The Original Fudge Kitchen

Why 4 stars? First off, the Fudge Kitchen has the best fudge, hands down. There is nothing better anywhere. We were in on an off-​season, yet busy day. There were 2 people in line returning items.
One was returning fudge for being «as hard as a rock», & the other to return salt water taffy for the same reason. The person rerunning the salt water taffy looked annoyed when the Russian gentleman behind the counter either didn’t understand her complaint, or simply just didn’t care. She broke out a piece, trying to show him that the taffy wouldn’t twist, & he took the taffy & told her that they would work on finding more fresh taffy for her. I gather that she ended up waiting a while. One of our kiddos wanted 1 chocolate covered pretzel. The same gentleman that had sent someone off to find more fresh taffy for the woman in line said. «Pretzel only by weight». I thought «ok-​so-​weigh out the pretzel & I’ll pay for it». Apparently there is a minimum weight that you must buy. Uh-​like wholesale? Anyway. After that-​we all just sort of said forget it, & grabbed some Irish Potatoes «rolled fresh everyday». Ours must have been rolled on a different day bc when we got back to the house, they were as hard as a rock. Never had this problem during the summer, so I’m guessing that during off season, you’re going to get some older product. Again-​during the summer-​no better fudge anywhere.

Great fudge. Every summer I have to stop by and get a pound of fudge. While you are walking by on the boardwalk there is always someone outside giving away free samples. There is a large variety of different types of fudge that you can get.

We were gifted a large portion of most excellent fudge and another modest portion of Old Fashion Long Salt Water Taffy. The fudge rocked my socks right off. The salt water taffy is good, but it pales in comparison to the fudge. And among the fudge selections, the maple fudge was the hands-​down best. I must have more. Just fantastic.

I am loyal to Fudge Kitchen simply because the fudge is the best. It is fresh, fresh, fresh. The flavors are varied, tasty and just plain wonderful. Especially in the off season the fudge is fresh, unlike other establishments. I ship it a few times a year to my college age children and it’s met with HUGE expressions of gratitude. I don’t eat the taffy or whatever else they sell. But as for the fudge, it cannot be beat anywhere.

This is the best fudge I’ve ever had anywhere. Smooth and creamy, never grainy, and dozens of flavors. If you don’t absolutely love the fudge here, stick to ice cream, caramel corn, funnel cakes, or other sweet treats you can get at other places on the boardwalk. With the price of this stuff, though, make sure you use the coupons available all over the place at the visitors center across the boardwalk to save $ 1 a pound. For those of you who have been going to Ocean City for decades, I would swear that this is the same delicious recipe used by the old Copper Kettle Fudge Shop in the ‘60s. They even hand whip the fudge in front of the store in what could certainly pass for the same copper kettles.

Hands down the best fudge ever!!! It doesn’t even compare to any other fudge shop. I buy a big box and throw it in the freezer to eat during the year, vanilla walnut in my favorite. They let you sample them which is so nice so try as many as you like and stop by the convention center across the boardwalk for a coupon!

I have been going to the Ocean City boardwalk for years. But today is the first time I purchased fudge from the fudge kitchen. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about what items are gluten free. I purchased the salted caramel fudge today and it was amazing. My only regret was that I did not buy more of this delicious fudge.

We usually purchase fudge from another establishment in Ocean City, but we were there today and they were handing out free samples. Delicious. Smooth, creamy and not overly sugary. Took home a pound for the grandparents.
