EAT, I cannot find a more relaxed, top quality gastropub on the island! Everything is fresh as expected, from salads to burgers, on point! Great customer service, friendly and generous portions. AND some spices are even grown on premises! Décor is great! indoor/outdoor seating, with an inviting brick patio area.

A friend and I met here on a Wednesday night, so glad to have found this cute place! Ample parking in the back, lots of tables inside and some outside in the back also. We had a smattering of a lot of dishes cause they all sounded amazing and they were! FOOD: The standout was the Philly cheesesteak eggrolls the reinvention was great, came out hot and covered in sauce. Lobster mac and cheese creamy, not too salty and def enough lobster to make it decadent, the wonton crisps were perfect on top. And the cheesecake roll dessert was the perfect ending. We also had the chicken nachos, and the honey sriracha(i think) cauliflower, both were good. This place did no wrong in our book and they didn’t even bat at eye even though we took up a table for 4 hours,(probably didn’t hurt much though as it was a weekday night). Great food and service

The wait staff can make or break an experience. I went here earlier this year and won’t return. The waitress made too many mistakes and my much anticipated burger failed to impress. When leaving a guy told us to have a great night, while there he looked like he was just hanging around the hostess while playing on his cell phone. Hope they have new management and wait staff and better burgers altho I won’t go back to find out.

It’s like walking into Narnia only better. The décor is awesome. They have seating for all moods: indoor, outdoor and an open«sun room» with plenty of shade. We sat in the latter and admired the beautifully landscaped patio. The drink list is awesome and the bartenders know what they are doing. I ordered the Southside which consists of gin, lemon juice, sugar cane and mint. I also got the chips and assorted dips. or diyps as I like to call them. The entire spread was fantastic, the guac was my favorite and the chip strips they use were crunchy and fresh. I was eyeing my friends bunless burger with envy though… next time. Friendly service, clean establishment, can’t wait to come back.

In need of a great Happy Hour and looking up on beer menus that Goose Island Sofie, a beer that my partner in crime for the evening(Steph M) tried elsewhere and really enjoyed, we decided to check out Eat Gastropub! We arrived early — Steph earlier than me who was already half way through a beautiful golden straw colored Sofie, we take up space at the bar close to the dining room. I was surprised the space is larger than I imagined. Ample parking in back. The happy hour specials were a good deal and since they have many great craft beers on tap so I decide on a half price flight. The food choices for happy hour are somewhat limited but has some good items that you probably want to drink with a good craft brew. We get an order of some outrageous Buffacue wings and although I am not a huge wing fan these were excellent versions, with plenty of sweet and spicy BBQ sauce, a crispy coating with tender chicken inside along with perfect blue cheese dipping sauce. I truly enjoyed these. I also suggest ordering a large pretzel, which was good for soaking up all that beer we were drinking. We ate this too slow and the salt absorbed moisture in the air and made our pretzel a bit wet — still tasted good though. It was a great happy hour — the place wasn’t too packed on a Tuesday so it allowed for us to have a nice leisurely conversation and to relax for a while. After reading the menu I laughed a bit about the writing under the menu«Health and nutrition are of extreme importance!» — I doubt anyone would find the majority of the items here particularly healthy, but I can attest that they pump out quality tasty food, but damn, those delicious beers tho…

Went for happy hour & sat at the bar. I had the cheesesteak spring rolls & the lobster mac & cheese & sweet potato fries. The sweet potatoes fries which were good & love the presentation. The lobster Mac & cheese were ok, not the best but good. The cheesesteak spring rolls were really good, I’d probably that’s what stood out of everything. Our bartender seems ok, she seems a bit overwhelmed, wasn’t the friendliest but did her job. I would go again

