Papa John’s Pizza

I have had pizza from a few different Papa John’s and they were just ok. This location has been the best so far. The brookie was awesome.

I ordered a large pizza for delivery. I got the conformation via email that stated the delivery time would be 30 – 40 mins. After waiting an hour, I called the store and was told it was on the way. When the pizza finally arrived, it was not even half as good as I expected. We usually order from Dominos and expected so much more from Papa Johns but the pizza was bland and cold.

I’m a big fan of Papa John’s but this last visit didn’t seem to strike a cord. We were craving some pizza, and what better yet than to pick up a pie and watch the football game? Since we were in the area, we chose to pick it up. We ordered online and asked for pick up an hour ahead. I love this option because it gives you some freedom on when you want to eat. However, we showed up 15 minutes early, and to our surprise our pizza was already done. What if we showed up on time? Who knows how long our pizza would have sat for.
They had a special on mediums, so we ordered 2 for $ 14. The sausage/​pepperoni combo (always a classic) was good… the slices were smaller so I didn’t feel like I was overeating when I reached for seconds. Our second pizza was a pineapple/​jalapeño combo — trust me on this the combination is delicious. The jalapeño’s were SPICY but the pineapple balanced it out.
Here’s my problem. The pizza wasn’t piping hot. In fact, it wasn’t hot at all. It was warm, and I’m not really a fan of ordering just «warm» pizza when I’m craving it.
3 stars for easy ordering, yummy combinations, and the fact that past experiences have been good. This time was just decent.

Five stars based on delivery alone! Delivered straight to the pool of the condo in which we were staying. This was without any instructions on the delivery order telling where to deliver. Driver said: «I just assumed it was a Friday night, where else would anyone be?» Wow!

Tonight I received the worst service, they messed up my order when I told the delivery driver he just gave me a blank stare and said he couldn’t do anything. I called the store they told me they would have someone out to exchange things asap. An hour later I call the location again to see what was going on, I was told the delivery driver had left and should be there shortly. Here it is an hour later and no one has come.

Called to order a delivery and waited but no one came so I called and asked and thy said they never placed the order. So now I’m going to McDonald’s because I’m starving :)

Today is a crazy day to order pizza in the first place (Super Bowl) it was a last minute decision to order pizza so we ordered through online at 2:30. We arrived at 2:50, Super Bowl starts 330. This place was filled with boxes, thinking our pizza wouldn’t be ready. But it was hot, fresh, ready to go by the time we picked it up. Made it back home just in time. Friendly staff as well.

Pizza is edible, but not very flavorful. Crust is ever so bland and blah. Purchased and ordered two garlic dipping sauces and was only delivered one. «Just add it to your next order» yes. I’ll add it to the next time I order from you. I think I’ll go back to Little Caesars. Cheaper and more flavorful pepperoni.

I made an order online. It said it would take 30 – 40 minutes. It took an hour and it was COLD. Never ordering from here again!

I’m picky when it comes to pizza and this one is good 5 start worthy for being a chain type pizza I definitely will keep ordering from here!!!

Papa Johns is definitely my favorite chain pizza but why won’t this location deliver to Carlsbad! It’s only 3 miles south and they will not deliver to my house — it’s so disappointing. Either way, I come and pick up the pizza but the whole point of chain pizza like this is the convenience of the delivery but they set up a silly boundary and I’m not a fan of that.
Order online and you can rack up points to go towards a free pizza! I also like how easy it is to customize your order and they’re ready for pick-​up almost instantly. The pizza is always exactly right but the garlic bread sticks come sitting a pool of oil (kinda gross, but secretly tasty).

The pizza was good the cookies were great not a bad price but the delivery guy didn’t have cheese and peppers

I am not a fan of factory pizza but ‘the works’ was tasty and the garden salad beyond expectations. Delivery to our picnic table was much faster than anticipated. Good job !

Called couple of days ago… had to wait until day of to pay for the order, tried calling to pay for the order, was on hold for almost 15 minutes… went to Domino’s instead

So I pre ordered pizza to be ready to pick up shortly after they opened for a pizza party at the high school. I needed pizzas early since kids lunch time is short and starts at 1125. I got to restaurant and they had no record of my order. Really. Asked me to check which location I called and also asked to see my phone log. And when all pointed to their restaurant they started on my pizzas and the manager took care of it. I hope to make it to the school in time for kids and I hope the ice cream doesn’t melt. I have to say that I use this location a lot an this was the first time they let me down. I was glad to see management take care of issue rather then blowing me off.

We Love Pizza and we always are trying different places to check them out. We recently tried Papa John’s Pizza on Oceanside Blvd. I must say the pizza was quite great. They are always having special deals which makes it very affordable. If you are not happy with the place where you are currently buying your pizza, give Papa John’s a try. The staff is friendly and they are quick and efficient!

I use to work for one of the other pizza chains and I have seen why they can sell you a large pizza for under ten bucks. These guys use fresh ingredients and they toss their own dough. Order one of the specials and enjoy a BETTER Pizza.

Papa John’s is nothing but an overpriced version of Domino’s Pizza. You get the same pizza at Papa John’s as you do at Domino’s except it generally costs twice the price. The pizza is not that great and as I have said already, grossly overpriced for the quality.
Their one redeeming factor is their cheese bread sticks and garlic butter dipping sauce which is why they get the 2 stars instead of 1. However, since pizza is their business and theirs is overpriced and poor quality… it gets two. Also the one time I did try and have the bread sticks delivered to my house, they said I was out of their area, even though Domino’s pizza located a block a way delivers to my house.
