Everything IS made from scratch. Great tiny local place to grab some food and go. Very polite and accommodating staff.

C&M is wonderful. Been going here since I was in Kindergarten. Love the staff, the subs are delicious. The tea cannot be beat. Highly recommend the steak and Cheese! YUM.

First timer — I had a pastrami on rye, listed as a daily special. Definitely above average and the thousand island dressing was definitely homemade. Good prices, the staff was very friendly. Also ordered the potato salad. Very good! I will definitely be coming back.

Very good food for the price. Very friendly staff. The only downfall is the cash only policy. I think this place would do much better if they weren’t cash only. Great homemade sweet tea!!!

I went to C&M with my boyfriend for a late lunch and didn’t get what I expected from the visit. I had tried to look up their menu online and found a photo of the dry erase board that’s on the right when you enter. It was misleading because when I went in today, none of the items were the same as listed and I was very disappointed since the photo I saw said ½ chicken parmesan sandwich which is what I had been wanting to order and it wasn’t listed on the regular menu. which is behind the counter with a much large selection of items to chose from. Unlike in Shaun’s review on 9÷20÷2010, I did not ask what’s good and decided to order a cheese steak. Unless you don’t mind steakums, don’t order the cheese steak. I do not mind steakums and I found the comparison to a high school cafeteria cheese steak that my boyfriend made to be accurate for the most part except C&M’s was probably more greasy. Don’t take this the wrong way – I loved high school cafeteria lunches. My boyfriend ordered the BBQ sandwich and said it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. I suppose if we were to go another round at this place we might consider other reviews first and choose something different.

Two stars. Nothing more, nothing less. I came to C&M Carry Out on a limb since I was close in the area for lunch time. The menus here specialize in sandwiches and subs. I went and ordered the whole Cheesesteak sub. Yeah, that was the wrong choice. For $ 8.43(including tax), I would expect more than a replica of a Steak-Umm from the frozen section of the supermarket. When I unwrapped the sub, I was displeased by the texture. I became even more disappointed with the taste. Definitely not worth the price I paid, and that’s unfortunate. As far as customer service goes, it seems like the lady who served me was more focused on providing drive-by service by getting me in and out of the store as quick as she could. The worst part was: the store wasn’t busy at all. I was unmistakably turned off by the lady who seemed like she was too high on her invisible horse to return a «hello» greeting upon arrival. The restaurant does not take credit cards, as previous Unilocalers have mentioned. However, there is an ATM inside. I didn’t have to use it. Do I feel that maybe this is one isolated incident? I really don’t know. Fortunately, I won’t be coming back to find out if it was or not. I think one attempted drive-by attempt at service is enough for one lifetime.

«We make everything from scratch; except the cheese steak, of course.» My brother and I tried C&M today and when he asked what was good, this was part of the response he got. «Yeah, okay, they make some of their own potato salad or soups from scratch,» I thought. But when I took my first bite of chef’s salad, I knew that this wasn’t HIdden Valley Ranch. Sure enough, when I followed up with Ellie and Effie, the two ladies behind the counter, they even make their dressings from scratch. «The polish dogs and Italian sausages?» I asked. Yep. «The crab cakes?» Yep. Everything is made from scratch and tastes like it. Ellie, the more talkative one, told me that she’s been working at C&M for 40 years and has lived in the United States for about 50 years. Originally she’s from a small island in Greece. I haven’t tried the baklava or gyro on the menu yet, but something tells me I should. Five stars for food, four stars because it’s cash-only and has very little seating. At least it has more seating than Rieve’s. The upside to the cash-only policy is that the prices are incredible. Half a cheese steak sandwich(approx. 8″) for only $ 3.95.

Big homemade sub sandwiches! That’s what comes to mind. Walk in, or phone your order in, but they are fast. They are very set up for the masses! They have a variety from a vegetarian sub to a full blown meat with everything mustard and mayo. They also carry salads(macaroni, potato, slaw.) and even have a few desserts(baklava and rice pudding). The selection of beverages and chips are just right and I enjoyed my no frills easy to order lunch! Brown bag and out the door you go! I highly recommend it if you need some fast to go sandwiches. They also have a few tables inside for eating there.
