The pie is delicious. My family and I usually pick it up for a Sunday dinner. Very cozy atmosphere with classical music playing. The service is friendly. Usually low to medium busy except during seasonal times like Thanksgiving and Christmas when it’s very busy. Don’t forget to get your pie card stamped :)

I’ve never been much of a fan of Sandy’s My family used to love this place and we would visit often. I always enjoyed their sandwiches and pies but nothing to rave about. I’ve noticed over time the service has faded a lot. Last time I visited we were treated horribly by the server, worse than I’ve ever been treated at any restaurant in my life. When I asked for the manager she told me he wasn’t there. I asked another server on the way out and she was also rude and told me he wasn’t available. We will never return, there is no comeback from that kind of service. I gave two stars because I used to enjoy the food.

Sandy’s Fine Food is a cute, family-style restaurant. The Cajun Grilled Turkey Sandwich was tasty. Turkey was good and the grilled onions and cheese made for some great flavors. The wife had a chicken salad sandwich on wheat. She said it was really good. For desert I had a great piece of apple pie and my wife enjoyed the banana cream pie. It was a great meal overall and I would definitely recommend this place.

I had not been here in years, since my grandma passed away, so I decided to give it a try. Our first inkling it was not going to be good was the coffee. They didn’t have half and half, only some nasty liquid coffeemate product. Our server was kind enough to bring some milk, but the coffee was horrible even though it was freshly made. My dining partner and I ordered the soup and salad bar. The salad bar was well stocked, pretty standard selections. The blue cheese dressing had a horrible off taste to it. My dining partner ordered the chili. It was acceptable but not fantastic. I ordered clam chowder and regretted it the moment it came to the table. It was a bowl of bland, too thick, pasty glop. I don’t know if its normally like this or there was a mistake in the kitchen, but it won’t be back to find out. The service was quick and friendly, but we were only one of three tables.

This is our favorite place for breakfast, the boys love Tiffany’s French Toast, Rachel loves the Home-Made Granola and I can decide between Eggs Benedict and Migas!

Visited yesterday. Husband and I go weekly when in town. My husband had the Beef Stroganoff and it was absolutely delicious. Tasted like my Mom had made it. I had the Veggie Wrap and loved it. I eat out a LOT in SLC and in Arizona… not do much Layton and Ogden as very few quality places to go to) so I know my way around good food(and a treadmill). Sandy’s is really good comfort food. Do not care for sweets so cannot comment on the pies.

I hadn’t ever heard of this joint, but I was headed to a film at The Junction in Ogden and needed a place to eat before my film started. My friend and I couldn’t decide on anything as we were driving down Washington Blvd. so we finally decided to just sip at the next decent looking place we saw. And this is where we landed. As we were walking in the door, I started to pull up my trusty Unilocal app to see what the reviews said. The first one said that they had heard that the roast beef was«amazing, amazing, amazing!» So, yeah! Of course I tried it! If you want my opinion, it wasn’t worthy of one amazing. Tasty? Yeah, sure. It had a nice taste of onion to it that I couldn’t ignore. Though that’s the only thing I’ve gotten from there, I do recommend it.(Note that while I was there, I heard 2 other people order the roast beef as well.) I got the French Dip sandwich, which comes with chips.(Simple Lay’s Classic potato chips — I do love those, I just didn’t expect them) and I also ordered the mashed potatoes to go with my sandwich. The sandwich was good, like I stated before. Not«amazing,» but good. The mashed potatoes and brown gravy looked like they belonged on the display table at RC Willey. It looked plastic. And didn’t taste a whole lot better than that. I finished it, but will not order it again. Service was good and quick. We walked in with 30 minutes until our movie started and we made it to the theater just in time for the beginning. I give Sandy’s 3⁄5 stars because it was a spur-of-the-moment stop, it was quick to serve and the food was decent. If you’re in the mood for a different scene, but not expecting excellence, you may want to give Sandy’s a shot.

The pie was divine. The food was just mediocre. This place is an Ogden institution. My grandma loved it, but this last trip we made… I don’t think we’ll be visiting Sandy’s again. Unless it’s for pie. Mmmm, pie.

While on the road, I always look for great local places to eat. I was in Ogden, UT on 1÷17÷12 and a client recommended us to Sandy’s for dinner… We were seated and asked what the server recommended. She told us that the roast beef was Amazing, Amazing, Amazing… So with 3 amazings all of us chose the roast beef with different vegetables. The bread was hot and freshly made. While the roast beef was pretty darn good, it was a little short of amazing. The vegetables were fresh. However, the gravy was a good thick brown gravy! Try the pies. They’re probably the amazing part at Sandy’s. After seeing the samples, I decided I didn’t want to have to run 4 or 5 miles to burn all of the calories contained in the pie. So, I chose to have a couple of bites versus an entire piece. The banana cream pie was excellent! If you’re ever in Ogden, UT and want some good home-cooking; head to Sandy’s!

This review only applies to the pies from here, since I haven’t yet had the opportunity to sample their other foods. It’s going to be very difficult for me to order anything else from here, because the pie is just irresistible. They have a wonderful homemade-in-a-good-way quality to them, with a crust that is every bit as delicious as it looks.
