Recently discovered this place. Seems pretty clean. They have some promotions: buy one item at a regular price and a hotdog for 5 cents(on Thursday afternoons only).

Tried the new location on Friday night before the blizzard. Although the place was new, nothing spectacular to talk about. The girl Joseline who was taking our order may have been new. Wrong amount of soda cups, had to delete an item for us and by mistake deleted the whole order. When we got all the food, we decided the best thing would be to check the order and glad we did, the lobster roll was not there. It turns out, she never entered it on the order. She was not really friendly and didn’t smile. If we put this place into the category of any fast food joint, then I guess this is acceptable by customers and management so who am I to complain. If I want better service, go to a better place. After all, this is Long Island!

Nothing fancy here. Nothing healthy either, but that is why you came here. This is a new location for Nathan’s and I think it will be a good fit. The building is smaller than the over-sized locale that was down the road, but there is still plenty of parking out back. Everything was delicious as it has always been. Fries are still the best.

The best dogs anywhere. Nothin’ fancy. Don’t hold your pinky up while eating here. Don’t go if you want a salad. Dogs and fries and drink. Burgers and other stuff not as good.

No corn on the cob. No onion rings. No game room. Super cheeseburger was COLD on a less than fresh roll. Hot dogs were just ok. French fries undercooked. More managers/supervisors than staff — standing around BS-ing. Why not ask the handful of customers how their experience was? Better way to spend your time. This place is just a pale copy of what Nathan’s use to be.

The fries were good but the customer service was horrible. You would think we came to the servers house and asked for free fries. We waited for several minutes and then had to ask the woman in the adjoining business to get her. The server wasn’t friendly, or helpful. I asked for a fork and she told me to go next door. Really!!! She is lucky I had not had Nathan’s in forever or I wouldn’t have bothered.

It was weird seeing Nathan’s in a new location, but the food was great. I always try to get my hot dog fix when back on NY. They didn’t let me down!

Nathan’s reopened and it is newer and looks better then ever. A much smaller location than the previous location that looked run down and was definitely showing its age. The new location is full of tv’s on the wall, condiment statations, bright lighting, fun nostalgic images on the walls and food that is brought to the tables after you order promptly. Not too bad for a new take on the Nathan’s franchise that everyone grew up with in Oceanside. Gone is the game room that the kids used to love but lets face it that too was showing its age and the kids still had a blast eating there without the gameroom to distract them. The free wifi and various seating choices was enough to keep the family amused as we chatted and ate our food there. The biggest downside is the prices. One thing that didn’t change, in fact got worse, is the prices. You won’t get a good deal or bargain eating here that’s for sure. For some reason a hot dog place still fancies itself as high price eating when its just a fast food place and not much more. But the food is still the great tasting hot dogs, fries, burgers, corn dogs etc that you remember and has that same classic Nathan’s taste you expect from the place. If you don’t mind paying a bit more for the same or less then you will love coming here again and again. Things change and this place is an example of that. Its the same but different. You can’t go back again but at least you can still go to Nathan’s locally and enjoy the same food and offerings that you have come to expect from the franchise. Sure I miss the old place and what it was like but this replacement is a welcome addition that I will be visiting often with the family. Not as often as I would like though as its a bit expensive but that’s really the only downside. That and the weird fact that they show only one particular cable news station(Fox News) on all the TV’s whether you like that station or not its the only game in town when you eat there. Glad to have you back Nathan’s. Different yet the same at the same time. Any fan of the old place and if you are looking for a fun place to take the kids, you won’t go wrong here. Its simple and fun food that people of all ages will find something to enjoy here. Great atmosphere and ample parking in the back lot behind the place.

I love these hot dogs. At least 5 lbs of my adult, overweight body is formed by the delicious all-beef fats and nitrates of Nathans. This establishment is deeply embedded in my upbringing(my father worked here as a teenager as did my uncles on both sides of the family). I remember motorcycle night, classic car night and going to the arcade. However, nostalgia is tough to swallow when you enter adult-hood in the 21st century. If you like hot dogs, the food is great. Easily, my favorite hot dog in the world is served at Nathans. While certain Nathans are better than others(I found the Oceanside location to be my favorite, followed by Westbury and Coney Island), I have always been impressed with their consistent quality across the their expansion. I sometimes fret about grabbing food at rest stops on the highway, but I know that the Nathans hot dog will have a familiar snap and spice. The key is the casing and you cannot get that with the skinless franks you see in the store. Also, the fries are out of this world. Even the non hot-dog items, such as the cheeseburger, are hefty and taste solid. However, the location in Oceanside has changed and the prices are now astronomical. Franks push $ 4 without coupons(which at one point had a ubiquitous presence on the Internet) and I learned the combo meals no longer include the cost of a beverage(what??). Additionally, the new location includes table service, which just seems unnecessary and inefficient. The memories of the Nathans of old are still strong, but with the move it is most certainly relegated to memories. Still, one can find a discrete moment of joy in ordering two hot dogs. One with sauerkraut and golden brown mustard. The other, marinated onions and mustard. Sit back. Close your eyes. Recall 1995, 1985, 1975 or 1965 and you will find a smile approach your face and the $ 8 you spent will feel like the cost of a ticket back to a time machine that comes with a free meal.

First time here yesterday. Clean, nice place. Great customer service, friendly, fast. Like the added touch of the food being bought over to you. I would go again. Hot dogs were awesome, fries too. My only complaint were the hot dog nuggets. Overcooked but I can overlook that since everything else was great.

