Great place for lunch! Lobster and clams along with chicken and burgers, but nothing finer than Rum punch or a Bloody Mary on the outside deck in the sun.

Ogunquit, Maine. Delicious lobster. Ask for hard shell. It cost a little more but so worth it. Green salad is fresh and tasty. Had dinner there twice and service was great. Thank you to Matt for helping with my lobster and the tips for eating it.

Went to Billys last nite just wanting a lobster roll and steamers. My wife decided to start with a salad that was as old and withered as the Halloween witch. The steamers were full of mud. The lobster rolls were good. The waiter shrugged his shoulders as if to say so what! The sad part is the price. 1 order of steamers 1 house salad 2 lobster rolls and 2 drinks for 100 $.

I guess living in Connecticut has spoiled me for restaurants that feature fish. All I’m gonna say is pre packaged tartar sauce. Really? Three eating establishments right next to each other, and you can’t make your own tartar sauce? Embarrassing. To me that tells enough about the quality of the food

I can’t understand the bad reviews for the clam chowder. It is one of the best we’ve ever had and we’ve been coming here for almost 20 years. We always start off our vacation at BB’s. I always get the baked haddock with cracker crumbs and it’s always excellent. I like their salads also. I guess maybe someone is making the chowder and not following the directions or not trained but I’m glad it hasn’t happened to us. I will say that they always have kids working here and sometimes you get someone who isn’t that friendly but I’ve never had a problem with the chowder or anything else.

Not bad, but I found it a bit pricey($ 35 fisherman platter) to be getting plastic cups for water and Ken’s tarter sauce in a pre-packaged container. The salad included with dinner was lousy. Service and atmosphere was good and the dinner was pretty good as well.

We thought it would be decent food if the waitstaff was eating it, right? Nope. Slightly less than average in portions and taste. Décor is tired. Husband’s fish was not fresh despite being told it was(we lived in a fishing town, we know fresh). The fries tasted like fish so obviously they’re not changing their oils enough. Seems to attract all the old people looking for early bird specials. This place epitomizes what’s wrong with a lot of tourist destination dining. They don’t have to try like your neighborhood place because they have a fresh captive audience every week and every season. Definitely not a do again.

Stay away. Worst clam chowder ever tasted. Nothing but lobster on the menu. This is take out only with some very dirty seating. No fries. I assume the drinks are the reason people come here. Great location on the water.

The décor is very outdated, from the excessive use of wood, to the chairs in the lounge. When we arrived we were told there was a wait(good sign that it’s busy) and to have a seat in the lounge. The lounge was a 95% empty bar that had a small TV in the corner. When we finally were seated I looked around and half the tables were empty. Why is there a wait when the place is half empty? While looking through the menu i noticed a few ants on the window, but overlooked it. The menu was pretty standard for a seafood place. I ordered the clam chowder & grilled chicken sandwich. Clam Chowder — bland and watery, seemed like it was straight out of a can. Very little clam, very disappointed. Grilled chicken — nice a juicy, very good and if I ever came again I’d get it Fries — they were fries, nothing special, but not terrible.

My wife and I were experiencing Maine for the first time and had our first meal at Barnacle Billy’s in Ogunquit. Great first impression. I had the swordfish — perhaps a sacrilege in Lobstah Land, but juicy and delicious. My wife did have the lobster roll, which was excellent, as were the steamers — plump Maine softshells. The patio overlooked a colorful marina, the server was prompt and personable. Overall, a fine intro to Maine.

Ordered the lobster roll, clam chowder and piña colada. Everything was pretty good. Clam chowder had a lot of clams but could have used a little more flavor. Piña colada yummy but needed more alcohol, haha! The steamers were pretty yummy as well as the fresh corn! Kiddo ordered the hot dog. Ehhh okay. Overall not bad. Would try other places in this area before returning.