THEPHILLYCHEESESTEAKEGGROLLSTHOUGH. Happy Hour Deals: –All apps $ 5 –Beer Flight $ 5 Their craft selection is decent. They offered many local Long Island brews, which is good for local business and fosters the island camaraderie. The online menu is outdated, they didn’t have half the things there on tap. Variation wise, it seemed to lean more Stouts and Pale Ale’s. Very few IPAs; a Tripel on the menu would have been nice. I enjoyed seeing my Ballast Sculpin there, in Pineapple and Grapefruit flankers, and I got to try a very nice Goose Island Sofie(Saison) — reminded me of a soft, floral white wine. STEAKEGGROLLS –Wow. I was floored. These were AMAZING. The crunch is supreme, and it is fried to a CRISP. The cheese is perfectly melted and the steak is moist/The Buffalo Chicken ones are good too and they give you a ranch dressing to dip it in, but I preferred these Phillycheesesteak ones. PRETZEL –Be prepared for an ENORMOUS pretzel. Goes well with wheat/Belgian brews BURGER −50÷50: I was very excited to try this 50⁄50 Burger(half bacon Half beef). I did not like it. It was VERYSALTY and it had a very weird texture. This burger is a love it or hate it. –Gastropub: This is more my preference. Good beef, caramelized onions, Simple. Parlay Gastropub in Rockville Centre(right up the block — north) has tough competition. Recommended: Phillycheesesteak Eggroll, Gastropub Burger, 50⁄50 Burger

This place was a great find. For appetizer I had the egp platter which was delicious. The philly cheese steak egg rolls were very tasty, but the Mac and cheese balls were my favorite. I had the red snapper special which was very tasty. I also got to taste the 50:50 burger and I thought it was the best burger I’ve had. The pretzel bun did not fall apart, and the meat was cooked to perfection. I also had the craft beer. They had a great selection. The place itself is spacious, the bartender was very nice and attentive. I will definitely be going back pretty soon.

I wanted to try somewhere new and this was nearby. I heard they had great burgers, which I love, so I needed to try it! I ordered the gastro burger, it has caramelized onions, white cheddar cheese, and bacon served on a brioche roll. Their fries are delicious and are served with sauces special for the burger.

I liked this restaurant overall. Great atmosphere, creative food, and good beer. Almost everything that I tried was good, but nothing was amazing. Lobster tacos were good. The big pretzel was good. The cheesesteak egg rolls were very good. I had the salmon/crab burger, it needed some texture. Some crunch on the burger would have really stepped it up a notch. My wife had the lobster mac & cheese, it was just ok. It was my least favorite of everything ordered. The texture of the cheese was gritty, not smooth and creamy as I would have preferred it. Service was good, but our waitress made an error when explaining one of the entrees at our table. She said that the chicken entrée was part on the bone and the breast was off the bone. The entire thing was on the bone. On the bone is fine by me, but not by the person who ordered it. If it was explained correctly something else would have been ordered. All in all its a good place. We will most likely return.

First time at EAT Gastropub Cool décor, very modern. Attentive wait staff and timely service. The menu was typical pub fare, with custom spins on traditional meals. We ordered the pretzel tower which was pretty good and presumably home made, comes with an incredible cheese dip too! For dinner I picked the weirdest/most untraditional burger I could find. That was the EAT burger: –homemade patty –bacon jam –tomato jam –fondue cheese –crispy onions –pretzel bun Definitely a flavor party in my mouth. There was really nothing I didn’t like about the burger to be honest. Cooked right and the flavors completed each other.(They also have a killer spread of homemade aioli’s that come with the burger) Only negative I could say was that it was messy, but then again is that really all that bad?

