Best breakfast option around. Limited lunch choices but everything I’ve tried is good

I had seen reviews for this place for a while and thought it was time to check it out. It’s a small place, so be flexible. You might not be able to eat inside. The staff is very welcoming, and answered all of my questions. I’ve tried all of their donuts, and they are all really good. Since they are made to order, they come out nice and warm! The maple bacon and the French toast are probably my favorite ones. They are smaller than donuts from Dunkin or Krispy Kreme, but well worth it!

My first dabble into the speciality doughnut world here in Maryland. Not disappointed at all! Cake donut was light, crisp, very flavorful. The glazes were just right — not drowned. Maple with bacon, honey glaze and the reeces peanut butter glaze. all outstanding. Really nice people there too… love to see a small business take so much pride in what they do!

New to the area check but a local must try! Brown box eatery are hands down the best donut in the area. They are hot, fresh, and the best flavors. Try the special flavors, try coconut, try them all. From breakfast to lunch, the food is great and the customer service is amazing! Check this place out and tell your friends!

Best donuts in town. Prepared for you after you order them so they’re warm and fresh. They almost melt in your mouth. Would love to try lunch one day but can’t get away from the donuts! Staff is very friendly as well making it an awesome experience from start to finish.

We’ve eaten here many times and taken donuts away many times. Local, family owned and good food. Everything is pretty much made to order. So they aren’t super fast. But it’s good, hearty and reasonably priced food. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. And it better not be a late lunch as they close at 2. But worth the stop in. The menu is not deep. But i don’t really care because what they do do, they do well. Plus I’ve seen them custom make something not on the menu for the customer that asks. I enjoyed the BLT and the omelettes. The maple bacon donut is pretty amazing. I personally think that they are a much better then the fractured prune and the upside is they are a local small business. I love that.

Outstanding! Watch out Fractured Prune! The donuts are to die for… And the breakfast sandwiches are a hit too! Love this little place.

While the New Year is just a few days away with the accompanying resolutions going into effect; if you are going to have one last guilty hurrah or driving through Maryland to get to New York City to see the ball drop, go and stop by this place(beware they close at 2PM). This place makes some great donuts and you can’t go wrong with any of their choices. Had these donuts a couple of times now and shared them with friends and family and I haven’t heard of any bad reviews. While the bacon version was the most enjoyed, all the other varieties still got great praises due to the freshness of the donuts. Although at $ 12/dozen it isn’t the cheapest versus say other big name competitors like DD, it’s worth it. You get what you pay for in the taste and the different variety. Donuts though aren’t as large in size as I would have hoped, but it will leave smiles everywhere. Haven’t tried their other hot breakfast menu items, but will give them a shot next time I stop by. Place is open at 6, but the area around isn’t well lighted, so as long you use the 7 – 11 across the street as a landmark, you should be able to find it.

Brown Box is very friendly, but we were a little disappointed in the flavor. The maple bacon donuts didn’t really taste like maple and while there was plenty of bacon on top, it didn’t really taste like anything at all. The glaze on the oreo ones made them taste oddly minty, but they were okay otherwise. The donuts don’t seem to have as much rise as Fractured Prune, so they were a little more oily.(We do have a tendency to grade desserts critically, as sugar isn’t as common a dietary occurrence anymore.) We got breakfast sandwiches, too, and for the price we think there could’ve been a little more meat included. Good service and coffee, and happy to see a local business doing well, we’ll definitely give them another try and check out some of the other food options.

This place is awesome sauce! I felt like taking a roadtrip this past Sunday, and I decided to stop by The Brown Box Eatery. I ordered«The Scramble» and the«Three Egg Omelette.» I also picked up a half dozen donuts — Strawberry shortcake, Cinnamon sugar, Oreo cookie, French toast, Blueberry, and Pumpkin. The blueberry was my favorite! I also ordered the drip coffee, which was delicious. I can’t say enough good things about this local gem. I need to try their Maple bacon donut next! :-)

See, what had happened was! A few months back I chose to take the kids to Ritas out in Odenton, instead of Laurel where we usually go. While I was standing in line on the outside of this location not being impressed, and realizing the mistake I had made, because there was no place for my 2 year old to eat her dessert, but in the back seat of my car. I looked over to my left *Tweet voice*, some of you will get that joke, and for others i’ll post the link at the end of my review. Anyways I looked over and saw what looking to be a small café. I pointed it out to my lady who was there with me at the time, and we both stood there intrigued by what we were looking at. unfortunately we would soon discover through Unilocal that it hadn’t opened yet. Some time goes by(Maybe a month or so), and we get to talking about it again. To which she tells me that one of our friends in the area has been, and she said that it was really good. Her exact words were«They do breakfast, sandwiches, and the donuts are better the fractured prunes». A few weeks later we finally wake up early enough(they lose at 2pm), and we head out to see what this place was all about. So we get there and I give the stink eye to ritas as I walk past it, and into The Brown Box Eatery for the first time. I already knew a maple bacon donut(which ended up being fantastic) was in my near future, and so I looked over then menu to see what I wanted to try first. I ended up getting the turkey sandwich which was described as: Hand Carved turkey with bacon and Havarti Cheese, lettuce, tomato, topped with honey mustard. Which was really good, and she I believe got an omelet. Either way we were both really impressed with the food, and service. Cant wait to come back and try more of the menu, and hopefully get my hands on another maple bacon donut. oh yeah!

