Finnegan’s Pub and Eatery

Ordered the ½ lb bacon cheese burger at Finnegan’s (@ the Princess Bayside Hotel, 48^th ST & Coastal Hwy) and what an incredible burger it was. It came out just the way I like it – medium rare. The burger was juicy and so flavorful served on a dusted kaiser roll. The best burger I’ve had in recent memory. And when they say it’s ½ lb, that’s the post cooking weight. The fresh-​cut fries were off the hook, similar to fries you’d get at Thrashers. Cooked to a perfect golden brown and piled high. I’m telling you people, you cannot go wrong with their burger and fries. The bar tender stated that Finnegan’s switched to a new meat vender. Whatever their doing, don’t change a damn thing – just outstanding. And Finnegan’s has many menu items for under $ 10.00 – especially in O.C., where it seems most restaurants are more interested in $queezing interloping tourists, than serving decent food.
The bar area is comfortable and inviting with plenty of large flat-​screen TV’s. If you happen to have Mike tend bar, he’ll pours with a heavy hand and serves ups great drinks.

Absolutely the worst service I’ve ever had. Come here for vacation and want to go to an Irish pub. DONT GO THERE!!! So rude. Maybe if you were nicer you would get more service and make money. So disrespectful!

This was hands down the worst place that we have ever gone to. Cannot believe that it is still open and that the hotel that it is connected to would allow such a place to be there. It was dirty, dusty, there was grime on the tables. They served my wine to me in a plastic cup and my husbands beer in a clear solo cup. The food was horrible. The hot wings were fatty and chewy. The french onion soup was so salty! It tasted like they put Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce in a crock with some tarred covered onions and croutons and then covered it with cheese. We couldn’t even eat it. The sandwiches were nothing to write home about. The only nice thing about this place was the waitress, who should find a better place to work in. Do not waste your time or money!!!

Stopped in for breakfast before checking out of the hotel because we saw the buffet from the hall. $ 9.95 for buffet: scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, biscuits with gravy, and pancakes.
The eggs were very dry, the potatoes while a little soggy were actually delicious, the bacon tasted like it was all cooked in the same fat but that the fat had burned-​the bacon itself wasn’t burned, but tasted like it was, the biscuit was pretty good and the sausage gravy wasn’t bad either.
No one else was in the restaurant when we had breakfast at 9:30 which I was a little surprised by.

We ate dinner there our first night since we were given free breakfast if we ate dinner there. The waitresses were all new straight from Ireland. They didn’t really know the menu yet and we had 4 waitresses serving us. The burgers were good and the drinks kept flowing. They also had a golf video game.
For breakfast we were told we would get a free breakfast buffet with the purchase of a beverage. They said that they didn’t have the buffet and could order anything from the menu. We each ordered a meal and a coffee and the waitress said it was all covered and we didn’t have to pay for the drinks. I’m guessing the bill was less them the buffet.
Great place if you are looking do affordable food down the shore.

Awful!!! We went for breakfast on 6÷4÷13 and food was burnt I asked if they were bringing any other food out the waitress laughed said that’s it. STAY AWAY bad food bad service.

Beware! Stay far, far away! I have never in my life experienced such awful service from the most incompetent people. My friends and I decided to grab lunch here before hitting the road to return home after a weekend in Ocean City. Without going into detail, here were a few of the issues. I could go on for days…
1. One of the individuals in my party waited for 30 minutes before being brought the drink they ordered.
2. Our appetizer showed up after our main courses.
3. I have never seen a more severely burned burger in my life. The thing was jet black.
4. We had to get up and order a second round of drinks at the bar because our waitress would just disappear for 20 minutes at a time.
5. I had to get up and get my own silverware from the hostess stand.
6. One of the sandwiches ordered was supposed to come with fries. They brought
the sandwich without the fries and said those were coming in a minute. Never saw the fries.
This place is good for nothing. Don’t waste your time or money.

We stopped here for breakfast one morning during our recent trip. I believe they only offer a buffet for breakfast, as we weren’t offered menus, but that was perfectly fine with us.
The buffet was $ 10/​person and had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, creamed chipped beef (my personal favorite!), potatoes, a couple cereals, some muffins and toast and juices. There were a couple of additional items too, but I don’t recall right now. It wasn’t anything elaborate, but it certainly hit the spot for a day of walking and spending time on the beach.
