This place is great. Been there several times in the past few months. Pizza, Stromboli, pasta dishes, steak special with shrimp, salads are all wonderful and fairly priced. I recommend this restaurant.

Pizza was good. Chicken dish was overpriced & small portion. We wait very long for our meal. Probably will not return.

This was one of those, «let’s take a shot here». We were shopping on the strip there and were actually looking for a pizza joint. They had«hand tossed pizza» written on the board out front, soooo… what the heck. Once inside we immediately noticed linen table cloths and candlelight. Not the usual seashore pizza place. I’m glad we decided to stay. It was pre-dinner rush so seating was a breeze. Waitstaff was immediately friendly to our two little ones and very attentive. We stayed on our pizza quest and ordered a large plain and a large white. Great pizza! Great crust, great sauce. Great pizza! Our two girls wanted soup as well. The soup of the day was an Italian veggie with pasta. The soup was above average. Smelled and tasted homemade. The rest of the dinner menu, as well as, the daily specials all looked great as they passed us on the way to various tables. This place deserves another trip on our part for a dinner or two. Great job Nonna.

We were shopping on Asbury Avenue and as we passed Nonna’s at lunchtime, there was a young lady handing out menus. We were hungry and decided to go in. There were only one or two other parties seated at this time. We ordered iced teas and perused the menu. Once we had decided, we put our orders in: mine for the crab cake sandwich, and my husband’s for a personal-size pizza. While we were waiting, we sipped on our iced tea and chatted. Suddenly we realized our iced teas were empty and our food still hadn’t arrived. We flagged down the waitress, who assured us that the food was coming up in just a minute. More minutes ticked by and no food arrived. We flagged down the hostess, who gave us the excuse that one of their two chefs had not shown up, but that the food was coming out now. We waited still longer, then looked at each other and decided that this was ridiculous. Forty-five minutes had gone by. We went to the hostess and told her we were paying for our iced tea and leaving. I pointed out to her that one chef should easily be able to accommodate the few tables of patrons that were waiting. She did not charge us for the iced tea and we left. I suspect that there was NO chef in the kitchen and that they were just stalling. They should not have been pulling people in off the street, nor should they have even opened for business if they were unable to serve food. We will never return.

We went there while on vaca, just because the Jay’s crabshack was close(that’s what we wanted to try). The food was ok. Not horrible but not excellent. I ordered the chicken parm, it comes with a salad or a veggie, i picked the salad, n then my chicken came out with nothing, no pasta, etc… ordered brocoli n it looked like they scraped all the black stuff off the grill unto the brocoli. I thought it was pricey for what you got/didn’t get. Anyways i give the food a 3⁄5. The cleaniness I give a 1/5, the bathroom floor looked like it hadnt been cleaned in months, the floor leading to kitchen(that you could see) was the same. Wouldn’t visit again.

If anything, do not buy into the 1 – 2 star reviews on this place. Most likely out of towners that love to criticize the restaurant’s quality, because they were forced to wait for a table in a tourist town. I have been going to Nonna’s for the past half year, and have not had a disappointing experience. Their white pizza with broccoli is ridiculously good, along with the carbonara, eggplant parm, meatball parm, even down to their sea salt and cracked pepper French fries. If you want great tasting food with attention to detail, give Nonna’s a try. You won’t regret it!

Haven’t had a bad meal yet! Came here the night before Easter for my wife’s birthday dinner with her parents and our daughter. Our daughter is a chicken parmigiana fanatic and has had it everywhere from OC to Philadelphia and she loved it. My father in law and I both got the eggplant Rollatini and it was delicious as always. My wife and mother in law both got chicken Marsala and said it was some of the best they’ve had. Unfortunately they were out of their awesome lemon mascarpone cake. That cake alone is worth the trip. It’s the perfect after dinner desert. Our server, Melanie was attentive, funny, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. What more could you ask?

This is a unique review due to the fact that we were not ALLOWED to actually eat at the restaurant. Therefore it is more about employee experience and owner courtesy. I was with my two kids and went to Nonna’s on a Saturday night at 7:45 after what I would presume would have been the dinner rush and well before closing time. We walked in behind a party of 7 to find a young hostess who was obviously frantic. She immediately told us the wait would be around 20 minutes or more if we were willing to wait. This seemed odd as when I looked inside there were a number of empty tables and there appeared to be at least 3 wait staff. Having been a waiter the ratio didn’t seem outrageous at all. They cleared and sat the 7 and then the hostess proceeded to tell me that they were not going to seat us and would not be taking any additional patrons. When I asked her why, she said because they were short staffed and too backed up. I have to say, I was actually quite surprised and at this point a bit pissed as I had an obviously frazzled and young girl making decisions that seemed ludicrous. I asked her if she was the owner or had the authority to make such a decision. She was at least honest and said no at which time I asked to speak to the owner. I truly believed that no owner would treat a potential client a good hour and a half before closing in such a manner. She left to head back to the kitchen, I believe only to come back about 5 minutes later to tell me that the owner was to busy and couldn’t talk to me. Hence me writing this review. I can only assume that the chef walked out as I would think it would have to be something as serious to result in such a response. I have to say, I am actually quite sympathetic and patient in most cases as I know the pressures of a bad night but this was really just a terrible way to handle the matter and something that any good owner and restauranteur should better handle. Perhaps if I ever return, I can get to actually review the food.