EATGASTROPUB has been bookmarked from me for a while now and I was excited to finally get a chance to come here but idk if the hype was built up or I just wasn’t impressed. When you walk in the bar is right there. If you keep walking they have a semi-large dining area for people looking for that restaurant experience. Upon arrival I was looking for a hostess but a guy jumped up from the bar table and told us to walk to the back. We were seated and given menus to look over. I decided to try a couple of appetizers so I can get a range of items I was interested in. They are very pricey because I ordered the EGP platter and it was $ 28 and only had a pretzel, cheesesteak egg rolls and buffalo chicken egg rolls. The egg rolls were obviously cut in half so you’re really getting two each on a huge plate with cute presentation to make it seem like you’re getting a lot. Such a rip off. I also ordered the buffaque wings which are self explanatory– a mix of buffalo and barbecue sauce. These I liked. They were crisp and covered in the right amount of sauce. We also ordered the lobster Mac & that I could’ve lived without. Not enough lobster and I wasn’t a fan of the cheeses used. Waste of $ 14. Everything on the kids menu is $ 10 but I’ll say that it might be worth it. Upon ordering I was upset with the price because kids menu items are never usually priced at $ 10 but the burger came at it was very large. I shared it with my daughter and it was really good. Pretzel bun and you could tell that it was fresh and homemade and I loved that. I liked the fries too because they were crispy but not too crunchy and fresh as well. The service was subpar. The waitress was a nice girl but I was seated next to a table where the waitresses kept coming to to hang out or eat their lunch and I didn’t like the fact that all I could hear while trying to enjoy my meal was them talking so loudly. They didn’t seem to be paying attention to their tables and I just am not a fan of that. I’m iffy about returning. I had an ok experience. I might come back to try other items on the menu but then again I might not. It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t what I was expecting either. Damn me for having high expectations!

EAT is a force to be reckoned with. This was my second visit and I’m much happier with this visit than I was my first. Service is iffy. It just is. Both visits the service wasn’t great. Our second visit was a quiet Wednesday night and our service was lacking. The drinks are excellent. I got the same drink both visits, their take on a Moscow mule. The first visit it came in a copper mug but the second it came in a regular stemless wine glass. It was excellent both times. For our appetizers we had the chips and dip and the philly cheesesteak eggrolls. I devoured my portion of each. The eggrolls were delicious but the chips and dips were phenomenal. The edamame hummus was a standout and their fresh chips were amazing. I then had their namesake burger. The burger was excellent though a little dry. I asked for it rare but it came to me more medium. It was still delicious but I wish it was cooked to my liking. My husband was very pleased with his meal as well. Next time I’m definitely ordering more of their cool appetizers. They were just so good. I also really appreciate their approach to food and using fresh ingredients. Hard to find these days.

This has got to be one of my favorite places to eat on LI. It’s an experience in itself. Friends and I used to meet here for Netflix club(like a book club, but with Netflix movies) and sit at the bar which was great. But I’ve also had table service too. I enjoy both– because the craft beer selection paired with the food(and even the plates your stuff comes on and presentation of it!) is fantastic. The appetizers are all good– I especially love the Mac n cheese spheres. But go slow, or plan to share because the appetizers are filling! And you will want room for the burgers. Holy shit, the 50:50 burger is a thing I dream about. If you are looking for a unique & delicious eating experience I recommend coming here. even if you are just looking to have a few beers, the bar is great too and there are a lot of local beers on tap which I appreciate.

