Went here for a nice mid-afternoon meal/bonding time with my brother. I’m from SoJo but hadn’t been to OC in a while, so I consulted Unilocal for a new place to try. Liked the overall ambience; very chill and had local artists’ paintings on the wall(which are available for purchase). Don’t let the mellow atmosphere fool you, however. This place had food offerings that were as satisfying and ‘down home’ as you’d expect from a laid-back local spot, but as diverse and well-executed as a place that you might think you’d have to head off the island to. No need to get all dressed up and travel to Atlantic City, Philadelphia, NYC, etc. for great food! I’m glad I had looked at the reviews before chowing down. The overall consensus seemed that the bacon/chive tots were a ‘must have’. I completely agree! We also had the fried tomato with crab as an appetizer. My brother, whose name is Jake, absolutely had to try the«Jake Burger» of course. My entrée was their version of Chicken and Waffles. I am personally more of a pancake person, but these are about the closest I’ve ever been to converting. Hands down, the fluffiest waffles I have ever had. My overall impression of the place is that, no matter what I had ordered, I would have probably enjoyed it. Will definitely be returning here next time I head over to the OC.

I’ll make it short: Great food. Terrible service. Especially the surly guy in the kitchen. Wouldn’t recommend.

We have heard about Fire! for a few months and wanted to try it out. Made a dinner reservation but really didnt need to on the Friday after Labor Day. I guess the crowds have gone home. We were greeting warmly and seated at a table for two. The place is small. so I can see how it would fill up on busy shore days/nights. Justin was our server. He was very friendly and helped us with our choices. Menu was full of things we wanted to try, so we do need to come back. As a scrapple fan, I was interested in the salad with scrapple croutons. I didnt go for that, though. I had the bacon meatloaf special and my wife decided on the mac & cheese with spinach and crab meat. The meatloaf was two large pieces of meatloaf wrapped in and filled with bacon. It also had mushrooms and topped a gravy/sauce with grits. The grits were not a problem evenn if you don’t like them since it was like a rice based sauce, really. I could only finish one of the meatloaves. My wife loved the mac cheese. A penne-type pasta smothered in cheese sauce with fresh spinach and large ample pieces of lump crab meat. Yes, we will go back again to try their other plates and probably for breakfast, too! They take credit/cash cards(sometimes a rarity in OC) and metered parking on Asbury Avenue(in season) if you plan to park there.(25 cents/hour.)

Awesome! Went with my wife and son, to get a quick bite before strolling the boardwalk. I had a burger, my wife had the seafood chowder, and my some also had a burger. We ordered some fries for the table, nod they came out right out of the fryer! Fresh, tasty, and done perfectly. I can’t say anything other than, wow! Not only was the food outstanding, but my wife thought that the chowder was some of the best she’s ever had. That’s saying a lot, as she is not easily impressed. On my list of «best of the shore».

Wow… this place is good! Ordered the breakfast burrito that was HUGE(enough to share) and super flavorful. the Cuban black beans were an excellent part of the meal. Also ordered the Jersey devil. The chefs take on eggs Benedict. The Taylor pork roll and super fluffy biscuits(more than one I might add) were totally delish! It comes with cheddar also that I think may not be necessary but still fantastic. The owner chef came out twice to chat with us which made us feel very welcome… Would definitely come back for another meal. Maybe lunch next time

We are local to the island and have been dying to try this new restaurant since it’s opening but haven’t gotten around to it until now(they typically close on the early side). I had the summer flounder off the special menu and was very excited to try this. The fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce was tasty. However, I was very upset that an $ 18 entrée special did not come with ANYTHING on the side or in advance. No veggies(a small amount of diced tomatoes mixed in the sauce is not a side), no rice or risotto, no starter salad or soup– literally JUST the fish. Absurd. My boyfriend has the buffalo chicken sandwich(surprise! Didn’t come with fries, cole slaw or anything as well). The hot sauce was particularly spicy and the blue cheese(not dressing, just blue cheese) was strong. I liked it but a different palette may not. The worst part of the experience was the service. They were all very friendly and polite but way too inattentive for a barely packed dining room. We had our order taken and our food brought to us and that was it. Our drinks were sitting empty the entire time we ate and were only refilled when we were practically done eating(we had not been checked on until then). I have been a waitress and have reasonable expectations from severs. This service was not up to par. A lot of potential but unfortunately disappointing.