Very Nice place!!! All the reviews I read before was spot on! That Maple Bacon Donut was the bomb! My friend and I both got the Chicken Salad! The lettuce was so fresh and service was very fast too! And place was so clean! I used the Ladies room and it was spotless and no weird smells either! Just a fresh clean smell no cover-ups there! I hate when I use a Resturant bathroom and the air fresher makes you sick! Lol! Anyway very nice employees and one really nice employee took a video for us that we needed to send to some other friends and they were getting ready to close but they didn’t even rush us! We got there 11:30 and did not leave till 2:00 long story short will be back there! All the food I saw other people eating all looked fresh and big portions! Next time I getting breakfast I heard there French Toast was really good! See ya Soon!!!

I haven’t been for lunch yet, but based on breakfast, it’s probably a winner too. Apparently they house roast all their turkey. But speaking of breakfast… Donuts — think Fractured Prune. Dip ‘em and top ‘em in a variety of flavors. The French Toast is a family fave, but they’re great naked too. Made to order breakfasts are priced right and are hearty and delicious. The French Toast is made with fresh, thick bread and the omelets are huge and cooked right — no runny innards here! They serve City Dock local coffee, and have an espresso machine that wouldn’t look out of place at NASA. The folks here are super friendly, just to top it all off.

Very limited menu but the taste seems limitless. I have been here two times and both times I thoroughly enjoyed the food. I went with breakfast items and they were very fulfilling. There is a huge selection of donuts that I purchased for my crew at work and they loved the maple glazed bacon donuts and the honey glazed. Ok I did have a donut and it was delicious. A definite upgrade over Dunkin Donuts as they are not mass produced and offers a bit of a local homemade flair. I opted for the breakfast sandwich that came with sausage(your choice of meat), egg, cheese, and your choice of bread. I know I just woke up but after eating this I wanted to go back home and take a nap. Yes it was that filling and satisfying. If you decide to go there it is a bit hidden for those of you who may not know this particular area of Odenton. Just look for Rita’s Ice and you are there right across from the Seven Eleven near the roundabout. Food is cooked to order but it still comes out quickly. I think the longest I ever waited was about 10 minutes for an order. If you are in the area or you want to make sure you got some fuel to get you through the day stop by and grab a bite to go or have a seat. I can’t wait to dive into some Brown Box again.

Move over Fractured Prune(FP), there’s a new donut in town and they serve breakfast and lunch too! What’s not to love about this place? salads, sandwiches, soup, chili, omelets it’s cute, clean & friendly your number is called by either mamma bear, papa bear, grade schooler boy bear and teen sister bear — very endearing, the entire family serves, cooks, dishes it up and it’s fresh, tasty and filling. and the donuts are best if eaten immediately, and not the next day — this donut doesn’t hold up that well, but normally, does a donut go uneaten for an entire day? agrees with the other Unilocalers — cakey, but just sweet enough. a tad smaller than the FP donut and I wish there was a filled donut option, but still very good. ordered an omelet filled with spinach and cheese, a side of scrapple(crisp) and the bacon maple donut. omelet was fine, spinach fresh and cheese oozing out of it. the scrapple was cooked exactly how I asked for it, accompanied by home fries and a thick slice of sourdough. a very filling and satisfying meal. though a fairly small place, I witnessed the line move quickly and at least a table or two was always open this is a nice breakfast option or a decadent treat for the office

The rumors are true; you must try the maple bacon doughnut. They are all freshly made to order and you can get the standard flavors or make them unique by trying different glazes and toppings. Don’t be put off that these are smaller doughnuts. The freshness will make you a return customer. Check the flyer that comes in the mail«Clipper Magazine» for coupons that will get you a dozen of doughnuts for $ 10. A half-dozen is $ 6.95 or individually they’re $ 1.19. Small new business but very welcoming and it does have that mom and pop feel. They have coffee, an assortment of cold beverages and a small menu of breakfast items and sandwiches that you can eat there or to go. The décor is quaint in a clean area with ample parking. There is no wi-fi or military discount but there is enough substance to the Little Brown Box that will keep you coming box. The irony is that my ½ dozen wasn’t served in a little brown box… hmmm :O)

Short version: Go here. Buy maple bacon donut. Enjoy fresh donut. Feel happy. Long version: My family and I have been waiting for this place to open and they finally did. The location right off the traffic circle is easy to navigate to. The inside is nicely decorated, comfortable, and feels like home. Nice background music that is low enough to keep a normal level conversation. The menu has a good selection of breakfast food to include omelettes. I haven’t tried any sandwiches or salads yet, but everything they make are fresh, made to order to include the donuts(more to come). My wife and son split 3 generously sized pancakes. Fluffy with a great taste, topped with powered sugar. I ordered a large coffee(they brew City Dock) and two donuts: Reece’s BP glaze and a maple bacon donut. The Reece’s donut was good, but the maple bacon stole the show. Their donuts are made fresh to order and took a couple minutes to get them. They have almost an initial crunch to them, but instantly are soft and fluffy on the inside, something missing from chain franchise donuts. Even with one register, they moved through the line and prepared orders quickly, accurately, and with awesome personality. My family will come back again and again.