Last night we visited #5 of our 9 restaurant Newsday top 100 bucket list; EAT Gastropub. All I can say is the food is sensational, and for us the service provided by Brianna was great. We really enjoyed ourselves and that’s what it’s all about. From an ambiance standpoint, the pub is warm and nicely dividend with a bar area, an inside restaurant, a sort of a sunroom-like dining area and an outdoor seating area for the summer. Out behind the restaurant there is also a nice patio with couches and chairs in case you have to wait for a table. But there is a lot of seating for a pub which is great. We started with the Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls, which were crunchy and tangy and served in a slurry of bleu cheese sauce that was nice and tangy. The presentation was neat and the flavors were excellent. For our entrée’s my wife asked if they could re-create their Grilled Cheese Meatloaf sandwich(See picture) and they said no problem. It’s off the menu but they still serve their Meatloaf T.V. Dinner, so making the sandwich was easy. The sandwich comes with an abundance of melted cheese(white cheddar maybe?) and the meatloaf has great flavor with plenty of herbs and spices to wake up the house ground beef. The grilled Pullman bread is thick cut like Texas toast and is so crunchy it give the sandwich excellent texture. My son ordered the 50⁄50 burger(See Picture), and here is where we start to get into 5-star territory. The 50⁄50 burger has a meat patty that is 50% house ground beef(who does that?) and 50% house ground bacon(really, who DOES that?). The combination gives you a meaty flavor, but the bacon adds a slight salty-sweetness that is totally unique in a burger, One note, order it cooked medium-plus because the bacon is ground raw and you want to make sure it’s cooked all the way through. Don’t worry about the burger getting dry, the bacon also keeps juices running throughout the patty and onto your plate. Keep your napkin handy! Then they add some white cheddar cheese and these amazing fried potato sticks that add flavor and crunch to the burger. Top it off with an über-fresh toasted brioche bun and this burger is a winner! I ordered the Daily Special Burger(check out THAT picture!). Hang on for this ride! I substituted the house ground burger with the 50⁄50 burger because I HAD to try that blend. Then they added the white cheddar cheese, and then it got funky. They add homemade cheese fondue(because you can never have too much cheese), tomato jam(better than ketchup any day), bacon jam which I could eat by itself with a spoon, and crispy fried onions. Top it off with that über-fresh brioche bun and we are talking about a truly special Special Burger! My 5-star criteria is when I get something I can’t get anywhere else. That is really hard to do with a burger, but EAT Gastropub pulled it off. If you can believe it, we still decided to share a dessert and we opted for the Cookie Sunday(See picture) even though it was Saturday. If you look at the picture, this pie-sized cookie is really more like a chocolate chip pancake; warm, soft and gooey. The vanilla ice cream was also soft so it didn’t mangle the cookie, but instead sort of melted into it. Add sprinkles, white chocolate shavings and whipped cream and you have a dessert that was plenty enough for three people. EAT Gastropub is great and was well worth our 30-minute drive to get there. One suggestion: As the reputation increases more people are going to be visiting, and the signage is very hard to see from the street. They might want to consider something a little more visible. But otherwise, EAT is a great place to eat, and we will certainly look for opportunities to return.

I haven’t been to EAT in a while and today I had come back for brunch with friends. This was my first brunch experience here and to be honest, for the price I thought it would have been remarkable. Nothing on the menu is worth the $ 18 that they charge per plate, n o t h i n g. Also, the home fries/fruit/pastries they say are included are for the table — which had thrown me off. Keep this in mind! The service was terrible. Each plate was brought out within minutes from each other which had many people in our party waiting while others were«enjoying» their meals. It seemed very chaotic and that the staff has completely lost sight of what is going on. The one complaint I don’t have is that the drinks were great — which is very consistent here. All in all, I had expected better from EAT as I know it was great in the past. I guess the new changes they are trying to make are getting in the way of their performance and distributing a good product. Perhaps temporarily close the restaurant and figure things out rather than providing a poor experience and losing customers.

This place was amazing. Our waitress was really nice too. I went here with a group and it’s pretty close to where I live. We were all starving and we ordered so much food, mostly anything that had mac n cheese. First thing we had was a lobster mac n cheese, philly cheesesteak egg rolls, and mac n cheese fried balls. WOW everything was delicious! Then we all ordered burgers, but I had the mac n cheese burger(see I told you guys we ordered all mac n cheese)! I don’t remember which drink I had(I think it was lemonade or something similar,), but it was pretty good not as strong as I would have wanted but it was refreshing! We had absolutely no room for dessert definitely coming back soon!

Where to begin. Why can’t I find this place by just typing ‘eat’? The gastropub needs to be on the search in order for my little Unilocal app to find it. Other than that… This place was interesting. Came with the crowd that eats a bit late. I thought for a Friday night it would have been a bit busier but it was what it was . The menu is broken up into a bunch of different sections from small bites to burgers. Salads… Mac and cheese. Etc. I asked the waitress what were her recommendations and she rattled off the daily specials and said the philly egg rolls. And Mac and cheese balls were especially good. However choosing not to opt in her choices I went with the duck mini tacos since I just try and dare to be different. Prepared In a timely manner they are quite mini! So mini they are a one bite wonder. 85% duck 10% pear? 5% sauce. All in all not bad but a little underwhelming. Would of been better if it came with a little serving of a slaw or just something to add on. For one of my first restaurant meals on Long Island it’s pretty much priced like Manhattan. I guess my view can’t be totally swayed since I didn’t even try one of their fifty fifty burgers even though it sounds like something that might give me a heart attack. 50% ground bacon and 50% ground sirloin. Take a moment to mull that over … Good but not overly impressed.
