Ralphs Grocery Store

The most ghetto, behind the times grocery store within miles. No self checkout, no meat or seafood counter, chronically understaffed.

Two stars because it’s a decent grocery store. Two stars because I had to ask for someone to open the liquor cabinet twice and no one helped me until I went and found the manager myself.

Its just a supermarket and a typical Ralphs. Just like I like — not pretending to be a coffee shop or financial hub or whatever. Little smaller than a lot of Ralphs. Parking easy and I was in and out quickly and found everything that I needed to. Check out was prompt, polite and efficient. Store was fairly quiet at 10am on a Saturday morning.
When you drive here make sure you stay to left lane before crossing College or you may not have enough road to turn in at second light without some friendly waving fingers from those already in that lane.
When I make a trip to buy stuff it needs to be unexciting, predictable and without standing behind someone who has 50 coupons half of which are out of date and has no idea where their checkbook is when it comes time to pay.
I gave this a 4 as 4 seems to count as ok on Unilocal.For me to give it a 5 and go into a long soliloquy, a store would have to give free back rubs, freshest produce and meats, the cheapest prices in town and with Nordstrom’s like service. For now the right type of unexciting will have be a 4.
Prices — like most Ralphs vary depending on item and are market prices with some bargains. These I look for as I’m a bottom feeder. They had a really good deal this week on 12 bottles of wine 30% off and another 10% for Christmas.
This time I was searching for stocking fillers –English lemon curd, shortbread etc so it took a hunt as they were distributed around store but they had most of them.
I alternate between this Ralphs and Vons depending on deals and what I’m buying (dry goods) but mostly use Sprouts and Vista farmers marker for fresh stuff. Costco has been our prime shopping venue. Now we are reexamining that because they are not cheaper than other stores on sale (sodas, milk, eggs etc,) and we have run out of space to store excesses.
As a side comment I am amazed how the prices in all stores (not necessarily loss leaders) have climbed in the last two years and how big the variation between stores. Beer bread and paper goods are good examples. Traffic is getting so bad here I am also rediscovering the corner market and paying a bit more if fits essential.

Great store. My favorite store. I moved about 4 miles away, but still come here as much as possible. I have been going here ever since they opened 15 – 20 years ago. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Good prices. Love the Ralphs Rewards card. My only suggestion would be to improve the fresh vegetable section –not always fresh.

Great staff here. This is our local grocery store, they always have what we need t fair prices. What sets it apart for us is the customer service. Eric Rosales, one of the managers here is excellent. Helpful and opens lanes when service levels are above normal. Clean store and well stocked.

I’ve been to this location only a handful of times. I am giving it a 5 star rating because of my last visit. I came here only to purchase a bouquet of flowers for a birthday person. When I first entered the store no one was a available at the floral booth to help me dress up the bouquet I wanted to buy. So when I took my flowers to the register to pay, I asked if someone could help me in floral. So the gal, said that would be the manager. The manager came right up to me and said she would be glad to help me. She waited at my side until my transaction was finished. As we both walked to the floral area, she asked me what I was looking to do with the bouquet. She was very patient, giving suggestions, and even engaged in conversation. She was very personable. Thank you Elena for the excellent customer service! By the way, the bouquet came out just the way I requested.

Love the staff here. Good prices. I come here cause it’s close and the staff is so nice. Produce is good. Good deals on liquor. Great parking lot. Safe neighborhood. Will be back.
