Love going here for a simple lunch or a special night out. Always good!

Tony’s is one of the very few restaurants I feel comfortable giving 5 stars to. This has been a family favorite for a while now. About 4 months ago I introduced it to my girlfriend and we have visited Tony’s at least once a week ever since, unless for some reason we’re out of town. Although we get the same thing every time, because we’re that in love with our order, the menu is so extensive you could try something new each time. It’s a great place for a casual date night, like our visits, or a special occasion dinner as the restaurant is divided into a half-hibachi house and half regular tables. I often see birthday and anniversary dinners while I’m there. Now onto the part of the review outside of the food. The staff is incredible. Tony himself is very interactive with his customers, often cracking jokes with regulars as they leave. I’ve seen him multiple times experimenting with new drinks for the menu during slow hours. He aims to keep his restaurant the best it can be. My girlfriend and I also have a favorite waitress, Kimberly, and are always greeted with the same excitement each time. She knows our entire order and it makes us feel at home. Like I said before, I’m not one to give five stars often, but I can’t think of anything bad to say about the place.

Went to Ora Aesthetics and stopped here on my way back to NPR. Best Sushi I’ve had in a while. Two thumbs up!

I give the food a 4.5-star experience. The table menu was varied and offers some very nice choices. The seafood tempura was very good. However, I will give a negative review about the wait. I was 3 minutes away and called in advance and was told it was no more than 15 minutes wait for a party of four. After 55 minutes, we finally sat down. Extremely frustrating. No offer by the management to pay for drinks or any other form of recompense. Our table server was awesome. Attentive, quick, accurate. Very likeable. All in all, 5-star service. So, 4.5 stars on food; 2 stars on management and unexplained wait-time; 5-stars for service.

I came here on 2 days close to each other last December. Food and environment were ok, perhaps somewhat on the pricey side when compared against similar places. The first time I thought it was ok, no issues and since I was in town on business and there were limited options at the later time when I was trying to have dinner, I was happy to find Tony’s open. I had chosen to return around the same later time(~9pm) the second time around as had visited a local all you can eat seafood buffet nearby only to find that the food at that place was cold and seemed old. The staff recognized me and cheerfully welcomed me back. I ordered a combo hibachi dish with chicken and although the chicken appeared«cooked» enough, I had been watching the hibachi chef and noted that he seemed to be in somewhat of a rush cooking the meals(maybe because it was end of his shift?). I personally cook chicken all the time and have watched many hibachi cooks ensure appropriate time for thorough cooking of chicken due to the risk of food borne illness. Upon receiving my portion of chicken, it appeared on the surface to be cooked but after biting into a FEW of the pieces, it did not seem to be as it was«crunchy» like raw chicken. Having never had this concern in the past, it was undoubtedly awkward especially given some of the other guests were eating the same chicken I was served. I did not say anything to the chef because I did not want to offend him but upon him leaving the table, I asked the other guest what she thought and she said hers was«ok.» I then told the waitress and gently suggested to maybe just take it off the bill(which amounted to only $ 2 off a nearly $ 30 plate, if I remember right). She went to the back and then a guy dressed in an old T-shirt and blue jeans came out and started interrogating me about the chicken. He asked if he could use the utensils on my plate to inspect the chicken and I said«ok,» but I was really uncomfortable. He then proceeded to cut the chicken and demonstrate to me saying«see, cooked… see, it’s cooked, what are you talking about?» I then advised him I see that and that’s why I tried a few of the morsels. I informed him, however, that it had an uncooked, «crunchy» consistency and that I was concerned that perhaps the cook time may not have been long enough. The whole situation was quite awkward because not only was he there but at that point, so were the chef as well as my table mates. When all was said and done, he agreed to remove the chicken part of the meal($ 2) from my bill. He did offer to provide me with an alternate item, but at that point, I was in some degree of «not knowing what to think» and politely declined. Upon sharing this experience with some of my friends, the consensus is that the waitress/management should have just removed the chicken price from the bill(or perhaps, discounted my plate by 50% or whatever) without the aforesaid scene.

Fun spot with outstanding selection of custom rolls the RayRay roll was perfect as was the ami ebi. Crowded and lots of habachi tables. Excellent service but could do without the TV though. Would recommend coming early on the weekend. Definite revisit.

Great food, but have heard some complaints on how clean the kitchen is. Standard hibachi chefs, not bad, but not especially good either.

Love love love this place! Hibachi is what you would expect, but we come here for the SUSHI!!! The fish always tastes excellent and fresh, and they have some fantastic and unique«special» rolls. Ask your server to tell you about the rolls that aren’t on the menu. The presentation is amazing to say the least. You won’t be disappointed!

Hands down the best sushi in town. Everything there is pretty great. If you want to experience a sample without breaking the bank go for the combination dinner. Mine had teriyaki steak, fried rice, green salad, miso soup, sushi and sashimi for just $ 14.95. On top of amazing food the service has always been outstanding regardless of how busy it was. I’d eat there every day if I could! The hibachi is always a great experience too but I usually just get a table and enjoy the delicious sushi and sashimi!

I think this is the best sushi in Ocala because the fish is always fresh, they don’t skimp on the fish in the rolls, and the rolls are creative with good flavor combinations. The other sushi places in Ocala give tiny amounts of fish for the same price. The servers are always very accommodating here as well, I always feel like they are Going the extra mile for the customer. My favorite is the green lantern roll.

My boyfriend and I dined here on our day off and it was wonderful! We were seated right away. Our waitress was very sweet but seemed really nervous, she was probably new but she did really good. The portions were also large so I had a lot to take home. The only downside was you couldn’t share the hibachi at all or it would be an extra $ 3 charge so I had to wait until we got in the car to finally try my boyfriend’s hibachi dish. The sushi rice also tasted a little watered down but it’s very hard to find genuine sushi rice these days anyways. Oh well, thank you! Will be back to try more dishes again!

Tony’s has gone downhill since I moved to Ocala five years ago. Even to the point where they now water down their soy sauce, which is just sad… Don’t be fooled by the pretty presentation. I would much rather go to Grace sushi and have prices that match the quality and amount of fish that is given.

Ate at a grill tonight, first time in ages. Ordered filet and lobster. Just hoping I make it through the night, not to sure about the lobster. Fishy and old frozen taste. Not good. Soup, Onion was also not great!

Had lunch with my husband who spent a month working and living in Japan this year. This is his review… Sushi is small in size compared to authentic Japanese. Tonys was ok in taste. The yakitori was smothered in thick sauce which made the Grilled zucchini very soggy defeated the purpose of grilling the food. A little sauce on side would be better if needed. The edamame appetizer was warm but good. In Japan it is not served warm. Incase you’ve not tried it, basically it’s steamed salted soybeans. I felt it was a similar flavor to eating pumpkin seeds which I love! We would return to Tonys but only because we don’t have an alternative.

Every time we are in Ocala Tonys is a must do! From hibachi to sushi there isn’t a bad choice on the menu. The staff is friendly and the service is always above par. My favorite is the specials they have from 2pm to 6pm. Great value.

Tony’s would not survive in my home town but it seems to be doing okay in Ocala, Fl. Presentation included a paper doily under the sushi and nothing else. I thought there was a bug in my white rice but the manager said it was ‘only’ burnt rice and the ceiling tiles are filthy. I think I will pass by this place the next time I’m in town.
