Tetrachromat Studio

This salon is tucked away from the more busy street. It is very cozy and cute! I came here to see Jeska, but both stylists were very friendly. They take time asking about what you want, and offer their recommendations. Both stylists like to talk colour. It’s fun watching them get excited about their work and each other’s. Whether you want something simple or a more bold color, this is the place. I went in for a cut, and kind of unsure whether or not I wanted to color my hair. Jeska walked me through the whole process beforehand. She convinced me after telling me she could do something low maintenance, that wouldn’t expose my roots as it grew out, would grow out nicely, and look completely natural. She said the more I washed it the more I would see it, but promised me it would never look brassy. I didn’t have to sit under any heating lamps/​dryers, which was a huge PLUS. It was hard to see at first (my appt was later in the day, so I didn’t leave until the sun was down)…but in the daylight I was able to see it… she was able to match these two or three random highlights my hair gets from the sun PERFECTLY. It brings out my layers, and looks like I just spent a whole summer under the sun. I have dark thick hair that is hard enough to get a good cut, let alone a good color. I left with both! She can thin your hair with shears or a razor… and they are fair with their prices. I’m hooked, and would trust her if/​when I want to give a more bold color a try.

I’ve been trusting Nicole with my haircuts and color since 2010. I’ve had long hair, beautiful blonde hair, pink and purple hair, short hair, mahogany hair. I may be particularly adventurous but whether the cuts and color are edgy or classy, Nicole’s execution has always been top notch.
She takes her time and works with your comfort level to achieve the best results. She keeps in mind the texture and condition of your hair when discussing options. I’ve referred at least 6 friends to her, most have become repeat customers for years. You won’t be disappointed.

Nicole of Tetrachromat Studio is more than a hair stylist, she is an artist. She is the kind of professional you can give a rough idea of what you want, with broad descriptions and she will hit it spot on. You can say «I want a something new and sassy» and then trust her to make that happen.
The studio itself is a quiet little oasis away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Set off Piedmont avenue it’s in the perfect place for you to get your hair done, eat lunch and a little shopping.