Really good food & coffee choices. Everyone loved their breakfast including the awesome oatmeal & frosted flake coated French toast. Bonus — There was a guy on guitar playing live music the Sunday morning we were there. I would highly recommend.

I came here for brunch with my husband, best friend and her boyfriend who flew in from CA for a family week at the shore. I have never been to the shore before but I do know how to pic a good spot for a good bite. I read the reviews for this establishment and they seemed pretty good and I was sold once I saw the pics and found out that they have Eggs Benedict! I ordered the Boardwalk Benedict which consisted of an open– faced biscuit with house-made Italian sausage, poached eggs, broccoli rabe, sharp provolone sauce. I had a side of home-fries instead of grits because I prefer my grits with shrimp/salmon for dinner! My husband ordered the same thing. I wanted sauteed peppers and onions rather than the broccoli rabe and asked our server if this was alright. She said she would double check but implied that the kitchen was pretty flexible. She came back and confirmed that my wish was granted and of course I was super stoked! My dinning mates all picked awesome meals and as we waited for our food to come out a pretty decent band consisting of 2 gentleman played music. When our food came out everything looked and smelled delish! Their home made biscuits were to die for! If I go back to the shore next summer I will be returning. There were so many other yummy items on their menu and you can’t beat the price. Each of our meals which were of generous portions were about $ 10 each! Nice!

Went here for a late lunch. Great tasting food, fast service and friendly staff. Best of all… not on the boardwalk! Started off with the ‘murican nachos… probably could have split just these and would have been plenty full. Home made chips, an amazing béchamel, fresh guac, and fresh jalapeños were the highlight. Wife had a salad — it was huge. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich which was also super tasty. Highly recommended !!

Probably the best restaurant in Ocean City. Great, friendly service and you can tell that all the ingredients are very high quality. You can go there any time of the day as they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have fresh fish for dinner and great burgers for lunch. I would definitely go there again.

We went for breakfast — 10 of us, no waiting! Some menu highlights for us were — homemade corned beef hash, PBJ French Toast & a giant omelet. Service was great, the food was stellar and the ambiance was good too, with art hanging on the wall. My only regret is we didn’t get back for dinner one night. Another upside — they take plastic! A TON of places down here only take cash… I bet the IRS has a field day down here…

I’ve been visiting Ocean City annually for over 25 years now and have eaten at almost every dining establishment on the island. While there are some decent choices all shore food is pretty predictable and, as a whole, not that special. When I read about the recently opening of Fire! and saw they now served dinner I was excited to give it a shot. The space is small and diner-like with the walls bedecked by paintings of local artists. The menu doesn’t fit the décor at all. I swore I was in a more upscale establishment, one you might find in a city like Philadelphia. Huge menu with unique, innovative dishes promoting a farm(and sea) to table dining experience. My guest and I shared several dishes. We started with the caprese salad which was delicious. It was a large portion with fresh Jersey tomatoes and mozzarella on top of a creamy basil sauce. While the freshness was outstanding the sauce was what made the dish unique and memorable. We then had the charcuterie and cheese plate. This was HUGE! We couldn’t believe the amount of cheese — a bleu, a creamy brie, and a stinky cheese(red something — I forget the whole name). Our waiter warned us of the stinky cheese which isn’t usually an issue for us, but even this one was a bit too strong. The other cheeses were delectable, as were the meats and various fruit compotes. We went on to share the bacon and chive mac & cheese. Definitely a loose interpretation of mac & cheese as it was more of an alfredo sauce… and it was absolutely luscious. So creamy. It’s a large serving so I was fine splitting it but I did consider taking another order to go so I could experience those flavors a bit longer. Finally we shared the beef & bleu flatbread. This was a flatbread adorned with flank steak, caramelized onions and a bleu cheese sauce. Tender steak, savory sauce, crispy bread. Excellent. We were tempted to try the dessert but we were stuffed by the end of our meal. Unilocal was running a promotion at the time of our visit($ 30 for $ 20) so it was a great way to try out the new restaurant. The service was friendly and fast, though our server did have to run to the kitchen a couple times to answer some questions we had regarding the menu — for instance, he didn’t know the cheeses on the cheese board. They were also out of at least 6 menu items at 5 pm. We were still left with plenty of options to choose from, but it seemed a bit odd to be out of so many things. All in all I will without a doubt return here the next time I am in Ocean City. In fact, I might arrange my next shore trip sooner than later just so I can eat here again. Absolutely astonished a restaurant like this exists in OCNJ. Way to go, guys!

