Just came off the beach and wanted something to cool down. I’ll take one of these Italian ices over ice cream any day. So many flavors to choose from! I could go everyday and get something different each time.

Amazing Italian ice! I visited the spot on the OIB pier. The selection of flavors is almost overwhelming but its a sure bet that everyone will find something that they like! The Italian ice is soft, the perfect texture, not hard to eat at all. I had The Donald, which was a mix if fruity flavors. Highly recommend for a cool treat at the beach!

Best slush I’ve ever had. They have so many flavors and they are all amazing and they’re always adding new ones. Looking forward to riding our bikes there next year for another.

We always look forward to coming and getting this treat. People who work are nice people. We enjoy seeing the same faces all the time year around when we come to ocean isle Wether u want something chilly to the bone or nice way to relax this Italian ice will give u a nice relaxing snack!

OMG! All I wanted was a slushie and we stumbled upon this place. AMAZING. The guy took his time trying to figure out what I liked and didn’t. Let us sample as much as we wanted. Well worth the trip! Hope to be back soon!

Best place on earth! We come 7 nights a week during our yearly vacation. Makes the 7hour drive all that much worth the while!

Italian Ice done right. This stuff is velvety smooth, flavorful and delicious. For an extra special treat, try the gelati — italian ice layered with soft serve ice cream. This place was cute and looks to have been recently built or remodeled. Lots of nice shaded outdoor seating, including rocking chairs and picnic tables amidst pretty landscaping. The owners were great, as well — very friendly and helpful. Initially, they gave us some background info on their tasty treats and offered us samples. Later, when we asked one of their employees about using a restroom and told no, Steve, one of the owners, came out to explain why they weren’t able to provide public bathrooms.

This place is awesome. I was in OIB with 3 others and we came across fantastic reviews on trip advisor and thought we had to try it. Unfortunately, we were there during off season, but came across a sign on the door that said you could call them if you wanted some Italian ice, even though they were closed for the season… we did just that. Even though the owners, were incredibly busy doing house work, they met us at 5 pm on a Friday and they opened up shop. They were so genuinely enthusiastic about their product. They allowed us to have many samples and told us the history of their shop. This is exactly the type of place you want to give business to. Absolutely the perfect place to get a cool treat on a hot summer day. HIGHLY recommend!

So word on the beach was this place had«wine slushies»! So out of curiosity my family and had to check it out. On top of every flavor you would want, they had wine slushies. Throughout the week I tried various flavors without the alcohol. All were great. Other family members tried various alcohol slushies. No disappointments their either. The staff was great as well! Make sure to call ahead if you want an alcoholic slush. According to the young girls working on one of my visits they no longer serve the drinks listed on the website that have liqueur in them. They were also out of most wines.

Stopped by based on ratings and I was not disappointed. The slushes were great, and the staff was happy to provide samples. I really recommend doing it «gelati style»(with ice cream on top). They also only take checks or cash.

This is probably my favorite ice cream place in the area. The other one on the Island uses ice cream vs. soft serve, and I’m not a fan. The owners here are super friendly and very dedicated to their business. Always a must stop when I’m in the area.

I have had every type of Italian Ice in the north, Rita’s, Lemon Ice King of Corona, Ralph’s and Jackies Lemon Ice in Beleville, NJ. Sunset Slush is by far the best. I have tried the store in Ocean Isle Beach, the Pier and the carts on the beach. Great taste, great quality, priced right. More important to me is service and attitude. These people are great. Always smiling and friendly. Don’t know how the owners do it but they are always working and available. John C

This place is horrible. Unfriendly staff, and ive never seen such small cups of italian ice ever. Major rip off, lots of flavors but its just an unhappy italian ice place that is overpriced for a little cup of ice.

If you like Italian ice then you will enjoy sunset slush. Smooth ice and lots of interesting flavored to choose from. I got the zombie since I couldn’t decide(it’s a rainbow ice). Like other reviewers have mentioned, the staff is generous with samples and is eager to help you.

Sunset Slush is about as good as it gets for an ice cold and flavorful treat down at the beach. They have a cart that goes up and down the beach at OIB which is awesome, as well as the main store on Beach Drive… and now I’m told they have a stand opened up at the OIB fishing pier, excellent! There is a cornucopia of different flavors of Italian ice to choose from, and some are combos of favorite flavors(see pic). I have to say I am partial to the lemon, then the tangerine, but I like many many more. Mango is a big favorite with my crew when we are down at the beach. They offer different sizes, and if you get the largest«coozie» for $ 7, you get it refilled for only $ 3 each time you bring it back. And once you taste this treat, you’ll be back, especially if you are beating the heat out on the beach and see that cart go by! For great tasting flavors and low guilt type of chilly treats for beating the heat at OIB, nobody beats Sunset Slush that I’ve experienced.

This stuff is amazing — we had it at the pier location, then made sure to find the right cart on the beach — the others just don’t measure up!!! Try the root beer with vanilla gelati, or the piña colada with pine apple or chocolate with cherry — fantastic flavor and no fat or cholesterol. This crew seems to take pride in the product and it shows!

Perfect beach treat, served up by super nice folks. They have a cart that roams the beach and a stand out by the pier. The OMG flavor was just that, and pineapple and coconut swirled together with a scoop of mango on top= tropical vacation in a cup. Love the bright coozie cups that hold 4 scoops, but all the flavors look so good it’s hard to choose! TIP: When you’re on the beach buy ONLY from Sunset Slush(locally owned)!

Sunset Slush is awesome. They have Italian Ice in many different flavors. On my first visit, they recommended lemon lime and mango. Wow, it was great. A cool and refreshing treat.
