Love this place! I have gotten a lot of Chinese takeout and this is by far the best when it comes to chicken with broccoli. I can’t say much about any of the other stuff though because I always get the same thing

I used to come here at least once a week when I worked in the area and was never disappointed so when recently I had the opportunity to revisit, I did so. Their hot and sour soup is well above par with a nice hot spicy broth sprinkled on top with spring onions. The crab rangoons, which were light and crispy and stuffed with a tasty filling was also above average. The Hunan chicken I ordered was fresh and plentiful. The order came out quickly and the service was friendly.

If I could give zero stars I would. I ordered a delivery and I’m only 2.5 miles away. About 10 minutes after ordering online, I received an email cancelling my order, yet I’ve already been charged the full amount on my credit card. Don’t waste your time, go elsewhere.

Utterly disappointed! My wife and I looked foward to the crispy duck. We used to order it as a tradition every week. We were back to Hong kong gourmet today. The duck tasted like flour… to plump up the meat? It tasted like cardboard. Totally ruined our dinner. I guess they are cutting corners… not a good idea. We will walk to Newtown to the duck sauce instead!

I’m usually super leery of ordering Chinese out of town because you never know what kind of ptomaine tabernacle you will run up on. Who wants to lose their life in another state in the name of hunger? Not I, but I can safely say this was some of the freshest Chinese I’ve ever had. Could it be because they allowed me to choose no msg for every dish? Perhaps but everything was great. I got delivery of orange chicken, combination fried rice and the cream cheese wontons which were like crab Rangoon but smaller and delicious! If I’m in the area again, I’ll definitely order again!

Horrible… worst Chinese food ever!!! I usually give a place a few tries before I’m this harsh, but the food was so bad I won’t give it a second try… food tasty«dirty» and texture of my general Tao chicken would best be described as hard bands of rubber covered in styrofoam…

Shockingly good for the price. Delivery took a while, but that’s not a big deal. The food was a bit dry but since delivery took a while, I guess that makes sense. Everything was yummy, the delivery woman was sweet, and best of all, they gave me free spring rolls! Most delivery places around the base give me grief about coming on post, but they made no such issue. Plan to order again!

Came here with a Groupon, but ended up ordering enough for one of their menu coupons instead; a free Jalapeño Salt & Pepper Pork Chops. Those were delicious, lightly fried with a thin seasoned coating and sautéd with green onions and jalapeños. Also tried the Thai Northern Style fried rice. Not very authentic according to my Thai wife, but still delicious and we finished it all. Kids had Orange & General Tso’s chicken which was very sweet, yet still managed to taste different than other Chinese takeout in the area. The white rice was dry and did not seem fresh. Shrimp toast appetizers were good, but very greasy. Overall, a rate this as a good Chinese place that has a few better menu items and Thai selections. The service is also good, very pleasant and we didn’t want for anything. But it is just basically a Chinese takeout with a bigger seating area. We still have the Groupon, and even without it will probably go back since the location is close to work and the food + service is good. I recommend you give it a try and see what you think!

We decided to give this place a try as it always shows up with groupon/restaurant.com. The food is fine, but nothing to write home about and probably not worth a trip from any meaningful distance. They have several tables inside, but it is clear that this is mostly a takeout restaurant. We ordered dumplings, a pu pu platter, drunken noodles, chow mein and kung pao chicken. Everything was decent, I think the kung pao chicken was probably the best. They do have some thai food on the menu.

BLAND, BLAND, BLAND!!! I used the Groupon for lunch today. I ordered the pork egg foo young and the Hong Kong Spicy Wonton Soup. Authentic Hong Kong Wonton Soup is all about the fragrant broth. The best broths in Hong Kong incorporate some sort of seafood umami flavor. Usually made with some sort of dried fish, dried shrimp, and pork bones simmered for hours. The filling for the wontons is either 50% pork & shrimp or all shrimp with ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, yellow chives, soy sauce, and salt & pepper. Hong Kong Gourmet so-called«Hong Kong Spicy Wonton soup» was SUPERBLAND! The broth might as well be dish water, and the wontons had no flavor. ITWASAWFUL. The Egg Foo Young was just okay. I like the fact it wasn’t greasy, but it lacked flavor. Usually Cantonese food has more flavor and richness in their food. This is definitely not authentic Chinese food. They are catering to the American which I cant stand.

