Sara just made the Paleo cupcakes, thumbprint cookies, and almond butter blondies for our wedding. She is talented baker, and you can tell she genuinely cares-she specializes in allergy-friendly baking b/c she wants everyone to be able to enjoy the sweets. Our wedding was the first one I’ve ever been to where I could eat all the desserts. Plus, we had multiple people eating 3 cupcakes, 10 cookies, etc-people who had never tried Paleo baked goods before. Finally, I’ll say Sara is so affordable. The first Paleo baker we spoke with charged $ 150 to taste 4 cupcake flavors. Sara wouldn’t take any money for the tasting. We highly recommend her.

Oh W.O.W. this pear tart that was brought to us by a friend to celebrate my wife’s birthday was out of this world. I couldn’t believe something with no refined sugar and gluten free could taste this good. Seriously. We were pretty blown away. As I type this, I am eating a piece with my Saturday morning coffee and its still as good a couple days later. The crust is to DIE for, the ingredients: Wanuts, Oat flour, cashews, and chia seeds. It sounds super hippie, but I am telling you it is AMAZING. Crumbly and delicious. I make sure to get every crumb off the plate. I can’t wait to try more of their stuff!!!

Wow! Triple Heart Bakery’s treats are out of this world, whether or not you’re gluten-free! I had my first THB experience a couple months ago when my girlfriend brought home some seeded bread and rosemary chocolate chip cookies from the South Berkeley farmers market. They barely made it through the door before I started gobbling. When she stopped me halfway through my second cookie to tell me that it was gluten-free and vegan, I couldn’t believe my ears. Of all the gluten-free baked good I’ve had, there is no question these were the best. This was the only time I’ve eaten something gluten-free and DIDN’T say, «This is good for gluten-free.» Instead, it’s just plain delicious!

Ok. I am converted… Saved… Ok, just plain happy. These are some of the best baked goods ever. Let’s start with the chocolate birthday cake I ordered for my son’s 4th bday. It was the richest, moistest most fantastic cake ever… And the most picky critics(4 yo) gobbled it up and asked for more. Now we can move to the seeded bread. First time I have had a GF bread I would keep eating. Yummy. Then we get to the chocolate chip cookies(both with and without Rosemary). These are the BEST cookies I have ever had– gluten or no gluten, dairy or no dairy.

I recently had the pleasure of sharing a couple of Triple Heart Bakery mixed berry pies with my Valentine. They were beautifully prepared and presented in a pastry box, and the pies had pie-crust hearts on top of the berry filling. Due to an allergy, I have not eaten wheat products for about 6 years now. I do my best to make up for that by seeking out the best wheat or gluten free baked goods I can find, experimenting liberally. So, I consider myself to have an educated palate when it comes to wf/gf treats. Triple Heart has earned a top-shelf rating in my book! There were two revelatory experiences that emerged from having those berry pies. First of all, until I tried these, I didn’t think I was a fan of berry pies at all, because I usually expect for there to be seeds that are going to be stuck in my teeth for the rest of the day. Triple Heart’s enlightened preparation seems to have included carefully straining out the seeds. And second, I usually expect gluten free pies to have too much crust. Gluten free crust normally does not need to be applied liberally. It is usually just a diet-friendly container for some amazing filing. It’s usually the fart in the elevator. We all know it’s there, but it doesn’t need to be talked about. HOWEVER… Triple Heart’s thin crust was at once perfectly balanced to the filling, AND delicious on its own. I was amazed at the texture and lightness. It perfectly complimented the flavor of the berry filling. So, consider me a convert to gluten free berry pies. Triple Heart Bakery gluten free berry pies, that is.

Absolutely, hands down the best baked goods ever! The chocolate chip cookies with rosemary! What??? Just DELICIOUS! Crunchy, sweet, chocolaty, slightly salty… and then wham! What is that hidden taste you just can’t explain? Rosemary! Wow! Every luscious baked treat I’ve had the pleasure of tasting has been fabulous. Then, when I found out they were also gluten free, I couldn’t believe it. As a teacher, I am always looking for places to recommend to parents that they can get healthy and yummy snacks to bring into a classroom of kids who might have different health and allergy needs, and this is the place. Triple Heart Bakery comes through every time!

Lucero cupcakes — awesome! Moist chocolate cupcakes with a fantastic chocolate frosting with a light touch of smoked sea salt.

I’ve loved everything from this bakery that I’ve gotten from the farmer’s market. The vendor at the market is personable, and the ingredients healthy, the prices fair, and there is ever-changing variety. I trust it’s all made with love and the best choices for the Earth. What a treat that we have this available to us. My eyes literally widen and I start exclaiming out loud when I bite into the cupcakes, and I can’t remember the last time I did that except for these deserts.

OMG. OMG. OMG. It’s all I can say. Seriously. I am still speechless. I am trying to find the words. Ok ok, i am containing myself. So I have been gluten free for almost 8 years. Well truth be told — I have been gluten free-ish for most of those, having periods of time where sure I cheated at a pot luck or twice a year for some kind of delicious pizza. Nonethless 90% of time gluten free all the way. Triple Heart Bakery is like a dream come true for me.(Hmmmm…or maybe a nightmare if I am trying to not gain 1000lbs from eating it so much. Alas I digress.). So I can’t remember what the first thing I ate from Triple Heart Bakery was– but needless to say I have tried A LOT of their goodies, I mean A LOT. I am lucky enough to know the owner quite well– and lucky enough to have purchased some of these amazing goodies from her– but also happen to have been in just the right place at the right time to somehow end up with«tasters.» holy jesus. Ok so lets start with the quinoa chocolate chip cookies. these are my favorite, my absolute favorite(well until you get to the pie section). her breads are to die for. good gluten free breads are hard to come by, and her rye is my absolute favorite. i don’t eat much bread overall– but when i have a hankering this is the one i want. i had it for thanksgiving this year and it was a major hit with the appetizers. and then there is pie. that’s right— pie. pumpkin, mixed berry– all wonderful. but the motherload– my most favorite thing I have had pretty much anywhere is the chocolate pecan pie. omg. stop it. no seriously i have eaten it for breakfast. twice. well and as i say this– what’s the big deal anyway with eating chocolate pecan pie for breakfast? it was real chocolate, pecans, all unrefined sugars, no dairy, pure wholesomeness. no crap. maybe i should be eating it for dinner too? hmmmm… good idea. will consider more later. anyway– lets just say this is one of my favorite places. i have ordered directly from the owner and received my order for cake at my birthday and cookies(gifts, i swear) at the holidays. and now that she is going to be at the berkeley farmers market that makes it even easier. plus i love supporting small local businesses with hard working ladies.
