This place was pretty cool. It had a lot of old candies that you can’t normally find at a candy store in the mall. I grabbed some dark chocolate gummy bears, white and pink grapefruit gummies, baby gummy bears, and a pack of cigarette gum for my sister’s boyfriend. This place also sold fudge but I didn’t buy any because I’m not a fudge lover in general. Oh and I also grabbed some Now and Laters. Mmm.

Great selection!!! Staff was helpful. And for a tourist town they were fairly priced!!! Thank you! The fudge was great, the taffy was tasty, and my kids loved the chocolate rocks.

We were just there with our little girl. We picked out our items to purchase and we’re looking for something else. We decided to snap a photo of our little girl with her chosen candy and apparently they didn’t like it because in the middle of asking her to cheese they interrupted and said, «did you guys want anything else?» So abruptly and rudely. Made me not want to buy anything at that point. So disappointed. Come here frequently to visit family but will never go back there! We were the only ones in the store too! Like, why did we have to move on and out so fast?!

First time in there today, and my inner child was SO happy with all the amazing candy! The taffy is so yummy! I also bought fudge, espresso beans and some great retro candy! Pop rocks and Razzles!!! The people working were SO nice and helpful! I will definitely come back the next time I’m down at the beach!!!

What a selection!!!
Buddy & Howie’s Old Fashioned Sweet Shoppe offers all kinds of candy and sweets. The selection is amazing. Unlike some tourist trap candy stores, the prices there aren’t too far out of line either.
That selection appeals to both kids and adults too. Hard candies, sour candies, chocolate covered treats, and more.
My son and daughter both loved this stop, and seriously… so did I.

Buddy and Howie’s is a fixture in Ocean Shores with all sorts of candy, fudge and chocolates. I enjoyed the service (1.5 stars), and the selection (1.5 stars). I did not like the truffles as they were stale (–1 star). In fact, they were so stale, I could not even discern the flavors. I had to spit one out and trash the rest. That was $ 15 down the garbage (4 @ $ 3.75 ea). Also, there is no nutritional information or information of the makers of the confections (–1 star). For truffles I will stick with Blisswunders in Olympia who always has fresh truffles with unique flavors and ingredients posted. Not sure if I will be venturing into Buddy and Howie’s anytime soon knowing that their products are not always fresh. Stale chocolate truffles?! YECK! $ 15 down the garbage?! No so sweet to me!

Amazing little candy store. I love mom & pop specialty stores like this. The lady behind the counter was very welcoming and engaging. This is the place to go for specific types of classic candies.

Best salt water taffy… ever. Seriously. Before this place, I never got why anyone liked the stuff. The candy here though — just… wow. It was soft, fresh, and the flavors were amazing. We shared some with our friends, and they were kind of like, «yeah, thanks…» but then tasted it, and first it was, «oh my god!» and then it was, «THIS is why people like this stuff!» Uh huh. After that, we had some taffy shipped to them from a very fancy-​pants place on the New Jersey shore, and they said it was good, but not as good as the candy we’d gotten here. If you want to try what salt water taffy is supposed to taste like, get it here.

For over 5 years, I don’t go to Ocean Shores without making a regular stop at Buddy & Howie’s. The owners are the BEST. They truly love their products and their customers. They will offer suggestions if there’s something special you’re looking for. Definitely the freshest taffy and lots of selection. If you love fudge, this is the place to go. My favorite is Rocky Road but every flavor is good. I usually always get Hawaiian Turtles or Double Dipped Peanuts. It’s ALLL GOOD!

Best candy shop in Ocean shores. They have everything, chick o sticks, tootsie rolls, fudge, gummies, taffy. you name it. The people working, probably the owners, are super friendly and will let you try a slice of fudge. Shop is clean and everything is fresh.

Totally rockin’ candy store! Squirrel Nut Zippers? Zagnut? Chocolate Covered Corn Nuts? Yes, yes and more yes! Candy Legos, and Pez — oh yeah, it just keeps getting better and better! But, as a diabetic the sugar-​free selection is the very best. The wonderful staff were super friendly and amazingly great at movie trivia. Everything in the store is neat, clean and organized with an outstanding selection. Slightly away from the beach, the little center where Buddy & Howie’s is located is perfect and just a short walk from the water. Once again, another place to visit when you are at Ocean Shores.

Super fun candy store!!!
A pound of candy will run you up $ 6.50, but they have a lovely selection that’s all super fresh. I’ve always been a sucker for gummies when I go into a candy store, so you can only imagine my excitement when they’re fully stocked with: RATTLESNAKE GUMMIES, BLUE SHARK GUMMIES, COLA GUMMIES, CHOCOLATE/​WHITE CHOCOLATE COVERED GUMMY BEARS, GRAPEFRUIT AND PEACHIES. I also threw in some of those colorful mint things to go with. The employees are all super friendly and wait on you like champs. Because God only knows how indecisive I am. Thankfully, our girl helped us out tons and did an awesome job at putting just the right amount of candy in it’s own bag.
Don’t think the entire place is made of gummies though. They have chocolate and taffy as well. Sugar high here I come…

Love this place! They have a great selection of candy and the fun part is you pick up a little basket and fill up with any of the many taffy varieties they have. The fudge is delectable and I can’t wait to go back and pick up some more goodies before we head back home. The counter staff are really nice and seem pretty content to work there. It was a happy experience. Buddy and Howie’s is the BEST!!!

I visited here last summer and forgot to write a review! If you visit Ocean Shores, you need to stop here! I saw a sign when we were entering town and looked it up on my phone. Based on the reviews, we went in and are so glad. My husband and I actually made two stops here in one day (we were so swept away by the tasty treats, we wanted to bring some home). The taffy is fabulous. Not sure if they make it themselves, but regardless it was absolutely delicious (waaaaay better than what you can get at some of those touristy shops in the shopping area near Subway). We had some of the homemade fudge (maple walnut) and just about died over how amazing it was. The next time we visit the ocean, we are without a doubt stopping here again!

Always the highlight of our beach outings! Fantastic service and an amazing selection. You will not/​cannot leave empty-​handed. And if you LOOOOVE black licorice as much as I do??? It’s pure heaven! And the new red licorice gummy bears? HELLO!!!

Good candy for kids and adults.
