Love this place! Was greeted as soon as we walked in, service was great and friendly. Animals looked happy and healthy and ended up adopting and beautiful rabbit and baby iguana who are both doing fantastic and are very tame and social. This place is a definite must ^.^

We just moved to town and Pet Mystique is the only place who carries our dogs food(Natural Balance LID) in the Midland/Odessa area. I went today and the girl working behind the counter(wish i got her name) was SONICEANDHELPFUL. Great experience!!! I was nervous after reading some reviews on google as this is the only option for us. I am glad i had such a positive visit today. Thanks for your help!

Sickly animals, improper care, horribly rude employee. Do not buy from this place. We went in today to browse through their store and to look at their reptiles. It smelled unpleasant. All of them were in improperly setup cages and many of the animals didn’t look very healthy. There was a red-eye tree frog with a bone-dry cage, snakes without water and stuck sheds, inadequate heat, absence of proper lighting, wrong substrates, etc — it is pretty obvious that they don’t know much about proper herp husbandry. We felt bad for one particular subadult bearded dragon, as it was rail thin and had notable muscle spasms from the onset of metabolic bone disorder. There was no UVB light. It had mealworms and sand substrate, which should both be avoided in beardies as they are very prone to impaction. There was no calcium powder. There wasn’t a displayed price on the cage, but there was a red heart cutout taped to it which read«Lovely lizards» — an outdated Valentine’s Day promotion. As we finished our browsing and approached the door, my husband hesitated with that beardie in mind — he stated that we should still inquire about price and he is open to rehabilitating it. A tall, broad woman with short hair in perhaps her 30s yelled toward us from halfway across the store to ask if we needed help. I approached her and asked about the price on the subadult beardie, to which she stated 179. Slightly taken aback that such a sick animal was being sold for such an amount, I kindly tried to offer information — I stated that it didn’t look so good and… she interrupted me. She informed me that the previous owner took poor care of it and they are working on putting more weight on it. I added that it has muscle spasms from MBD, and they need to provide it with UVB, to which she snapped that it has UVB and the vet tech is caring for it. As she was becoming visibly irritated, I just ended the conversation with«Perhaps it shouldn’t be for sale until it is healthy» and turned around to leave again. As we were walking towards the door, I offered some kind words to my husband, stating that his heart is in the right place, but sometimes trying to help isn’t very helpful, and the employee yelled«WHAT?! WHATDIDYOUSAY?» I informed her that I’m talking to my husband and not to her, to which she snottily stated, «That’s what I thought!» Frankly, this sounded like an aggressive challenge for a fight. Obviously, Pet Mystique is in the business of grubbing money at the expense of animals and buyers. Avoid this filthy place and these hostile, malicious, ignorant people.
