Love this store! So many beads, it’s my kind of grown up candy store. The staff is helpful as well. I go about twice a year, well worth the long drive for me! Tons of beads and jewelry making supplies at nice prices.

I am smitten with this place. My future in-laws live in Elyria, so we made the drive in to Oberlin for pizza and shopping. I wasn’t expecting much from a bead store, but WOW. This place is so cool! I don’t really make jewelry, but my mom does, and I was so overwhelmed with the variety that I didn’t even know what to buy her. They have every kind of semi-precious bead stone and pendant that you could think of. Lots of larger pendants and religious and ethnic talismans as well. BUT, what I was really excited about is all of the clothing, scarves, rugs, and tapestries that they carry! They also have a big wall of natural body care products. This is kind of like a nicer, more grown-up version of the head shops you find in small hippie towns. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and we happened to stop in on a sale day. I got a handmade rug and a cute scarf for half off! Is there something for everyone here? No, not really. But, if you like accessories and unique gift items for the ladies in your life, this is the place to go!

This store is a favorite because of the great clothing lines it brings in. I travel extensively and strangers will come up and ask where I bought my coat, sweater, skirt, etc and I reply«Bead Paradise» with a smile!

Interesting stuff here. Beads are just the tip of the iceberg. They have a good selection of natural beauty products, for one.

Bead Paradise is one of my favorite stores in NorthEast Ohio… period. Nestled in downtown Oberlin, Bead Paradise is the perfect place for people who enjoy jewelry making. They also have some pretty sweet and unique clothes and accessories for woman. The clothes can be a bit pricey, but they have a clearance section in the attic! If you are looking for a great place to buy beading supplies then check them out! The owner and her employees are very sweet and helpful. Their prices range from very inexpensive to obnoxiously high. That being said, the higher priced items are typically for vintage and antique, one of a kind items. The Bead Paradise offers classes on making jewelry. Check out their website or give them a call to find out which classes are being offered and when. If you want a quick lesson on how to put together a necklace or bracelet just ask one of the employees they will be willing to show you! Looking for a great winter activity? Why not try out jewelry-making and give Bead Paradise a try!

What a great find! We shopped there when visiting my brother and his wife. They carry BEAUTIFUL scarves. They’re thinner, and airy(loosely woven), so they really keep you warm because of trapping the warm air closer to your neck. Also have a GORGEOUS collection of colored glass mini vases upstairs. My sister-in-law and I just love this store. We don’t even shop their beads!

I just love this store. A fabulous selection of beads from all over the world. I could spend hours looking at the variety, and I do not make jewelry! But I don’t visit there just for the beads! There is a wonderful selection of beautiful clothing(pretty pricey, sure) and if you go upstairs, you’ll find the sale clothing. My only complaint is that there are not enough clothes in plus sizes. This is the place to go to get that unique dress or jacket that sets you apart from the crowd. But I don’t visit there just for the clothes. There is a funky and fun selection of jewelry too, AND great face and body products, AND wonderful scarves and accessories AND there are even gloves and rugs and many other fun items there. This is a store not to be missed. For those of us who grew up in the 1960’s it is the logical extension of those wonderful«head shops» we used to frequent in college. It even smells like sandalwood incense!

Listen, I’m not a «bead» type. I don’t wear long skirts, listen to earnest female singer-song writers, or ever plan on owning a dreamcatcher. But this store is useful for being the only place in town to get decent face and body products(gotta keep people on their toes about my real age) and Hue tights. Which of course I only buy in black or fishnet.

To be honest, I haven’t entered this store for my own purposes since my days of wearing tight bead necklaces due to loose affiliations with the local hardcore scene. Ah, scene fashion. I acutely remember that I started backing out of that approach to things when I saw kids graduate from beads and tiny metal balls to crazy things like plumbing/piping. When I come here now, it’s because my beloved is obsessed with beading and all trinkets associated with it. Bead Paradise continues to be a healthy source for Manic Panic hair dye in many colors(another circa high school draw), but it’s their ridiculously massive, varied selection of beads, silver goods, and ethnic jewelry that makes the impression. I’ll gladly admit that I judge any and all other bead shops next to this one. Hands down high quality. If beading is what you’re into, this is your place.

I met Ruth in a jewelry making class. She took pity on me because the teacher, in her dotage, couldn’t remember that the figure I was cutting into my silver ring was a dog, and would ask me each day, «How’s your pig coming?» Ruth would then start giggling and the teacher would look at her like she was a troublemaker. Ruth’s shop is the most unbelievable bead place I’ve ever seen. If you’re within a half-day drive and love beads and unique goods, well worth a visit.