What a GREAT find this turned out to be. Great ATTITUDE and cuisine. The ownership and staff have personality. No going wrong on this stop. We’re from Massachusetts and would go out of our way to visit here again. If I may, key recommendation DONOTSEASON the burger until you bite into it… I found I couldn’t(wouldn’t) put it down and there was NOTHING I could do to this to make it any better.

We stopped here for a quick lunch to try some place new. The restaurant is small but it had 2 bigger tables to accommodate my family & I. We ordered the burgers and an order of speciality fries and tator tots. The burgers were juicy and tasted great. The fries and tator tots were full of cheesy goodness with crispy bacon and a ton of it. Our sever was funny and even though the place was packed she checked in on us several times. I highly suggest giving this place a try. They also have a deal on Unilocal right now so it’s win win.

Service was great — friendly and fast. We went for dinner on a Sunday night. Wasn’t too crowded, and we made reservations ahead of time to be sure. Food was so-so. Tater tots are like potato pancakes, different and tasted good. Two people in our party had fish-n-chips: fish was described as having no flavor, and pile of fries were soggy and undercooked. Another person had the hamburger with brie which was a very soggy mess. My hamburger sliders were good, but lots of butter on the rolls. Chowdah was good and spicy, but not was I was thinking of when I think chowder(creamy white New England). I guess we aren’t big fried food fans, so we won’t be back. Sorry :(

Our server was very nice, and their homemade tater tots are great. As for the rest… not so much. Very bland Greek lamb burger, my wife ate half and didn’t bother to bring the rest for later. Fries were greasy and not crisp(temp of cooking oil too low!). Tomatoes in my Calabrese were mush. Are you kidding me!!! It is July in Southern New Jersey are you kidding me? That was just rediculous. As excited as I was to try a new place here in OC, I don’t feel any inclination to return again.

We found this place while driving to another(far more touristy) destination for breakfast. Wanting something quieter we popped in and were not disappointed. The décor is very simple and clean, and reminded me of a small town café right down to seating ourselves upon entering. The food was fantastic and you could tell it was freshly made with fresh ingredients Their biscuits and preserves being especially noteworthy. All in all it had a café feel, portions(and price) with high end brunch quality. A return visit is without a doubt in our future.

Three of us went to Fire! on The Beach for an early lunch and we’re thrilled with our meal. We started with the caprese salad that was fresh as well as surprising with a crunchy taste of sea salt. We each had a different burger that we had to have each other taste as the taste combinations were so different and yet perfect. Today we returned for an early Father’s Day dinner — and this time we were a party of 8. Another amazing treat! Each plate elicited oohs and ahs. The question was: do we come every day of our vacation in Ocean City? Oh, wait, they are closed on Mondays!(they are open for dinner even though Unilocal shows that they are closed)

This place is going to be a rising star in OC. We got the scallop app and it was fantastic. The layering and the sauce was quite a work of art. The tomato bisque was above average. For entrees we had the steak & buttermilk blue cheese flatbread as well as the fish & chips. Both were perfectly prepared. I highly recommend the steak dish. The service was fast and fabulous. The ordering system is done on an iPad while the server is at the table. Got the order is quick, no mistakes and the food was on the table in no time. Again, I think this place is worth a visit while in OC.
