As I was on my way to Home Depot (4.5 miles farther), I came across this gem! THANK GOD! Gas is EXPENSIVE!!! I pulled into Pompei Nursery and I was immediately greeted by the knowledgable owners. Phyllis helped me find exactly what I needed AND within my budget. THANK YOU, Pompei!

Today was the first time I had gone to this nursery. I’ve seen it there for a few years, and today in search of plants I went in. I was horribly disappointed by the quality of the plants and the condition they were in. There were over grown in pots, and over priced. In the front were small plants that were in terrible condition, and dry in the heat. Although, the employees were friendly and attentive, it didn’t make up for the disappointment I had in this nursery. There is a lot of competition from the big box stores and small private nurseries have got to be up on their game. With high quality plants, that are well cared for, knowledgable staff. I want to support privately owned nurseries, but when they are in this type of condition, its hard too.

I just moved to Oakley and was looking for a nearby place to help me find out about the soil and for planting needs. The owner gave me good tips and was very friendly. The pricing was reasonable and he even helped me load my car. I will come back here for all my planting needs.

Super nice family owned business. Very nice people. I didn’t give 5 stars though because they have a very weak/​limited pottery section. Please get more pottery, I will bump up to 5 stars then. Thank you.

I went in to ask for a favor. I needed some plants identified to make sure my property contained safe plants for children to play around in case of accidental ingestion. The folks at Pompei Nursery were GREAT!!! They identified correctly all but one of the plants (for which they offered a few suggestion that I could research). They really went all out to help me and take the necessary time needed to make sure they were accurate even though I was not a current or past customer. I will DEFINITELY go to them when I am in the market for planting needs when the kids and I are learning about biology & plants.

They had some flowers and a tree I was interested in, but I couldn’t bring myself to go back due to really rude service while originally window shopping.

This place is 2 years old, but we serendipitously found it while cruising through Oakley. Immediately as we came in, we were greeted by Phyllis Pompei, one of the owners of this family business. We were invited to some fresh coffee and pastries, or even some fruit pops from their freezer. It was a nicer reception than most restaurants extend!
We had no plans to buy anything when we found it, but ended up purchasing a fountain at a great price from their special order catalog. The staff was VERY attentive and knowledgeable, and the plant selection was great. The plants all looked healthy and well cared for, unlike the garden center at the local ‘big box’ depot. We are for sure coming here for our garden needs again.
Shop local. It’s worth it.
