I don’t think its a coincidence it rhymes with «dive». 2 stars are for a great view (if you can go for a sunset cocktail the bay view is fantastic) and for the service which was very friendly. We were there in the off season so perhaps that was a factor but the food selection and final product were very sub-​par. Could be cool in the summer if they had good music and dancing but I can’t confirm if there is that option.
Go for sunset, stick to drinks, and you’ll be satisfied thanks to mother nature. Go any other time and you’re rolling the dice, in my opinion.

Potentially Life-​Threatening Conduct by JIVE.
On July 5, 2014 I patronized JIVE. After dinner I felt ‘odd’ — I decided to visit the restroom. On the way, I became dizzy, briefly blacked out, and collapsed to the floor. I had numbness in my arm, difficulty breathing, and was shaking and unable to walk. Friends came to my aid and were followed by a female employee of JIVE. The employee was insensitive and loudly demanded that my friends «…get her out of here!» They ignored her and carried me to the restrooms where I became violently ill (from both ends). The employee followed, and persisted with her loud demands. Fortunately, a nurse and an EMT who were dining at JIVE accompanied us to the restroom to assist. The nurse stated that I required an ambulance and immediate attention. The employee vehemently insisted that she did not want an ambulance at the establishment. Again, she demanded that I be removed from the premises. The EMT got me into the car and we proceeded to the medical center. First, I was already mortified as it is likely that patrons presumed I was intoxicated. Second, it was offensive and embarrassing to have this supposition encouraged by the reaction of the employee. Third, heart disease runs in my family and my symptoms pointed to a possibility serious issue — if it had been a heart attack, an ambulance would have been critical. Fortunately, it was not — medical attention revealed an adverse reaction to a new medication. For clarity, let me stress that I am not a big drinker and had one martini at JIVE. In addition, at the time of the incident I was coherent, articulate, and (other than collapsing) displayed none of the signs of someone who had over-​imbibed. I was humiliated and offended by the disrespectful, unprofessional treatment I received from JIVE, and their obstruction to swift medical attention could have endangered my life.

Fridays and Saturdays they always have live music 8 – 12. Many places claim to have the ‘best sunset’ but Jive offers a calm beautiful romantic view filled with a lush marsh where you can see birds and other sorts of bay life. Its quiet (til the music starts). Bar tenders are friendly, fun, and can make the best drinks… tho a little strong sometimes but are you really gonna complain about that?
To the above complaints of service being bad: this is a seasonal bar so wait staff is always different so don’t let it discourage you.

Gorgeous décor, fantastic view of the bay, and strong drinks. We loved it, but it wasn’t crowded. We can’t figure out why that is. If you are looking for a hide-​away spot, or to get away from the club scene, this is a great spot.

Outdoor deck is the perfect place to watch the sun set over the bay. Food was good but a bit pricey. The service was horrific. We sat unattended for 35 minutes and finally had to flag down a server to request menus.

Sunsets here are a must!
How can you get any better than sitting on their out door deck, sipping a martini and watching the sun set? You can’t. Over the years Jive has been under the management of several different people but has always seemed to maintain it’s ambiance. There are new managers again this year and they have continued the same service and style. I was so happy when I stopped in to check it out again. Yes the drinks are a little steep in price, but aren’t they just about everywhere in town?

Delicious martinis in a cool, swanky atmosphere. The bartenders offer good suggestions for drinks, and everyone there seems to enjoy their jobs there, which makes it a fun place to hang out.
We always end up at the bar inside, but it looked as if there was a great outdoor area that would be awesome to lounge out there.

Very mod décor and interesting drink menu. The bartenders were very friendly. We tried to go twice, looking for live music, and the place was dead both times. The first time there was no live music at all, in spite of being told that they had live music every night. We went the second time because there was supposed to be live jazz, but instead it was some guy covering mid-​to-​late-​90s alternative songs.
The place seems to have potential and I did like it there, but it was unfortunate that it was so dead when we went!
