Great place to buy meat! This is a family owned market, not a giant mega market. We’ve been told the meat they sell comes from the same place Tip Top Meats in Carlsbad buys their meat. I believe it’s all choice or better? We’ve been very happy with everything we’ve purchased at Red and White. I love to see the little local markets still making their way in today’s big business takes over the little guy world. It’s really handy to have a store like this so close. We’re all for SUPPORTINGYOURLOCAL stores, restaurants etc…

Definitely one of the coolest small business I have been. I used to work for a local grocery store that really reminds me of the kind of customer service this place offered. I walked in with a good friend and personal trainer who lives in the area. The cashier and another employee knew him and all the other customers in the store by name. I heard conversation about family members and upcoming games for children… the kind of customer service that made me happy to spend my money here. We picked up meat and alcohol for a 10 person bbq and spent less than 100 bucks! The cashier introduced herself to me and promised to remember my name. Too bad I forgot hers already =/ Nothing modern in this place… just fresh produce, quality meats, and all of the groceries you would need. If you live in this area, spend your money here!

Came in for a couple of things a few weeks ago. Prices are average, but the selection and variety of available items are incredible. I think I remember walking out with a couple bags of chips, some sodas, and some other random stuff. I’d really like to come back sometime in the near future to see what their deli is like — maybe grab some carne or pollo and fire up the ol’ grill. Customer service here, is also pretty damn good too!

I give this place four solid stars, most of them being made up in spirit and character rather than actual service or quality. There is something strangely heart warming about walking into a gem of classic Oceanside. The produce is usually about as old as the façade but truth be told, fresh produce is not exactly the defining character of a traditional superette. This store reduces all the palacial fineness of a Super Walmart in to the more realistic backside bungalow of Red & White. Bordering on the side of mexican market that has crossed the border for a little too long, You can fine your odds and ends of produce, your meat and deli case, manned by a man. You’ll find no pre packaged meat trays in long unnecessarily expanded rows of knee high refrigerators here. It’s exchanged speed and efficiency. Don’t you know you make the store bigger to keep the cattle in longer? Missed the memo. Fair selection of spirits and meat, spirits and meat, what do we eat? Spirits and meat!!! In conclusion, whether you need spirits and meat, produce or drugs, water or tampons, condoms or trays of bbq chicken, you can find it at the superette!

the service is always great, there is a very good selection of beer! I can always find something to enjoy. The market is located in a great spot so you don’t have to leave downtown to get groceries. Also, the meat department is good esp. if you like your beef. It is much better than your average convenience store.

Not as good as a grocery store but much better than a convenience store. It’s got all the grocery items you could want/need for a higher price than you’d normally find. They even have produce, though it’s very limited. I’ve never seen more than four clams of strawberries out at one time. Quality is average, the berries are usually wet but nothing looks *bad*. They have a meat section but I haven’t so much as given it a glance. They sell beer, wine, hard alcohol, and cigarettes and have a good selection. I believe you have to spend $ 10 to use their debt machine. Great for what it is!