The old location was way too big. I like the new location, still good. I love the condiments bar and the design inside. They bring the food to you after you order it, a cute little new thing. Hotdogs were awesome, onion rings were a tad small but its okay. Two hotdogs and onion rings were only 10 $. Recommend!!!

I can’t imagine I would have had to write a review like this… Let me say I was a faithful follower of Nathans at the old location since the 1980s. I loved going there. brought my daughters there. And even continued to go there after my stepdaughter got violently ill from greasy corn-dogs that were sitting in a display for way too long. But after some delay I finally went to the new location. What a horrible experience. 1. At the old place, if you came in with a coupon(like a 2 for 1 hot dog) you could order the combo and they’d make the adjustment so you got a free dog. Now all you get is «sorry you have to buy every item separately» with an attitude. So the«free» hot dog coupon(should save me $ 3.75) only saves you about $ 1 after they mark everything else up 2. Ordered my hot dogs well done. Asked again after getting my receipt if they’d be well done and was reassured. They weren’t 3. Buns were borderline stale. First one fell apart on my first bite. Not good. 4. Condiments are a joke. Clumpy ends of sauerkraut and almost no sauteed onions in a sea of liquid. The ketchup and mustard came out in large clumps. It was also Helman’s mustard and not Nathan’s branded. WTF? 5. New facility… same old lame choice of soft drinks. Everyone has the new infinite flavor machines. Get with the times. 6. Lost all of its ambiance. Sadly what was once one of my favorite lunches has been lost. After 23 years of going to the Oceanside location, and being an Oceanside resident, I’m afraid to report you’ve lost a customer.

Thought I would miss the old location but that memory quickly faded as soon as I walked in and saw how spotless the new location was. The addition of the table delivery service is terrific and reminds me of Carl’s Junior in LA. The food seems much better and there is more care taken in its preparation and assembly. All the employees are super friendly and the place just looks very well managed. Have been there 3 times and there was always someone maintaining the appearance and restocking of the condiments counter. The Sauerkraut & Onions appeared freshly prepared and were sitting in very little liquid — a hot dog bun killer! This counter can get crowded during peak times until you realize there is also mustard, ketchup and napkins on every table. A second drink dispensing machine would also be helpful. By my third visit one of the staff recognized me and made sure they came over & said Hi — nice touch for a fast food place. There is plenty of parking out back and on the side by the frozen Custard stand.

I like this new location very much I did leave a star off obviously for the deduction of the arcade room! I guess because the joint is smaller than the previous there was no room for it also parking is inconvenient unless you are lucky enough to get a spot on the street, I also miss the car shows every Wednesday but I think they did away with that a while ago, I didn’t find the prices are much higher than the previous location like other reviewers said maybe I wasn’t paying attention, that being said the inside and the outside still scream Nathan’s!and I like the hightop tables, now for the food when you have a craving for a hotdog this is the place to go to on Long Island, so damn good w that lil crunch, I like the kids meals for my children and that old-fashioned lemonade always hits the spot! Tasty and sweet but not too tart, I really like the flat screens that they installed they are just a little too high, Now my favorite NEW feature is the tableservice although you still have to order it, it is extremely convenient when they drop off ure food order with your given number, espec when you have kids! On top of that everybody is super friendly! Just wish the employees would stop eating at the tables with the customers watching Tv, maybe I’m alone in this but it just looks a little unprofessional, I think they should have their own room behind closed doors, regardless i look forward to going back very soon!

The new location is much smaller than the older one, gone are the arcade games. The food is OK, pricey, though-there were 6 of us, we ordered two combos that had two dogs each, the cheeseburger combo, chicken sandwich and two extra drinks, the total was 44 bucks, a bit of an ouch, but kids enjoyed it, they wanted to go to Nathan’s for a while and were waiting for the new location to open when the old one closed down.

Its Nathans! Its sad to see the new location remove the entire Nathans, Coney Island vibe it once had. Now its just a fast food spot… no arcade! That being said, still the best hot dogs and fries around. Hot Dog nuggets, every time, gotta get them. Good selection of Chicken sandwiches or fish platters by Arthur Treachers.

I’m glad Nathan’s didn’t throw in the towel in their Oceanside location when they lost their lease. They moved to a more efficient space and I’m assuming the rent is higher as well. They still have nice murals on the walls of old Coney Island as well as TV’s. I came for lunch around 2pm and found the place to be very busy. Happy to see that. The staff to delivers your food when it’s done. The food is very good a bit more expensive then past, but I would guess the overhead is higher as well. Real Estate tax would be my educated guess, being a Long Islander. I gave 5 stars because I felt the other reviews were too low, otherwise I would have given it 4 stars. I also didn’t find parking to be a problem. I parked right on Long Beach Rd. And their is also a parking lot in the back. Just need to walk a few feet.

The food was better than the old Nathan’s. The place was packed cause it just opened and not enough seating. The prices are ridiculous!

This is the new location for Narhan’s, they used to be about a ¼ mile south of here. The original location, I’ve heard was the second oldest after the original in Coney Island. It’s still Nathan’s hot dogs, and they’re still delicious, but this location has none of the old timey, comfortable and historic ambiance of the old location. And there’s no more game room for the kiddies to play in anymore. It’s so much more expensive than it was just last year at the old location. I guess time moves on and everything changes, but sometimes one has to wonder if it’s really for the best.