I had penne and meatballs — which where pretty average.(Nothing spectacular) My grandma had chicken parm and she said it was very good! They only annoying thing was through the entire dinner there was a gnat! Also the marinara sauce is quite spicy. Keep in mind for your children. We did go for an early dinner so I can’t say anything about crowds or noise.

If you want GOOD Italian food and/or decent service, don’t go here. Their marinara is overloaded with pepper. Our mouths were burning after dipping bread in it. We paid fifteen dollars for a four-Piece bruschette which had no flavor other than raw red onion. Dinner was hit and miss. Out of five adults, three were happy(2 veal parms and a veal marsala), one was content(chicken parm sandwich), and one was disappointed(manicotti and meatballs). All meals were luke-warm at best, but it is difficult to know if that’s the kitchen’s or server’s fault… Service was sloooooooooooooooowww. Empty glasses and plates were stacked, waiting for removal and refills. For the nice ambience and décor, the actual dining experience here needs more attention(as do the dirty table linens).

TERRIBLESERVICE… do not order takeout — we made the order and was told to pick it up in 30 minutes. I arrived after 30 minutes and then had to wait for another 45 minutes. To make matters worse, the take out bags were tied tightly and I was promised that everything was there. Of course, after getting home, the order was not correct. I called back and I asked that the missed order be delivered but was told it would not be delivered for over an hour. While having to wait for 45 minutes, I observed the lack of good service. Also, the food was less than average.

This was our second and probably last time at Nonna’s. We really enjoyed the sandwiches and service last summer, but when we went back this week, the service was not good, our sandwiches were still tasty, but the lack of service will keep us from coming back. We were sitting outside and we were very patient, but 10 minutes after getting our food, I had to go back inside to request napkins, silverware and additional drinks the waitress said she would bring before our food was delivered. About 15 minutes after finishing our sandwiches, which were good, I once again went inside to request our check, because we still had not seen our waitress since she dropped off our food.

We ordered Calamari for our appitizer, it was so tough we couldn’t eat it. My wife ordered eggplant parm sandwich, what she got was meatball parm that was hard as a rock. where the heck did they get that recipe,. def. not Italian. I ordered the pasta with garlic and oil, it tasted ok but the portion size was like an appitizer size, come on pasta is cheap, i got about 10 cents worth. The French Fries were so greasy my wife spit it out. Forget about the service, it was a bunch of kids who have no experience. YUK, never again.

Great find in Ocean city. The food is great and the pasta is fresh. We had the pesto and the puttanesca which were both fresh and tasty. The place is huge and great for families. Good service, homely feel and worth the money!

stopped by to get two pizzas for the road. i’ve heard decent things about this place from a couple people who work in OC so we gave it a shot. it was mid-afternoon on a dreary winter weekend so the place was super slow. the women who took our order was very nice — we got a large plain pizza and large vegetable pizza(red). we left and came back to pick up our order and a very nice young woman brought the pies out. within the to go menus on a table out front we were able to find a $ 5 coupon for orders over(i think) $ 25 so we used that and they had no issue. the pizzas were indeed very good. huge(~18″) with a relatively thin bottom crust. good cheese, good proportions between cheese/sauce/crust, etc. the sauce is pretty sweet — not the biggest fan of sweetened sauces but it was still very good in light of the rest of the flavors. the veggie pie was awesome! SO many various things piled on — portabella shrooms, onions, broccoli, peppers, tomatoes, spinach and possibly olives. it was really nice.

Was slightly skeptical about getting good Italian on the island, but we had a great experience. Chicken Marsala was fantastic and stuffed shells were great as well. Would definitely come back!

Got some pizza and chicken Caesar salads. Pizza was little light in cheese and toppings but otherwise good. Salads were good and the chicken on salad was delightful.

We chanced on this place while strolling Ashbury Ave. with our extended family. It’s a bit light on décor/character, but the food we ordered was solid Italian, and very good by OC standards. Although we ate indoors, they had a nice set of tables outside on the sidewalk as well. Besides solid food, two things made it for us:(1) Our server was very attentive, pleasant, and no matter what our request, was happy to oblige.(2) Jamie(the owner, we later found out) came by to check on how we were doing.
