We ordered the sausage sandwich which left much to be desired. The peppers and onions were cold as well as the bread… nothing like Jersey boardwalk sausage sandwiches. The corndog was also cold and the servers weren’t all that friendly.. tried it once won’t ever try again…

My husband and I looked forward to a BBQ and thrashers fries. We ordered the BBQ sandwich — it was tasteless, cold and there wasn’t enough meat to fill the bun. In addition, the outdoor seating area was dirty.

This might sound ridiculous, but I am giving five stars just because of the funnel cake. Yes, the funnel cake. I fully realize the B in Boog’s is basically for BBQ, and I’m sure it’s great, but the funnel cake was literally the best I have had in years. Funnel cake is just deep fried batter, so you would think it’d be hard to get wrong. But lately, every time I go to get funnel cake from anywhere, it’s done in 5 seconds because it was already fried hours ago, then put under a heat lamp, or worse, just reheated right before being handed off to me. Pure. Tragedy. But Boog’s’ was fresh. It took a few minutes of waiting, but the fresh hot fried batter with plain powdered sugar was absolutely worth the $ 6 and 5 minutes. Thank you for restoring my faith in funnel cake, Boog.

This location is right next to the Thrashers on the boardwalk. I cant help but think this brings them alot of business for people who want to be able to sit down and eat their fries. They are somewhat hostile about the fries situation however. There are multiple signs hanging up saying things like«We are not responsible for your fries» and«If you ask us for ketchup, we will provide enough for your sandwich, not fries». This cracks we up because I wonder if this place would be in business if Thrashers were not next store. Either way, the BBQ here is average. The open pit sandwich is a good quality roast beef on a bun. There is nothing fancy about it. The turkey is good as well. I would have to say it is the second best roast beef on the boardwalk, followed behind Bull on the Beach.

My sausage sammitch yesterday at Springfest was about average those in NJ are head & shoulders better. The sign advertised $ 6.50 for the sandwich. The kid at the register charged me $ 7.50. I told him the sign said $ 6.50 and he told me the sign was old which I believe is illegal. As they were cooking the sammitch I overheard the kid at the register asking the manager about the price. He told the kid the sausages are supposed to be $ 6.50 as advertised on the sign. He kept the extra dollar anyways ! Moral of the story being if u wanna be intentionally ripped-off, visit Boog’s BBQ !

My boyfriend had the roma Italian sausage sandwich. It was overall a good sandwich. Its right near the amusement park. He just went there for a quick bite to eat. It was ok, would he and I return, no. We have tasted better, but it was right there, so we checked it out.

Had the sausage sandwich. Peppers were undercooked and onions were stringy and soft. Sausage was very spicy and good, but a little overdone on the ends. Chicken tenders for my daughter were typical frozen with a lot of batter. Also tried the pit beef and it was very good, not dry at all. Tip jar for English lessons for the Russian workers was pretty funny. Will probably go back.

Love the turkey sandwich from Boog’s, either from this beach location or when at OPACY(Oriole Park at Camden Yards). Always good at either location. I’m not a BBQ fan as I don’t normally like BBQ sauces, but I know my dad loves the BBQ sandwiches at Boog’s. Their sandwiches do, as I suggested in my review of Thrasher’s fries, and as others have suggested as well, make a great pairing with Thrasher’s fries. Atmosphere at Boog’s BBQ beach location(at least at the inlet) is pretty much non-existent. There are a couple of painted picnic tables, and that is about it. Relatively short lines, if any line at all, and a reasonable selection of menu items to fit most fans of BBQ fare.

This stand is almost as good as being in the park. The park version will be hotter. They usually have seasonal corn on the cob as well. Stick to the traditional pit beef with bbq and onions. Some like it with horseradish. Pit beef is a true MD sandwich, so enjoy it while you are here. One time I took a buddy of mine from San Diego to Camden Yards. 10 years later he still talks about that sandwich.

In a sea of over-priced crap on the boardwalk this was a good sandwich! I had the pit beef and went around the corner and got some fries from Thrasher’s and I was a happy man.
