Haven’t been here in a while but their burritos have had a growth spurt. I think there was ½ a chicken in my burrito. My husband couldn’t finish his california burrito and he was beyond hungry. Great place. Keep it up!

When we were stationed at MCB Camp Pendleton we always made a stop at Colima’s for our breakfast burritos, rolled tacos, carne asada fries, tamales & enchiladas. Big portions and yummy food! Since we no longer live in Oceanside any time we’re in San Diego we have to make a stop at Colima’s since we miss the food so much. We haven’t found a spot in Vegas that reminds us of Colima’s. Bring one to Vegas!

Huge, delicious, juicy, carne asada burrito! It’s wasn’t an original order but it definitely hit the spot and filled me up! This place is a staple and a must try. Somehow Mexican food gets better the closer you get to the border ;) The burrito is around $ 7 and will surely fill you up. Pretty much all meat rolled in a delicious flour tortilla. I just wish they had more options for salsa… they only had hot sauce. The marinated carrots were pretty good and complimentary, so that’s great. Will def. be back!

Worst place ever. Burritos and tortas were horrendous, bland, basically flavorless. I had 6 people in my party and everyone hated their food. We still left a tip and treated everyone very pleasantly but unfortunately will never return. Thanks for reading.

First time in San Diego and I was well informed that San Diego has the best Mexican food. They were not wrong! This restaurant is authentic with great portions. I had the carne asada tacos which were amazing. The prices are extremely reasonable too! I highly recommend.

Cheap, fast delicious. Lots of menu choices. I can’t complain about anything. They promise you a decent sized meal and deliver a huge one. I’m gonna come back again and again.

BIGASSPORTIONS. Ordered the carne asada nachos and carne asada burrito. It was more then enough for me and my girl to finish. The service was quick too. It came out literally in like 4 mins after I ordered it and picked a place to sit. IDK if thats a good thing but the food tasted delicious still. If your not from around there it might be difficult to spot. Also FIXYOURFLIESPROBLEM. There were some BIGASSFLIES I had to protect my nachos from. BOMB food nonetheless. IG:ROBEANOO

I don’t understand how these guys received a high rating like this? I guess I’m going to be «That Guy» and call out some of the things that did not impress us. I heard some great things about this little spot from the locals here, so I figured why not lets give it a go. I will be honest this looked like a spot that we would enjoy, with it being like a «mom and pop» types of establishments. That right there is a sign that this is gonna be good, unfortunately it was sub par. I or we came in looking to satisfy our hunger and we all ordered different items so everyone can get a taste of whats going on. Here is what we ordered and I’ll throw in why the 2 stars in the mix. This is what was ordered, California Burrito, Chicken tacos, Carne Asada fries, Beef and Carnita taco platter, Cheese and Bean Burrito(fried). Their salsas’ didn’t have that impact where you’d be sweating. The Red and Green versions were weak in my and our opinion, but we did order their grilled jalapeño peppers as back up. These were ok, something that gave us that extra boost we were looking for. *Star 1 * goes to the presentation. Our orders were plate fillers where the food was over flowing with an aroma that smelled inviting. 1st. California Burrito~ This was HUGE, that had a good amount of weight to it that was stuffed. One of the issues here is it lacked flavor, it didn’t have the same consistency, there was more add-on than meat. Trying to find the meat was more of a problem, and when you did find it, it was a let down. The texture was way off, it was more of a wet mess, the carne asada had a bland taste to it, almost like it wasn’t marinated properly. 2nd. Chicken Tacos~ This was simply dry, and bland where we had to drown it with their salsa to get some kind of taste. This was left on the grill too long where all that flavor had just evaporated away. 3rd. Carne Asada fries~ The fries were under cooked, with a taste of fish to it. I am pretty sure this wasn’t supposed to be like this, along with the meat lacking a good flavor this was a let down. 4th. Beef and Carnita Platter~ the beef portion of this was ok, had some kind of taste, but the carnita section wasn’t so hot. When the carnita seemed to be over cooked, also while trying to eat this it didn’t shred apart that easily. It was a little rough, a lot of chewing involved to break this down. It’s pretty bad if you have to constantly have that bottle of salsa next to with every bite you take. 5th. Cheese and Bean Burrito~ We had asked for this to be fried, but when it came out it the tortilla was still normal. After we had the situation rectified and this big boy was fried there was still no «wow» factor. It is pretty hard to mess up a cheese and bean burrito, its pretty much those two specific, well main ingredients. **Star 2** The beverages were great, even if it is a byob it made the meals we were sampling a little more easier to swallow. Their Horchata is on point I must say, that is a safe play. They do have outside seating which was is another way to go at it. I hate to give out a bad review, but maybe we caught them on a bad day… a really bad day. Everyone has had a bad day here and there, which to be fare I will give it another try.

During a recent visit to Oceanside from San Francisco, I was so excited to try some local Mexican fare, but Colima’s left me cold. I ordered the super shrimp burrito and requested salsa picante — big mistake on my part, since the entire burrito was soaked through and through. It tasted of nothing else. I can handle a lot of heat, but this detracted from the overall flavor. Also, the shrimp was not deveined, which I put out of my mind as best as I could. On the plus side, the tortilla was toasted to buttery perfection. The staff was friendly and I was able to redeem a Unilocal check in offer to get a free chicken taco for my brother. My friend ordered the fish taco plate and was fairly happy with it — even though it was battered, when he was hoping for it to be grilled. His fault for not clarifying… So my yearning for SoCal mexican food goodness was not fulfilled, and the quest will have to continue the next time I head down that way.

It is quite possible that I would not be alive without this place. I live off of the amazing tropical fruit from El Super and… well, Colima’s vegetarian burritos. :) The guys who work there are super sweet and incredibly fast. It’s so big you could carry it around, swaddle it in a blanket, and pull it off as a baby. There are no burritos like San Diego Burritos, and there are no burritos in San Diego that come close(that I have found) that are better than Colima’s.