I ordered the Grilled chicken sandwich which was so delicious and so tender. The bread was grilled with perfection too and the dinner rolls were hot and fantastic. Our server was very friendly and very professional. I would definitely recommend on eating at Barnacle Billys rest. It’s one of our favorites;)

Pricey and it’s ok. Quality of the food is amazing. Best fried clams ever. Plus the valet service is a smart idea as you will not find parking in the Summer. Service was on point and we love you Kendra!(Good luck in school).

Long wait. Terrible service. All fried food. No vegetarian options except for a really bad salad. My aunt ordered a bottle of champagne and not only did it take forever to come but they brought the wrong kind. FYI they do provide complimentary valet service which is great because parking in the area is awful. With all the fabulous local eateries that are available here, I would not return to this restaurant.

When the waitress handed us packets of Kens tartar sauce with our meals, we knew we made a huge mistake. You are paying for the view, not the food. Big disappointment

This place is a joke. We walked in at 12:05 — to an empty dining and were told they don’t allow stollers.(Our daughter was quietly sleeping a a very small umbrella stroller) I could understand if it was actually busy how this rule would make sense but when the restaurant has only been open for 5 minutes and there was maybe 4 people total in the whole restaurant it’s absurd. Avoid this place at all costs especially if you have children– their presence mind offend this establishment.

Last week my husband and I stayed in Ogunquit for vacation. One evening we headed to Barnacle Billy’s to have a couple drinks and relax at the bar. The bartender named Stu(not really sure if that was his real name but that was his name tag) asked what we wanted. We inquired about their Cabernet wine. He said they had a house wine or Sterling. When I asked how the house was was his reply was«I don’t know, I don’t drink red wine». Well, in my opinion, if you’re the bartender even if you don’t drink red wine you would have some clue based on if your the regular customers order it. So, just to be safe we ordered a tried and true, Sterling. It was served I What I would consider to be an «old-time» small wine glass holding only approximately 3−4oz. I have to mention that when we arrived there was a couple eating at the bar and a table of 4 having drinks in the bar area so it wasn’t busy. Soon after our arrival it was just the 2 of us. The bartender never struck up any conversation with us so definitely not very personable. It was like we were invisible. Since we were looking for a bar with a little more excitement we decided to ask for our check. Wow, were we surprised when he told us it would be $ 21!!! That’s $ 10.50 for a 3oz glass of wine! Happy we stopped after one! Went to another bar down the street and ordered a bottle of Louis Martini Cabernet and the bottle was only $ 36 along with a very friendly bartender! in

Great location wonderful views menu a bit sparse. Lobster options a bit pricey but very fresh. Calamari appetizer small but very good. Chowders were homemade and tasty. Parking $ 10 Three and half stars.

Barnacle Billy’s etc is very casual, home cooked seafood. Here you’ll find locals and tourists alike, it is very welcoming to families and has a hometown feel to it. The staff is friendly despite always being busy with tables! Food came out in a timely manner, even with it being a crowded Saturday night at dinner time! I have to say I was very pleased. You can choose fries, or a baked potato + cole slaw or a salad. Mind you, you are coming for the seafood, not the sides. Order the lobster– you won’t be disappointed. The ambiance was casual, right on Perkins Cove, overlooking the water, what’s great is that it’s located off Marginal Way, so you can walk off your dinner and watch a little sunset! The views are incredible. If it’s nice out, eat on the patio! Sometimes you’ll see boats coming in. Overall wonderful, down-home restaurant. An Ogunquit chronicle.

We decided to go back at the end of our trip on our way home. We did the Marginal Way walk, took a scenic boat tour and ended our day having dinner. Glad we did! Swordfish was good, haddock was great and loved the apple pie for dessert. Wish I had the time to enjoy the mussels — they looked great on the tables next to us. We sit outside to enjoy the view and the beautiful garden next door. Service from the youthful staff is pleasant and efficient and they like to engage on conversation and tell you about the«local» favorites. This is worth the trip! Take advantage of the valet parking!
