Limnal! There are no classes available on WordPress. You have to just figure it out. And Morgan and Pieter and Anca are amazing resources to do make that possible. I’m a writer and graphics professional who became frustrated in dealing a person at this org, She had promised in an email she’d get back to me with more info but nothing came of it. If the folks in this org can’t deliver or aren’t interested in communicating further they should let us know instead of wasting our time. I’m very disappointed as I edified this org to a number of people(before I had this negative experience). As a result, my colleague(a former Silicon Valley exec who am I partnering with) is turning to leads outside the Bay Area. As one who lives and works in the East Bay, I do my best to support local businesses. However, I won’t be referring anyone to this organization anymore.

Tech Liminal is a place for learning, community and expertise. If you want to learn more about technology, there are lots of classes, and if you need more specific learning or assistance, there are consultants with the expertise you need(you may have to make an appointment ahead of time). Tech Liminal is at a new space in the Ask building and it’s bright and airy, which is a nice change from the typical windowless coworking/meeting space. Two small meeting rooms are good for hands-on training, and the large and sunny central room is a good venue for big MeetUps, meetings or parties. Nice group of people and a full-service facility. Also, they are next to the Specialties coffee shop, which is terrific.

Love these people! Couldn’t be more helpful and resourceful. Solved all my computer issues either on the spot or gave me the resources to follow up with. Comfortable, friendly environment with ample street parking.

I met with Anca today to start revising my website. She is very resourceful and had creative approaches that are going to help my SEO. Tech Liminal is setup so you can learn Wordpress and get coaching as you spiff up your website. I’m looking forward to working with their team more. I have used her for the Grand Avenue Business Association website, and she did a great job there.

A very cool place. Tech Liminal is a storefront stop with workspace stations and computer access. I was there for one of their many social marketing and business networking events. the vibe is very urban and hip with that touch of functional funky that makes this a great place to attend events.

I went to TechLiminal for a workshop on marketing my novel. The setting is pretty decent for smaller group gatherings. The setting is fairly artsy-meets-business professional and there’s ample space up front for people to leave business cards and such. I’m not sure if that’s a free service or not. My understanding of TechLiminal’s mission is to help local art-types an entrepreneurs get their businesses going by providing a space for networking and access to some technology. As a meeting space, it’s not bad. They had chairs, an upstairs room and space downstairs, and the setting was pretty neutral and friendly.