Stopped by here around lunch time Saturday. First impression– very easy to miss this place unless you are looking for it. It is nice sized, which you couldn’t tell from the outside. A tad dated, but I’m willing to overlook that for good food. We were promptly waited on and served water. We decided to go with the pu pu platter, even though the price was a little high($ 12). This was the biggest disappointment with the meal. 1. No fire to cook your food on(maybe this is a Midwest thing) and 2. the food was mostly mediocre. The ribs had no sauce(my favorite part) and the shrimp bread was incredibly overpowering. The meat-on-a-stick was probably the best part, mostly because it was very salty. I ordered the General Tso’s chicken lunch combo and was disappointed when my meal didn’t include a soup. I would have been willing to pay more to add it on but think it should be included even if they have to raise the price. It came with broccoli which was hard like it hadn’t been cooked enough. The chicken was decent, but not nearly spicy enough. I’m always afraid to ask for something hot, but this was incredibly tame. Sort of defeats the purpose of eating General Tso’s without at least a little kick. Decent food, but they definitely need to work on the Pu pu platter. Presentation was a huge disappointment for me, and then lackadaisical food just made things worse. Maybe I’d be willing to give them a second chance in the future, but with so many other options around, probably not.

Honestly this place is great! They serve real authentic Chinese food and it’s also very delicious. i tried the Chicken wings, crab rangoon, hot & sour soup, cantonese Chow Foon, drunken beef noodle, chicken with broccoli, and shrimp fried rice. I recommend all of them. The crab rangoons were really addictive. They also have free items if you spend a certain amount & they deliver within a 5 mile radius for $ 3 extra. Try this place out!!! You won’t regret it

This place is a gem in the Odenton Medical Center. I worked above this place for years and love going on my lunch break for the buffet. Very affordable and the owners(Ping and her husband) are so nice, pleasant, and super accommodating. My favorite thing on the menu is the Singapore Rice Noodles. The veggies are always super fresh, and you can omit or add whatever you want to your order. They get really busy sometimes in the evenings and only recently started offering delivery but there are technically only two employees(Ping and her husband). I love the service I get if I sit down to eat, and the food never disappointed me. If you are looking for a great meal, a great price and an easygoing experience, definitely visit this place. I am so sad I moved away, but whenever I am in the area I always frequent Hong Kong Gourmet.

Delivery took well over an hour and the food was mediocre at best. Not worth the wait or the price. The kung pao was not spicey at all and loaded with fillers. You pay the same at another restaurant down the street and get a much better product.

Ive been eating at this spot sence I was a little kid and its the best chinese food ive ever had. Getting chinese food from any other spot is just a disapointment and waste of money. I moved and will still drive 30 min to get food from this place rather then geting bad chinese food anywhere else. Nothing compares to this place. Hands down the best chinese food!

We love their Chinese food! Ping and the other staff are so nice~ the best orange chicken(white meat) around with upgraded fried rice. I always look forward to the wonton soup egg roll and hot tea as well. We go here at least 4x a month

Great place for lunch or dinner. Kind of hidden & hard to find, its in the Odenton Medical Center across from Perry’s restaurant. Have a cheap lunch buffet for $ 6.25 between 11 – 1:30pm or lunch/dinner combinations which come with a main dish, white or fried rice, large eggroll and choice of soup(dinner only). Lunch combinations are priced between $ 5.50−7.00 which is incredibly cheap considering the amount of food you get. Dinner is a couple bucks more and includes soup. The food is made to order & uses fresh ingredients. Had the kung pao chicken and it was very good overall. Had the sesame lemon chicken once and it wasn’t that great, too much lemon seasoning but really nicely cooked chicken. Szechuan beef my gf had was very good also. Overall this place is a hidden gem in Odenton, definitely better than Hunan L’Rose in the next shopping center over. If your looking for a decent place to eat for well under $ 10 for lunch this is it. Suggestion: get a soda or tea, they give you tap water otherwise & the sodas are only $ 0.99. Also, they are closed Sundays.
